It does say and show that it's worn down and scratched up, but does it seem like it's the actual figure?
People be killing each other instead of ready spice and wolf what a shame I also got my vol 1 wet before I was able to get contact paper everyone mourn my loss 🥲
I just really wanted to appreciate just how strong the Spice and Wolf fanbase has been. Just a little bit ago I took a look at a bunch of the yearly best girl contest over and r/anime just out of curiosity and it was really amazing to see that despite spice and wolf being such a old anime/LN and despite it being such a niche story so many of us constantly come together to agree that Holo is best girl for such an extended period of time. It was regularly in the final brackets EVERY YEAR and the few times it wasn't it was always knocked out by a super top contender really late into the game. I know its not a big indicator but this along with alot of other things such as the consistent active community, the fact we convinced the author to continue the story again after he ended it, the fact that 15+ years of copium ended up working out on our end to get a remake that seems to be aiming to cover the entire story. It really brings a tear to my eyes and makes me proud to have come to love this series with everyone here. Also this completely unrelated but love this series to death. Only anime that inspired me to buy the LN and not just a few books but the ENTIRE series.
I was wondering what the best place to look for older figures and ships to us would be. I've tried looking on ebay, but without having a specific figure I'm looking for, it gets extremely annoying to sort through all the knock offs or homemade stuff.
So I watched SW‘s old adaption about a decade ago. Completely forgot everything. This time I want to consume the LN. I’m just curious if 17 (the ending?) is a good stopping point or are the books past 17 something that I should read too? Basically im wondering how long of an investment this series will be.
And there ain’t enough of it…
Hey S&W family 🌾🐺
Sorry I repost it because I forget to apply the spoiler filter ! I'm very sorry !
I finally got the Desktop x Decoration figure of Miyuri ! I found it on Vinted only for 20€ ! They fit so well together. I hope we'll got a Lawrence figure to complete the family 🐺
Have a good day/evening!
🌾🐺✨
Work in progress, I've got the other volumes of S&W lying around in another house. Since I don't have them all here yet I had to fill the gap with whatever I had lying around (dictionary and Japanese Studies books in particular 😭)
Just watched 1st and 2nd seasons and have a feeling that story isn't finished. Is it finished in the remake? Which novel volumes does remake cover? And is the remake finished or we'll get more episodes in future?
I'll start with the Manga Collector's Edition. I can't seem to find much information about it other than it's coming out in a few months.
Do we know how many volumes it's going to contain in this collector's edition? It's labeled as Vol. 1 so I'd assume there will be more than one collector's edition. I already own the entire set of the manga but am not missing out on these for the life of me.
When is the exact release date?
Do we know what it looks like?
Now for the light novel. I also want to collect the light novel eventually.
Do we know if there are plans for the Collector's Edition to release in other stores other than Yen Press again? It's WAY too expensive for me to buy from yen press and ship to NZ (Like $275 USD at least)
What is the difference between the manga and light novel? Was the manga a faithful adaption or was it a rather average adaption? Considering it's 16 manga volumes covering 14 or 17 light novels I'd guess it's not the best
What's the appropriatewatch order? S2 OG then remake ep 12 - rest for example.
Hi, I'm watching the anime for the first time, and I can’t help but feel a strong emotional response to the unfolding story. It seems as though I’m witnessing the gradual rise of Christianity, overshadowing the ancient gods in a dramatic narrative. The old deities that once held power and significance are being systematically pushed aside, while sacred texts are being altered under the influence of the church. Even though I know this is a fictional tale, my perspective as a pagan adds a layer of depth to my feelings about the transformation taking place on screen. It’s a poignant reminder of the historical shifts that have occurred, and it deeply resonates with me.
Preface: I have not read any of the S&W volumes(Mostly just an anime over manga person), but I just finished the 25 episodes of the anime on Crunchyroll and absolutely LOVE it!
My main questions are:
TIA <3
Spice and Wolf perfume by Scently! Another unique piece of merch for the collection!
i just saw that light novel is actually better rated than anime itself and i wondreed does the plot get even better after parts that anime has covered? it would be nice to hear that later plot is doing even better when i loved anime too
I recently saw the anime (mix of 2008/2024) and enjoyed it, but I'd like to read it. I saw there were discussions on the LN's vs the manga.
Is the LN a straight up book, no pictures? Because I'm a dumb cave man, and I'd rather have pictures. And if so, how faithful is the manga to the source material? Do they take a lot of liberties? Does it still have a similar ending (no spoilers pls)?
I frequently encounter pretty pictures showing lovely Spice and Wolf collections... So I thought I'd put together my collected works too!
I might give the figures an extra post at some point. Normal manga volumes, light novels and other works by the author have been left out from the photo for now. Apart from that, what's also omitted are a good handful of flyers, pamphlets and postcards containing further short stories. (As a Note: This image contains officially licensed merch, except for the cosplay fanbook, which you can see at the bottom right.)
I would like to remove the price tag sticker from my collector’s edition of spice and wolf. It doesn’t peel off easily and I’m hesitant to use my normal go to of isopropyl alcohol to remove this sticker. Any ideas on how to cleanly remove the sticker without damaging the book underneath?
Florida snow storm gave me a once in a life time opportunity.
Two weeks ago, I picked up the Holo figure that matches Myuri’s at this one Book•Off store in Nagoya. Thought i’d visit again today and found all of these fresh on the shelf, so I guess someone came in recently and sold the collection to the shop. (About $38USD for everything in the photo)
As for showing my personal collection, it’s my currently split between 2 different locations/countries atm, but i hope to start consolidating it soon. Will post other photos when that time comes.
Book•Off is a second-hand/used goods store chain in Japan. Large, with everything from clothes and sports goods to toys, video games, books/manga, you name it. Stores like this are a prime location to find all the cheaper figures that are (usually) available as claw machine and arcade prizes, still unopened and in perfect condition. Instead of gambling at the arcades and spending 500-3000¥ without a guaranteed win, can usually buy most new figures here for around 1000¥ or so.
Once I get my figure I have in the mail, I'm gonna post my collection so far!
