Hey everyone,
I’m looking for a microphone recommendation for a specific setup. I use speakers for audio instead of headphones due to sensitivity issues (ear pressure and tinnitus), but I also need a mic for gaming and communication. My biggest challenge is avoiding feedback or echo when using speakers with the mic.
Does anyone have experience with a similar setup or these mics? Are there other options I should consider? Also, any tips for using a mic and speakers without creating an echo loop would be awesome!
Thanks in advance
I have used Bose QC45s for almost 2 years, but the other day they were stolen. I picked up a pair of Sony WH-1000XM4s to replace them. However I am very disappointed with the muddy sound.
My first preference at the store were some Sennheiser Momentum 4s, as the display model seemed to have that spacious, clear sound I love. They had none left in stock though. The Bose QCs were a much higher price than I originally bought them for.
Are the Sony's really that bad, or am I overthinking it? I have to say that their ANC is brilliant, which is important because of my sensory issues. The sound is quite tough to get used to though, I feel as if all the detail is missing.
I have messed around with EQ imported into Wavelet, as well as enabling LDAC, disabling calls etc. in android settings. This has improved the sound, but it still feels so muffled compared to my old Bose.
The store I bought from doesn't seem to accept returns without a seal, unfortunately.
I have been using them since February, and they hurt my ears when I use them for some time. They're heavy compared to Edifier X3 Lite.
I'm looking for IEM'S around 10 bucks available on Aliexpress, I do not listen to music, and I do need a microphone. I don't have specific needs besides that. And I want an angled jack if possible.
Thanks.
Edit : added budget.
I've been going through a ton of old posts and comments trying to find some good closed back headphones for around $200-$300 but everytime I search peoples recommendations the headphones end up being over $400, I'm hoping someone could recommend a nice closed back pair that are still under $200 usd? I'm not a huge audiophile so I don't know/think I'll notice some differences between headphones, just looking for something good all-around (music, movies, gaming).
I did do some research beforehand, I was looking at the hd599's but they're open back, and the hd569's look good but have mixed reviews, and now I'm kinda stuck. Should I just go with the HD569's or is there a better alternative? would extremely appreciate any help :)
Hey all,
I'm looking for last minute Black Friday purchase of a good gaming headset that can be used wirelessly with gaming PC and via bluetooth with my Macbook. I'd like for them to be bass focused.
It doesn't have to be simultaneous bluetooth and wireless, it's okay to be a switch between the two devices. As I'm not gaming and working at the same time :)
Location Germany, budget 100-300 euros. Shops - mediamarkt.de, amazon.de, otto.de, idealo.de to check prices
Thanks!
Hi everyone. I've been in the hobby for about 3-4 years and I'm basically done with headphones. However, I've recently built a gaming PC and I want to have an in ear alternative to my FiiO FT1 closed back, especially because I expect them to be hot/unconfortable to wear the next summer.
In the past I had a pair of Truthear Hexa, sold after some months because it was not surprising me soundwise and it was impossibile to get a good seal, probably because of the big nozzle size (6.3mm). The Letshouer S12 had a perfect seal for me with that 5.8mm diameter, and it was interesting for its soundstage capabilities but tuning was too v-shaped for my tastes. I tend to like more mid centric tunings (my favourite headphones are HD660s2 on tubes).
I'd like to spend less than 100$ but if there is a super good IEM for both gaming and music listening that can't be ignored, I could eventually expand my budget by a considerable margin (less than 500$ btw). And nozzle MUST be small😁.
Thanks!
I recently bent the 3.5mm plug on my s12 pro modular cable. I really like the cable as it's one of the better cables I've used and would like to replace the plug rather than get a new cable.
So does anyone know where I can get a 3.5mm plug that fits the s12 pro modular cable?
Bluetooth Headphones for 10 year old daughter
Looking for a set of over the ear or on the ear bluetooth headphones for our 10 year old daughter.
No, she is not an audiophile or a gamer... so we are looking for product recommendations that are value for money, with good battery life, and reasonably robust.
Have been looking at several different brands, but haven't found something that meets our requirements. Appreciate any advice you have to offer.
Recently, my 2-pin IEM cable broke accidentally, so I need to buy a new one. Should I choose a standard 2-pin or a recessed 2-pin/QDC? Also, which brand would you recommend? Occasionally, I need a mic as well, as long as it doesn’t compromise my audio experience, since I use it for office meetings sometimes. Will a recessed 2-pin/QDC fit?
I usually shop online at Headphone Zone. If anyone has suggestions, please let me know india, Budget should be under 3,000 and tone should be fit to My Truthear x Crinacle - ZERO:RED
Hi, I was aiming to get Koss KPH40 Utility but the availability over here sucks (at least in my country, Poland). I could've gotten it from Amazon for 47 USD (with tax) but I waited too long and it's unavailable. Now if I wanted to I could only order from a single other store for 62 USD, but that's a bit out of my budget currently and I'm not sure if they're worth markup of 15 USD.
I was looking for an alternative but I have absolutely no knowledge in audio. I just don't like strong bass and I want them to be comfortable for daily use (which is why I was thinking open headphones, closed ones like my current pair put too much pressure on my ears). The only thing I could find are KSC75 (22 USD) and Porta Pro (34 USD) which I'm guessing are the best choice in this price range but IDK and IDK which pair to get anyway. they both have good availability too. I'm a bit worried about KSC75's comfort though, I don't like having pressure behind my ear and the clips look like they'd put some. Also KPH30i which are a bit cheaper than Porta pro
Hey guys, I want to upgrade from the 80 ohm beyer dt 770 pros. my budget is anything under 1000 dollars. I love my beyers, I drive them with a K5 pro, but I think my ideal would be something that provides a little bit more power without losing detail.
For the music I listen to sometimes I want a little bit more base (nothing too crazy, just a bit more power behind it). I have though about LCD-2 Classics, have read some stuff about Focals but since I can try them out myself, wanted some opinions from you guys that may have gone through this.
I have tried EQing but perhaps due to inexperience I never got what I wanted out of it. If anyone has ideas on what I should be looking for please let me know. Thank you!
Feel free to recommend open or closed back, as long as it fits the criteria.
I’ve been looking for a really great sounding headphone for the gym for a bit but I’d like to get some second opinions.
I’ve been seeing good reviews for the XM5, Sennheiser Momentum 4, and the AirPods Max but I’m torn between the three.
I’m looking for some headphones that can really immerse you in the music and let you hear every instrument of the song.
I’ve heard that the Sennheisers have the best sound but the AirPods have the best noise canceling which I think can really help to get that immersion into the music. I feel the XM5 would be the obvious choice since it’s the in between between the sound and noise cancellation, but I’ve seen people have criticisms about them and how it’s better to just go for the XM4s.
If there are any recommendations or your thoughts on or outside the three please feel free to add. Thanks.
Budget and location - under $150 USA
How the gear will be used - Gaming
Preferred tonal balance - Came from HD280 pro to HD560s. I didnt like the sound leakage of open backs and admittedly the alleged sound quality was not noticeable to me. A little bass boost is nice but not necessary.
What is necessary is either a removeable cable, or built in mic. Im currently using a cable with a mic for the hd560s and the convenience can not be over stated vs a lapel mic. I have a soundblaster G6. I was considering the Fiio FT1 but having a cable on both earcups seems horrendously annoying. and the famous DT770 cable is not removeable. the AKG371 is also popular and id definitely consider that if other options arent better. Also if possible, deeper cushions would be nice, the HD560s touches my ears uncomfortably.
Edit: what about dt770 pro x? it has a detachable cable
Hi, so I game a lot and also spend a lot of time listening to music, i was looking to try IEMs for both of those usages after watching some review videos. Can yall give some recommendations for cheap IEMs that work well? I need a mic with decent quality too. I'm a student so i dont want to spend too much on my first pair so maybe one thats under 50 or cheaper? I currently use jabra wireless for music and a razer blackshark v2x for gaming and i want something thats maybe equal or better than both. I tried the salnotes zero with USB C and mic but the mic doesnt work with my discord and valorant but i like the sound quality quite a bit at least. Thanks
TLDR Looking for comfortable indoor headphone with multiple device support for under $200
Budget: Would prefer under $200, but willing to stretch to $250 for premium product
Source iPhone + iPad wireless
How will the headphone be used: Mostly at home. I just want something I can use while around the house + eating. I don’t need anc or mic
Music genre: Pop music
Past gear experience:
-Skullcandy crusher anc2: I bought this with the intent of home use, but it gets extremely uncomfortable after wearing for only 20 mins. It falls down when I dip my head down to eat, gets hot and humid after 20 mins, and hurts my ear after wearing for a while.
-HD600: my desk setup
-AirPods Pro 2: current main setup, but there’s slight swelling in my ear which is why I’m looking for headphones
What I’m looking for: -Comfort: must be comfortable for long session, especially with glasses
-Multipoint: so I can seamlessly switch between my apple device
-(Optional) No startup message: I don’t want to hear “power on, headphone 60%, anc off” every time I boot up the device
-(Optional) sleep: some kind of sleep/ low power feature when I take off the headphone
Headphones I’m looking at: -Beats Studio pro: At $160 seems like a good budget option for the Apple ecosystem. No multipoint is a bummer, but should still be easy to switch devices
-momentum 4: $220 Cheapest “premium” headphone so far?
-Bose quiet comfort (not ultra) $200 Bose seems to make the most comfortable headphone out there
Hello! I am looking to buy a new pair of true wireless earbuds since my old Argon Audio IE20 broke. My budget is around 1500 SEK(~150$). I often listen to Swedish Prog Rock (example: Hoola Bandoola Band, Nationalteatern, Nynningen) but I also listen to the occasional “Folky” music (examples include Cornelius Vreeswijk). I like a balanced tone generally, not too fond of bass so if a pair of headphones is lacking in that department it doesn’t particularly bother me. My use case is often in public. I travel a lot by bus and train therefore active noice cancellation is almost a must for me. As stated above I want a true wireless pair of earbuds, however I am an iPhone user. Therefore something like the Pixel Buds may not be very compatible. Thanks in advance!
Pretty short and sweet. I’m looking for sub $200 headphones. Primarily playing shooters and listening to metal, rap, and EDM style music. Available sources are Amazon, Best Buy, Micro Center, Guitar Center, and Target. I don’t use a DAC and I’m currently using IEM’s, but am very let down as far as the audio queues I constantly miss in video games. Not being able to hear plenty of footsteps. Missing bass and other audio queues in music. I feel I have a pretty general need, but I don’t have the knowledge so anything helps me to open up more avenues and so on.
Hello, I am looking into getting a new pair of wireless headphones. I would like to get a pair that will be good for gaming and everyday use, but I am not sure how to go about it. The 2 options I was the most interested in are the Wyse Noise Canceling Headphones and the HyperX Cloud Stinger 2 headphones.
I have a budget of about 100 dollars, and I'm looking to replace a pair of Steelseries Arctis Primes because the wire often gets in the way and doesn't allow me to use them with my phone. A closed back and wired capability would be preferred so i can use them with my electric drums. I am open to other suggestions as well. Thank you in advance!
Edit- I want to stay away from Razer because I've heard a lot of bad things about their connectivity. I've also heard about a lot of problems with Corsair.
Hello! Going to use the suggested format and then add more:
My current AMP & DAC stack:

Any other information needed or questions please ask me! Thank you!
Hi everyone,
I’m seeking advice on selecting over-ear headphones that I can use for both personal and professional purposes. My primary concern is finding a pair with excellent sound quality for music, but more importantly, superior sound quality for phone calls.
Currently, I’m facing issues with my existing headphones during phone calls—people on the other end often hear a lot of background noise, which is not only bothersome for them but can also come across as unprofessional in the workplace.
I’m looking to spend no more than $350 USD and will be wearing these headphones for 5-8 hours a day. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
mu budget is 150$ (im willing to stretch it a little bit) and i need closed back headphones that have:
-good audio quality for gaming and music (obviously)
-a detachable mic
-looks fairly modest (i dont want any of those embarrassing "gamer" designs)
-good sound isolation, especially for louder genres like metal, so people don't get annoyed if im listening to music on a bus
This is more of a curiosity thing than actually looking for recommendations; What set has the most flat frequency response graph? As in the squiggly line is more like a straight line :P
Closest I've seen is the AKG K712, but it still has peaks and valleys in the treble. I wanna see something truly flat, just for fun. Hell maybe I'll even buy it and torture my ears if it's cheap enough lol
I'm looking for headphones for my desktop. I have no preference between wired or wireless. I only use it for gaming but money is tight in that toddler life so I'm looking for something $100 or less. I rarely play shooters and never play competitive games, so things like knowing where footsteps are coming from is a bonus, but not necessary. I mostly play RPGs and open world games so things like dialog, music, and ambiance are much more important. I will also need to use this headset for Zoom calls, so I need at least a decent mic. It's unlikely I'll be using the mic in gaming though.
Do you have any recommendations?
My apologies to kind of do another this vs that post but I've been going round and round for days and just becoming more confused and indecisive. I'll start with my needs are far from critical listening, I need an all rounder for music and gaming (sometimes) but mostly movies which will be typically over bluetooth. My current set are Yamaha WPH-W300. Man, I must have these for about 10 years now. They're OK, I'd like something that sounds more rich, accurate.. a bit fuller.
I'm trying to take advantage of the Amazon sale before it ends as I have some credit there. Not the the field has to be narrowed but I've been looking at either:
The px7 s2's seem a good deal at the moment but looking to hear anyone else's views.
Thanks.
I'm in the market for new headphones and with Cyber Monday coming up I'm having a hard time deciding between the Shokz openrun minis or the beats fit pros? I intend to use them almost entirely for working out, particularly running. I lean towards the shokz because I sweat a lot and I'm tired of constantly having to readjust my earbuds or get new ones due to the lack of sweat resistance. But I've read many reviews and see many people saying that the volume and sound quality with bone conduction earbuds is really poor. I prefer running on the treadmill so I'm afraid that the loudness of that plus the surrounding gym environment is going to make it extremely hard to hear my music with the shokz. Any insight or experience with this would be highly appreciated. I think the beats fit pros are the safer option for me but they're significantly more expensive and I'm not convinced they will actually stay comfortably in my ears. I would also appreciate any alternative recommendations from people with similar preferences. Thank you!
Hello, I'm currently using realme earbud. Somehow the left side of my ear - crus of helix always hurt when using even for short amount of time. My crus of helix is prominent over the left side hence I think it hits and cause irritation. I don't have problem with my right side.
I'm considering to buy a new earbud so it'll stop hurting me, any suggestions? I prefer earbud that have the silicon plastic replaceable thing as it snugly hugs your ear canal.
Any suggestions would be appreciated thanks! Usage is for : ASMR while playing games. Budget 100 dollar and below
They sound GOOD, but I want to make sure they're sounding their best. Is there any software based things I should be aware of?
Also, would using the 4.4mm jack on the Moondrop make a big difference?
I've been using these headphones for a while now and I love them. I do mixing and recording so it's very important to me that I have pretty flat frequency response headphones (and that's also how I prefer to listen to stuff, as well). Part of the reason I got them is because the cable is removable (and, therefore, replaceable). But I'm a bit clumsy and there are multiple times where I've dropped them or they've fallen off of my desk, and the plastic has broken in a few spots. As for budget, I'm looking to spend no more than $200 and would like to order online, as I've gotta go an hour or so out to find stores where I could find anything decent.
I'm currently looking at ATH-M50X and I've read that they're more sturdy, but have a less flat frequency response.
Hi, after trying some beyerdinamics from a friend I got curious about audiophile equipment.
I wanted to try some open back headphones since I never had any.
I would like something under 200€ available in europe (Denmark/Italy) and suitable for metal/rock music.
I don't have any experience in audio, I just have the sony xm5, but comparing them to the beyerdinamics of my friend I could hear an enormous difference.
I would use these headphones at home for music and a little single player gaming (but that's not my main focus)
Thanks for the advice
hello, so I'm currently using my DT 990's on some berhinger interface and while it might be sufficient for music, for games it's whole different story, I have to enable peace EQ to get some loudness in the most games and even then sound is pretty muffled and soundstage isn't great so I was wondering if Fiio k5 pro would fix that and if it's good at all for FPS games ? i know dts 990's are already treble heavy so my fear is overpowering with powerful amp will make it lose some sound details in games
