Need sound recording enhanced and noise removed

Hi all,

I have a sound recording of a conversation but it was taken in a car with some background music playing and so, some words are not clear. Could anyone suggest a way to clean up this recording, as in increase volume and remove/muffle background noise? Im willing to pay some money to have this done.

Team of students at John Hopkins tries to reduce noise from leaf blowers

I found this really cool. Here is the video of the students explaining what they were trying to achieve and the challenges associated with it.

Burning matches thrown into water bowls..

..sound like the perfect electronic snare. Try it, the best bowl is actually a toilet, no joke.

Since I lack good recording equipment, does anyone have some ideas how to synthesize this? I'd really like to know why it is so punchy.

Thanks in advance.

What do artists hear in in-ears?

When it comes to performers using in-ears, are they able to hear sound techs at all, or is it only a click track/themselves/metronome?

I'm sorry if this is a stupid question :)

I don't want to throw away my home theater

Hello, I have an old Sony home theater system (like the one in the photo), but I just don't use it because the device itself is too big, I would like to know if there is a way to use the speakers with another device or something, I really wouldn't like to throw it away because it sounds perfect, and I want to use it in my room.

Sound cutting out at high pitches

Yeah that's basically the problem. When using sound recording like praat or even the regular windows sound recorder the sound randomly cuts out at high pitches/ vocals. If you are regularly talking etc it records like normal.

Edit: i went to settings, system/sound/ more sound settings/ recording/ (your device) / advanced and turned off enable audio enhancements Then it worked.

MLV solutions to wall

as a sound proofing solution, I typically see large bulky MLV sheets being attached to walls by using a stapler gun. I'm thinking of cutting them into smaller pieces like blocks and using heavy duty velcro straps, to attach them to the walls and weird smaller areas. making the process more convenient and modular. is this a thing ? is doing it like this not as effective for sound reduction or yea?

What makes one speaker better than the rest?

Hey y’all,

Title says it all. Let’s assume that we had a bunch of speakers that were all perfectly EQ’d (to the best extent) to be flat-sounding. What differentiates and sets apart one speaker from the next one? Do imaging and clarity go beyond just frequency response?

Remove noise from audio recording

I have a video recording with beautiful nature sounds in the background, only recorded using the cameras inbuilt microphone. However, once every 10-20 seconds or so, the birds and cars in the background are disturbed by the awful sound of the cameras autofocus. Is there any way to remove this sound while still having the ambient sound there, maybe by using some sort of AI?

Any sort of help would matter a lot, thank you

Noise comes out from the speaker when I play games, PC

Hi!

First of all, I have no knowledge on the subject, so I appreciate any help, advice, or ideas. I have a desktop PC for which I bought a studio subwoofer and 2 studio speakers for Christmas, so I put together a 2.1 set. I connected the computer to the subwoofer with a jack cable, and then the subwoofer to the speakers. But I had a serious problem, noise is generated with any game, the more the video card works, the more serious the noise. The noise changes by adjusting the graphic settings. Adjusting the volume has no effect on the noise, the noise is heard even at 0 volume. I tried several cables. Cheap USB sound card. Plug the speakers into another outlet. I tried the motherboard's integrated jack, then bought a sound card, but the noise remained. After much searching, I tried the following setup. The sound comes out digitally from the PC to a cheap DAC with an RCA cable to the subwoofer, so the noise is eliminated. But with this method, the sound quality also audibly deteriorated for me (I have normal hearing). So my question is what can be done or bought to improve the sound quality. I was thinking of getting a more serious DAC.

Does a microphone like this exist?

Basically, I am searching for a handheld, wireless microphone (in appearance similar to a standard one a singer or presenter would use)

However, instead of projecting noise outward the way those mics would, I want this to record audio internally - for me to then use as an MP3 file in editing.

Does this exist? I have searched everywhere.

Looking for a specific type of sound effect

I hear it often on youtube creators when someone is angry, and I also just heard it on a new family guy commercial. It has a high pitch to it, and it goes up and down, then repeats. I hope that makes sense. I looked for over an hour but I just do not know the correct term for the effect.

Thanks for any and all help.

volume problems

Hello, I have a problem with my input volume, where every time I restart my pc my input volume resets to 75%.

I am not sure how long this problem has been going on, but I recently started recording and noticed that my voice was very quiet. ( I use Win11, idk if that helps)

I appreciate every help, thanks in advance.

I need help with finding affordable hardware for transcribing interviews

Maybe here someone can help me. I need to write down interviews from audio and even though I can do it using VLC player (which allows me to slow down audio, and roll it forward/backward) i would really like something more convenient, like hardware with knob that would allow me to backward/forward audio, ideally with some additional buttons for pause/play options. is there such a thing that I do not need to program myself?

Soundsystem only using 2 speakers - Windows trough HDMI in TV to Sony BDV E4100

Hello fellows, im having problems to set up my Sony BDV E4100.

My current setup is Windows 10 on HP Omen 15 Laptop GTX1060M connected with HDMI to Samsung UE55RU7379UXZG and the TV has a connecting with HDMI ARC to the Sony System. Using Equalizer APO with Peace installed.

All used HDMI cables should be certified for the usage, at least what Amazon is saying.

I'm so far that if i use Media Player with some Dolby Atmos / Digital Test Trailer he is using all 5.1 speakers. But if i use Amazon Music or some other Source wich is not giving out some Dolby Atmos or Dolby Digital Signal my Sound System is only using 2.1. When im playing these test trailers my tv is changing directly from PCM to Dolby Digital and all speakers are in use.

The Sound System has some option that i can copy FR and FL speaker to the rest (CE/RR/RL) but for this i need to go in to the onscreen menu in the right HDMI signal and change the settings. Thats very uncomfortable if u'r using all kinda apps in the Daytime.

So in the end i was wondering if i can force the signal wich is coming out from my laptop to be some kinda Fake Dolby Atmos / Dolby Digital that the Sound System will use all speakers 5.1 not only 2.1. I dont test Dolby Home Theater settings in Windows Sound Panel because its not showing up even after reinstall Realtek Drivers i know there is some issue with Nvidia Drivers.

Maybe someone have some solution to my problem, i would be very greatfull because its giving me a really hard time.

buzzing, humming or vibrating sound

okay so i’m on an absolute manhunt for this sound for the last 48 hours 💀 im losing sleep over it fr

here are ways i can describe the sound :

  • it is ONE single note pitch
  • it mimics that of a bee, mosquito or fly buzzing right in your ear
  • if i recall correctly, it sounds like there are synthesizers on top of it that fill your ears with what feels like bass, but it’s not bass there’s no distinctive beat inside of it.

i’ve recognized it’s used in reels or tiktok’s talking about dissociating and such, but to no avail i have yet to find it in even a single tiktok in my search 🥲 again, no beat. no other notes, it’s ONE single note pitch, as in it doesn’t change or create any form of rhythm. it’s quite literally a sustained buzzing note 😭 i sound like im going crazy but ive GOTTA find this sound so i can gather my inspiration from it 😂

Connect speakers to PC

Hello!

I want to connect two regular speakers that only have speaker wires to my pc, I know I could use a regular receiver but they are very big and expensive. So I was wondering if there is a cheaper but more importantly more practical solution since I only need left / right channels and no SW or surround.

Thanks!
