You can eliminate all services but Sonos Radio. It somehow added a number of Sonos Radio options to my app home screen. I thought I had taken that stuff off but it seems like I didn’t. Anyone else notice this? I refuse to use it.
Hello! I am here seeking some support for getting Atmos content to play through my new Sonos system. I just got it all yesterday (Arc Ultra, Sub 4, Eras 300x2) and Dolby Atmos was playing without a problem through my 2017 Vizio M Series via ARC. Today when I got back from work, I noticed the TV audio sounded very strange, almost echoing. I realized the setting shifted in my Vizio to the PCM output and I reset it back to Atmos. Now, however, Atmos content will not play through the system via the TV no matter what I do. It is perpetually stuck on Dolby Digital 5.1 whether I play content through the PS5 or native apps on the TV. It’s just odd, because it was working without a problem yesterday. I tried power cycling everything, disconnecting, reconnecting, tweaking settings, etc. All to no avail. If anyone has any tips I’d love to hear them! Thank you!
Lately when I try to choose a specific song the youtube music section of the sonos app (with youtube premium), usually via the "My Supermix" playlist, it starts playing a different song. Other times I get the stupid "an error occurred" message. Are both of these things known issues? I tried googling but didn't find much for this specific issue.
Hi I’m new Sonos owner and wanted to ask a question to the people who have been long time Sonos experts. I recent purchased the beam and I love it. Im moving to a new apartment soon and was wondering if I should prioritize the sub mini first or the 300? It’s going to be in the living room that’s isn’t HUGE but fairly big. Eventually I want the whole set up. Both are currently on sale and figured it would be a better time to buy right now.
Has anyone seen this? I'm signed into youtube music on my computer and Sonos - I can see a bunch of playlists on the computer, but the Sonos can't see anything, I'm just getting "No selections are available" and an empty page. I've tried signing out of the youtube account and re-adding it to no avail.
Just picked a beam gen 2 up and it is amazing. Still haven't had a chance to set up with trueplay yet, will get to that soon, does it make a difference?
Also, does the beam 2 have speakers on the back of the unit. I've placed it on my stand but the cabling is visible. I can push the beam back against the wall but not sure if that blocks the speakers
I am an idiot when it comes to this stuff. We had a sonos system installed by a service years ago and have it upgraded periodically. I can use it to play stations and even connect with Bluetooth at times, but that's about as far as my abilities go. This is probably more of a music service question than sonos, but I do need it to work on sonos.
I don't currently subscribe to music services other than what comes with Prime. When I ask my echo to play a particular song, it will do so. However, if I search for that song in sonos and it comes up in Amazon music, the only option seems to be stations with similar music to that song. What do I need to do/buy to have a library of music, including entire albums? Like my old CD collection, just digital and portable to different devices. Is that even possible? I have Movies Anywhere to port movies around and it is linked to Amazon for my purchases there. Is there something like that for music? Or is some monthly subscription the only option (would like to avoid)? If renting music is all that is left, which one is best for working with Sonos or are they all about the same? And do they all have on-demand options for things like entire albums? I tried to figure it out myself but just couldn't.
(This is particularly important to me with Broadway albums. I don't want to jump around and hear the same actor in 4 different productions then a similar production, etc., etc. It tells a story! In order! And that's how I want to hear it Sonos!)
I have a pair of old Play:1s that I’ve been wondering what to do with. Recently, when looking into TV soundbars, it looked like there were a bunch of wireless options, which surprised me because I assumed that wouldn’t work for keeping the audio synced to the visuals consistently. I have an LG C3; is it possible to get the Play:1s to work like stereo speakers with the TV?
Can anyone with arc ultra and era 300’s tell me if their waveguide tweeters on the arc ultra (they are on the front of the bar to the far right and far left) are working?
The explosive view help you locate them - https://www.sonos.com/en-us/shop/arc-ultra
Mine sound like the woofer is working but not the tweeter when playing atmos content. However it could be designed this way when hooking up era 300’s.
Im always winding up with different volume levels on devices😜
That is all.
My current Sonos setup has issues with speakers dropping in and out. After experimenting, it seems the problem happens when I play speakers on multiple levels and I'm guessing my 70 year old house with chicken wire/plaster in many places creates issues with the signal. My current setup is also a little bit of a hodgepodge. We're going to do a remodel and I'm going to take advantage to add quite a few ceiling speakers as well as adding Cat6 to each floor with a switch. My understanding from reading about how Sonos works is that running hard lines to more speakers plus having at least one hard-wired speaker or amp to each floor will help create a 'better' network for everything to work.
The images below show how the system is currently setup and my plan for my post-remodel setup. I'm not set on the ceiling speaker choice yet so any feedback on that is appreciated as well. I might also add the Ikea remote to control volume on each floor.
Am I missing anything here on my plan for my new setup?
This would make the Sonos speakers sky rocket in their feature set!
So about a week ago I seriously upgraded from a lower end Vizio setup to the Arc Ultra and two 300s. I’ve tried the different tuning options in the app, but nothing I’ve heard seems to justify the investment. Buying a sub to accompany is a must I’m guessing, even though the Ultra claims it probably isn’t needed? I think I have the beginnings to an unbelievable system, just need some help being pointed in the right direction. Thanks!
I bought two Era 300s that I’ve set up as a stereo pair for music. Is my understanding up to date of how to get the most out of Apple Music with them?
I have a turntable connected to a Sonos Connect Gen 2, which in turn is connected to around 8 speakers in my house but primarily used with a pair of 5s that are otherwise used as surrounds with a Beam Gen 2. Despite all of the issues with the app over the past year, this is my primary Sonos use case and has continued to work wonderfully.
I bought a pair of Black Friday Ace headphones, expecting to use them with my turntable, and... I can't. They're apparently just "direct" Bluetooth headphones, or work with TV swap. I can't get audio to them out of my turntable - my primary use of my Sonos gear. I talked to the chat people, and it just seems that's just how it is.
I managed to stay out of the app disappointment by not updating my phone for a long period of time and haven't had many problems over the past several months, believe it or not. However, the fact that these headphones won't play from my turntable like my other 9 speakers is just absurd.
Total insanity. Yes, I see in the FAQ that "Sonos Ace does not group in the same way your other Sonos speakers group. You can use Sonos Ace to swap TV audio back and forth with select soundbars." Since I was able to send my turntable audio to a Beam Gen 2 I assumed this would work. Guess not. Awful.
(Edit: I regularly play music from my turntable via both a Beam Gen 2 and an original Beam, both of which are within standard Bluetooth distances of where I planned to use these headphones. There is literally nothing as far as I can tell that indicates this is not a supported configuration on the Sonos web site.)
This has been annoying me so much. I have a Samsung TV hooked to a Sonos Beam.
Randomly one day I was unable to control the volume with the firestick remote. Everything we watch is through the firestick.
Sometimes the Samsung TV remote will work. But other times it won't. It always works using the Sonos app. And the sound always works with the firestick. Just have problems adjusting volume.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks so much.
Current media room (small) has PB+ones in the front and a mini sub. Plan is to sell ones and playbase and replace w arc. Nothings mounted (yet), the Arc will sit on a tv stand for now. Am I making the right call?
Hey folks, can we group speakers without splitting them into Left - Right so when I’m Air playing in the kitchen, all my speakers play without having to individually take one by one.
Have an era 300 that has been used in surround sound for 2 yrs. This last weekend it started making a tone that sounds like bongos being played (only way to describe it). Not sure what’s going on. Tried unplugging but it’s continuing.
I recently bought the arc ultra and I have been very pleased with the sound, but I still cannot get the advanced trueplay to even run. Airplay just doesn't work anymore. It disconnects from the app several times a week where I have to reset it by disconnecting it from power. Recently I've also had two episodes where the surround (era 100s) didn't connect to wifi and I had to reset them by disconnecting them from power. I've had very few app problems because I don't ever use the app, but now I am having problems outside of the app as well. Annoying..........
I am receiving the Sonos Arc for Christmas. My MIL bought it for $720+tax at Costco.
My question is should I return it when the Arc Ultra comes to Costco and spend the extra $300 on that or keep the Arc and spend $380 on the Sonos Era 100s for surrounds.
I want the best setup for the next year or 2. I will probably be adding the sub and surrounds as time goes on.
I’m an audio idiot. I have speakers with 6ohms impedance, and 60w maximum input power. Will these work with Sonos Amp?
They are TEAC LS-MC90 bookshelf speakers.
Hello,
Does anyone know which command to give to turn off the era down when you leave. I'm controlling it with my Google hub, I've set the era 100 as it's standard speaker. Turning it on works perfectly, but I can't turn it off. Lowering or muting the volume when leaving is possible, but there is no on/off choice.
Thanks
Got two era 100s on the way and looking to mount on the wall, how is everyone supplying power without showing any cords?
Anybody knows if it still works ?
I can't find a clear answer to the following question: I currently have a stereo pair of Era 100's in my living room for music and just ordered a Beam gen 2 for my tv and a Sub Mini that I would like to use for music and tv. Is it possible to use the Sub Mini with the Era 100's for stereo music and the Beam gen 2 for tv/movies as well, without using the Era 100's as rears for surround. The reason I do not want to use the Era 100 pair as rears is because I want to place Era 100's in front of my couch (not behind).
Best deal I’ve seen for the pair of 300s. Last chance at $673 but prob goes away pretty soon!
