There is an urban legend that tells of a shinigami that can release people from the pain they are suffering. This "Angel of Death" has a name–Boogiepop. And the legends are true. Boogiepop is real. When a rash of disappearances involving female students breaks out at Shinyo Academy, the police and faculty assume they just have a bunch of runaways on their hands. Yet some students know better. Something mysterious and foul is afoot. Is it Boogiepop or something even more sinister...?
All submissions on this subreddit have to be related to the Boogiepop series.

Alguien que tenda o sepa dónde conseguir los escanns de boogiepop en español?
While listening to Shadowgrapher, I would say it is about people and it is mask, but what else, I cannot really imagine yet, it is all pretty much a mystery for me.
I've read 7 volumes of Boogiepop around 3-5 months ago, I've finished the first Embryon part, yet I have started the second one yesterday and I see character that I forgot about, as you all know Boogiepop is character heavy story, yet almost no recaps, for example I am in the part where Tooru (samurai) has only one eye and is making a deal with Kentarou (who owes Kirima Nagi for saving his life), yet I don't remember Kentarou or what Nagi did to save his life, also I don't remember the accident that happened in the 7th volume.
So please, tell me all the important characters and events that happend in the first 7 volumes. >!!<
i was watching ep2 and was rly taken by the bgm in the early scenes... this gorgeous ethereal ambience. was this ever released? whenever i google boogiepop phantom ost, i just get that (rly cool) album w the sugar plant/sadesper record etc tracks lol
Personally I enjoyed the volume far more than overdrive. The interactions between the cast and the mystery surrounding them was very interesting
Hey, new fan here. I started to get into this franchise about a year ago when I watched the 2019 anime. I LOVED the anime not a lot of people did but for me it was AMAZING. Then I watched the older 1998 one and got into the light novel series which was even better. But the English translation only stopped at book 6 and I wanted more. I hate that an anime that has inspired many different works has long been forgotten by most, what's worse is that the anime is so obscure that the fandom is basically nonexistent in certain places which is frustrating because I barely get to talk to other fans about theories, fan art, ships etc that many other fandoms do. I don't know if I'm the only one that feels this way, I really wish that the series was a lot more popular. Sorry for the rant😭
Good morning!
As stated above, today I released the final segment (Chapter 5, Part 5) of our Boogiepop and Others Dramatized Audiobook! In addition, I also created a trailer for the entire audiobook. It's the first video on the playlist that I linked below, and I think it came out really well! 😁
Lastly, I made an enhanced/compiled version of the audiobook that is scheduled to release next week. I re-made the "Introductory" and "Chapter 1, Part 1" sections as I was not happy with them at all. The whole thing ended up being 6 hours, 4 minutes, and 16 seconds!
This audiobook has been exceptionally fun to work on, and both Holly and I are in the beginning stages of planning out our next project as we speak! If you've enjoyed our work on this project then I hope you'll come back for the next one!
For now though, thank you everyone who's followed this series from the beginning! Your kind words of support have meant the world to us!
Sincerely, Ectro’s & Holly! 👁️
The scene in the op between her and Boogiepop never happened :( Maybe we'll see something about this in 2030?
Is there a guide or tutorial to start on Boogiepop? I've been told the whole story is splitted between manga, anime series and novel books and even sequels like Boogiepop Phantom, so what should be the correct order to start?
Thanks

(The last part of it actually came out last week, but I forgot to make this post at that time...)
I'm quite proud of how this chapter came out! I had a lot of fun making it, and working on it helped me to figure out a lot of new techniques (instilling dread in the listener, utilizing background ambiance, line pacing, etc...). I also discovered I have a knack for voicing "evil" characters, and I want to work on more books like this chapter in the future!
I hope you continue to enjoy my future episodes as they continue to be released weekly!
Sincerely, Ectro 👁️
aside from because it eats people e.g. what it did mean during that part when saying girl I forgot name of will become a walking corpse?
Been a long while since I watched the series. I know Boogiepop isn't really horror but I want to promote Boogiepop! What's a good creepy scene, perhaps something Manticore?
Thinking of maybe something from first arc but been a long while since I watched the series. I know Boogiepop isn't really horror but I want to promote Boogiepop! What's a good creepy scene?
Ive always wondered why the anime was listed as avant garde on MyAnimelist , but the LN wasn't. Must have been due to the animation being experimental in general , but idk.
How many volumes are out and how many are translated (doesn't have to be official translations) and what is the current status of the LN, is it still publishing?
I recently started the boogiepop and others anime series n I have enjoyed it. I am looking for a the light novel. Is the physical copy out of print or something?
Well maybe not that extended…. I like the soundscape in this shot.
Gonna give this anime a try. I see a lot of people recommending reading the novels first, but I don't really have the time nor commitment to read the novels. I was planning on just watching the anime, or should I just not bother and revisit Boogiepop some time in the distant future when I will be able to read the novels.
So if I am to watch the anime, should I watch Boogiepop and Others first, or just not bother with it and watch Boogiepop Phantom?
