It's been a while since i read the original run of the comics and i absolutely loved it. I also read some of the other comics and while i liked some of them, i thought some of them weren't as good. I couldn't find any reviews about the comics so i wanted to ask here. Which comics do you guys think are good? And which aren't worth reading?
I know I am.
Tick used a viewmaster in some of his first comics.

Those who really like the Tick and do you agree with the list?
Here’s the first story from the highlight reel- enjoy!
It’s probably easier for me to just post it directly here. They showed a new short by Eli 5 Stone and I filmed the first minute or so…
He did the voice of The Tick for the animated show, my favorite Tick related thing. I can't wait to hear his real voice and maybe his Tick voice too. Retrocon is at The Greater Philly Expo Center in Oaks, PA Sept 7-8.
Cannot find a gray version of this guy anywhere and frankly he looks unpainted in places. Any idea if this is valuable, or if I'm just bad at google?
Hello fellow Tick fans!
I've a couple burning questions from the original comic book era. Sorry my details are fuzzy on this, but any help would be GREATLY appreciated!
In 1990s, prior to issue 12's release, I remember owning a copy of Comics Buyers Guide, or similar publication, in which they'd print synopses of upcoming issues of comics, similar to TV Guide.
Issue 12 hadn't come out yet, and maybe not even 11 or 10...but I remember a printed synopsis, talking about supposed plot lines that would occur after Tick and Arthur resettled in NYC and formed a super team. I totally forget the specifics...
LONG SHOT, I wondered if anyone still has any publications like that or somehow remembers what was printed? I assume the information was given from Mr. Edlund himself, or NEC. And I don't know if that storyline material ever found its way into other comics or TV versions of the Tick. Super curious!
Question 2...does anyone still have the code cypher that came with signing up for the fan club? Lengthy chunks of interview and other info were printed in some later issues of the Tick, and now I've no idea what they say. Again, thanks.
Spoon!
Okay maybe its a bit too far of a stretch but i say its a golden fancy version of Arthur closing out the 2024 games. 😂
Hello everyone. Sorry, I'm sure a lot of post like these have been made before, just wanted to share how strange this show was for me. For the first few episodes, I really didn't get into it, but after like episode 3, all the weirdness just clicked for me, in the most amazing, nicest way. I've seen it with my gf, and we had so much fun. The writing, acting, music, directing, everything was so nicely done, and the show was literally swimming in potential. It got me extremely sad when I found out it was cancelled
Which made me think, if you had the chance to bring it back, but on a very low budget, what would you do? My idea is honestly very childish and dumb, but I just wanted to have some discussion, so here it is
In order to get the budget tighter, and to explain why everyone has aged without a timeskip, what I would do is use Superion to explain it. He gets captured, and they would make him ask what would he chose. To have him executed by a fast aging product, or have the creatures he loved so much be punished in his stead. At first, he would chose the rapid aging option, but as he gets older and older, the more scared he gets, and out of desperation, he would beg for the second option. The premise of this would be a sort of punishment, that would turn everyone on Earth animated.
This could create a lot of interesting and creative scenarios, where people wouldn't recognize each other first, and could have a lot of jokes about it. This would of course allow Tick to be huge too, like he was in the comics and the original cartoon series. I would do this for 2 seasons, to save money, have a way to explain characters aging, and have it reversed in the final season where Superion would finally redeem himself, with the help of the Tick.
How would you explain the aging? Would you have any storylines in mind?
Did my best, kind of knew what I wanted, turns out I suck. But here it is anyway. Spoooooooon!
