Echo in voices with the Arc Ultra

Hello,

I searched but couldn't find any other mention of this issue with the Arc Ultra in the sub.

I received the Ultra a few days ago, had no issue to replace my old Arc with the Ultra. I deleted the surround + sub. Then I setup the Ultra and added back the Era 300 as surround + my sub gen 3 as the sub.

I test it at first without trueplay, it sounds nice, warmer than before. I then do a trueplay with my S23 Ultra, it doesn't work the first time, I need to close / reopen the app to do it once again, and this time it works fine.

Since then I watched a few movies / series, and sometimes I will get this weird feeling in the voices, like if the people speaking are in a cave, sort of an echo-ish sound in the voices. I didn't have this issue with the Arc before.

As anyone dealt with that or have an idea what it could be ?

I tried with trueplay on/off but it is the same. Maybe a bit less present with trueplay off.

Dolby atmos

Hi everyone! I’m trying to get Dolby Atmos from my Beam 2 which is connected to an TCL C805 but I’m only able to get Digital Plus 5.1.

Interestingly, I do get Atmos when using my PS5, so I know it’s capable. I’ve set Dolby Atmos in audio processing and enabled pass-through in digital audio out, but still no luck.

Any suggestions?

BOOST

Hi - I have a Decco mesh network. Sonos does not really work well with it. I am considering buying a used boost to resolve. Questions: 1 - where there multiple versions of the boost?

2 - is this a good solution?

Alexa on Era 100

Hi! I have two Era 100s paired as stereo. Currently, I was only able to set up Sonos voice control, i know that Google assistant is not available, but i also wasn't able to set up Alexa as an assistant instead of Sonos voice control. Is this possible? Thanks!

Best Setup for my Room Sizes

Hello all,

I’m buying a house that has the main area dimensions of 15’x 15’ where I would want to put my biggest TV around 75” OLED. I imagine doing a Sonos Arc Ultra with a Subwoofer and maybe surrounds but I would have to see cause I hate obvious cords and I’m not sure if there would be a position where they weren’t obvious.

My primary bedroom will be 20’ x 20’ and it’s where I plan to spend a lot of time watching tv/movies. I watch a lot of UHD tv and movies. I plan on putting a 55” TV in there right now and I’m not sure about surrounds or not but definitely want a soundbar.

Any suggestions on the set up choices for these rooms? What kind of surrounds would be best? Is a Beam 2 or Arc or Arc Ultra the best soundbars for these use cases? Should I get a Mini-Sub for my bedroom?

Any help is appreciated. I’m not an audiophile, nor do I play my music/TV super loud but I like a good audio experience

Sonos One/ Era 100 + Alexa volume issue

Since a few weeks, Alexa is ignoring the device volume for her voice. Her voice has always the same volume and I am unable to change it. Anyone a solution?

Homepod mini - Spotify and Sonos integration ?

Hello,

I'm thinking of replacing my Alexa ecosystem with Homekit. I have a question regarding the integration of Sonos devices as well as Spotify.

For example, can I ask Siri on a Homepod mini to play music from Spotify on my Sonos devices? This is something that can be done with Alexa and Echo devices.

I see contradictory information on the internet, and it seems that Homekit and Spotify features have evolved over the last few years.

Note: I'm open to using third-party products like HomeBride if necessary, but if it could be a native feature, that would be better :)

Thanks for your feedback.

Upgrade to Arc Ultra or add a Sub Mini for the same cost?

Current have an Arc and Era 300s otw.

11.11 sales are going on now in my country, and I’ve got a buyer for my current Arc that would make an upgrade to the Arc the same price as getting a sub mini.

Been wanting a little more bass, and the wife would prefer fewer devices than more.

Is it worth upgrading to the arc ultra? Or would the sub mini be more worthwhile?

At this point is the Sonos boost useless?

It doesn’t show up on the app, can I get rid of it?

I’m installing a mesh system and I’ve read Sonos doesn’t work well with mesh. I was told to hard wire what I could with Ethernet, but when I do I get an error?

Arc Ultra dirrerent volumes is driving me nuts

The kids watch Netflix series, when there's music and a bit of action it sounds WAY too loud. When there's only conversation then it's too quiet.

I only have the Arc Ultra and did the Trueplay finetuning and did not change anything.

I have LG Cx and did not mess with settings on LG or Netflix.

please someone tell me what I can change to get this right, it is driving me nuts

I've been gifted two sonos Era 100. Can I use them to watch movies ?

Hey reddit, sorry if this is not the right sub for this.

I've never used or dealt with sonos, mainly because I feared audio latency.

I've been gifted two Era 100 and I just wander if there is any way to use them to watch movies in a good setting.

I use a projector (input : HDMI with one jack sound output available) and watch both streaming services and local videos using VLC.

Is there a solution, or should I bring them back to the friend who offered it and tell him he'll have a better use than me for them?

Thanks for any help, I'm a bit lost here :)

Alarm issues

I'm traveling right now and have tried searching to no avail.

Apparently my alarm has been going off for 12+ hours. My neighbor doesn't have a key and I'm not comfortable giving him the wifi or how to access the spare.

I can't access the speaker via app since I'm traveling, but I can access my nighthawk router. If I shut off the wifi for the speaker, will that turn off the alarm?

ARC Ultra + Sub Mini music = HORRIBLE

Currently using an ARC Ultra + Sub Mini. I reset both devices twice, didn't do the True Play tuning and listening to Spotify music is atrocious.

Bass sounds absolute terrible. It's basically non-existant and tiny, but then kicks in every few seconds, overshadowing everything. Even on Sub -5. The Ultra on it's own with the Sub deactivated and on +2 Bass sounds lightyears better. So even without True Play tuning there is something very strange going on here. Guess I need to fix my Wifi, right?

All-in-One Music + Home theater set-up help

Hopefully an easy answer for the experts here

Current Set-up: Samsung Q90 + Klipsh R-51m bookshelf speakers + Denon X550 AVR

Issue:

  1. Dialogue tad difficult to hear given lack of center channel
  2. Not "smart" - no voice assistant, doesn't integrate with rest of apartment smart speakers

Goal:

  1. Not sacrifice (at least not much) the soundstage of a 2.0 system - I really enjoy my music.
  2. Clearer dialogue for movies/shows
  3. Make it 'smart' -
    1. Play music on home theater set-up + smart speakers (homepods/echos) across the apartment
    2. Voice activated - "hey alexa, play music everywhere"
    3. If i'm only playing music, hopefully I don't need to turn on the TV

Options (at least what I think they are):

  1. Sonos soundbar - Improve dialogue, solves 'smart' goal, but sacrificing soundstage?
  2. Sonos amp - Replace Denon AVR, solves my 'smart' goal and maintains music quality, but still missing center channel dialogue... Also the price...

Or ??? I'm not sure if there are better options or am I just trying to solve for the impossible trinity? Just referencing Sonos here but I'm guessing there are other alternatives?

Living in a small 700 sqft apartment in VHCOL overseas so unfortunately looking for an 'all-in-one' solution for this home theater + music set-up

Two analogue speakers into connect

Hey there, I’ve got a connect and two analogue speakers that connect via speaker wire.

Is there a way to get these to work with the connect?

I’ve bought some wire to RCA adapters but doesn’t look like they get enough power?

Sub gen 3 @ $600 usd or sub mini @ $377 usd

For context - I have arc and 2 era300. Based out of US, but converting the price to usd for ease of reference. Feels like gen 3 is more value but wife is leaning towards the outlaying the least amount of dough possible. Thoughts?

Another Saturday night wrestling with Sonos

My Roam will play music—but only by itself. The dreaded unable to connect try again later when I try and add other speakers. Any ideas? We just want some slow jams and sweet sweet loving, not technology mood kills.

Can’t get surrounds working with beam

I’ve got a gen 1 beam and 2 x play:1s. Were working fine for years when we were at our old house. Moved here, set up the beam on my new wifi, works ok with the TV. I add the play:1s to the system and they seem to add alright (but holy fuck the app is slow). Then after it prompts me if I want to add the play:1s as surrounds then I hit yes (and wait even more time), that finishes and then both play:1s appear as disconnected. What gives?? Driving me nuts.

Arc Ultra with Sub Gen 2

Hey everyone, just recently purchased the arc ultra with a pair of 300’s. I had a gen 2 sub and a pair or play ones before. I’m trying to connect the gen 2 sub with the arc and it is able to connect to it but no sound is coming from it even with checked on. When I disable it the lower tones comes back from the arc ultra. I believe it’s a cross over problem? I seen someone post about this on the forms and his only real fix was reconnecting over and over. I can connect the sub to the pair of era 300’s but just the arc is the problem. Has anyone else been running into these problems as well

Has anyone else gotten a “pop” while listening to their new Arc Ultra?

It has only happened a few times and I didn’t have the original Arc to know if it’s the same thing I’ve heard they sometimes experience but found it odd. System setup Arc Ultra + Era 300s + Sub gen 3 all connected to ATV4K.

Era 100 direction as surrounds

I’m sure this has been answered but I struggled to find.

In a situation, like in our bedroom, where era 100s are being used as surrounds on stands on the same wall as the bed, which way should they face?

In other words, they are not behind at all, rather they’re right in line with the viewers. Should they face the viewers, or the front of the room?

I know the sub ultra will only get better!

I look forward to upgrading in a year or so once the bugs are fixed. I still think being an early adopter is very cool, the image is not serious lol

Is there anyway to get the Mac App out of the "We needed to get Sonos on the latest software" state?

Used to be the only consistent way to control my system. But now more frequently than not the Mac app shows me this.

Ive tried a few of the shown options and nothing seems to work.

Restablecer sonos ARC (Reset)
