I've seen very negative opinions on it recently and decided to cancel the order I had placed via eBay, is it really that bad?
Which DVD set do you guys recommend and where on the internet could I get it?
Narratively it wouldn’t make all that sense but suppose they found a way to make it work.
Would anyone ask Buffy to sacrifice herself again? I imagine it’s something that would at least cross the Potentials’ mind once, and it would definitely be brought up in the rift episode that she was expecting everyone to risk their lives when she could fix it just by giving up her own.
I’m not sure if Buffy herself would indulge this idea, she would toy with it but I think it would be established that she was over her depression in season 6 and was fully committed to living her best life.
What I can’t figure out is how the Scoobies would react. Xander, Willow and Dawn would probably reject it throughout, Xander and Willow because bringing her back was their decision and it would be unconscionable to make her pay for it with her life, Dawn because she was the most affected by her death the first time. Giles I’m not sure. He was never on board with the resurrection, and he was all about hard choices that season. I don’t know if he could bring himself to actually say it to her, but I think it would cross his mind.
Hi All
Not sure if this has been asked before but I just wondered who your favourite villians who were not demons.
Mine has to be Ethan Rayne, I don't know why I just love him, he makes me laugh so much and just love the way he bounces off Giles. One of my favourite episodes is Band Candy with him in.
Would like to add R.I.P. Robin Sachs
Like, the reboot has been announced in 2019 or something and I was already like why ? And each year, there's someone talking about how the reboot is in the work or it'll bee soon here but it's never comes (and hopefully, it will never cause we don't need this).
Those past few years we had so much reboots from classics like Charmed, Sex And The City, Gossip Girl, Pretty Little Liars, Winx Club, Archie's comics (Riverdale), Mean Girls,The Craft.... None of them works, they had awful reviews and even by the gen Z standards, they still fell flat.
So, why Hollywood won't let go of Buffy's neck... like girly, leave it alone.
Did anybody read the Fray graphic novel? That would make for a fun tv series
This has probably been asked plenty of times, but do you think the Monks adding Dawn to Buffy and the gangs live changed anything in the timeline.
Example of some stories not happening anymore or happening differently.
Casually watching I Still Know What You Did Last Summer tonight for the first time in about twenty years. As Dave is getting a hook in his chin I'm like woah, that's the janitor from one of my favourite Buffy episodes, 'I only have eyes for you'. Turns out he got Oscar nommed for a movie called The Sessions circa 15 years later. I'm wondering who we have for Buffy actors who got nominated (just for acting). I can think of Amy Adams, Joel Grey, Lindsay Crouse and now apparently John Hawkes.
Basing this on the fact Spike killed two...
If they'd just imprisoned the slayer somewhere to live out her natural life, they'd have like 80, 90 years without a new slayer being called.
Killing one is pretty pointless as she just gets replaced immediately.
Was just watching Will & Grace (S2E23) and saw something very familiar.
...Caleb's character? While it's admittedly my least favorite season -- aside from spike's arc especially at the end and Faith's reappearance -- I never understood why they introduced Caleb in the third half of the season. Is it just to have a tangible Big Bad since The First can't touch/kill anyone itself? If that's the case, why not focus on unleashing more Uber Vamps, etc? It's a moot point, but I can't stand his character and felt it was unnecessarily graphic to have him put out Xander's eye. But totally open-minded on this. Thoughts!?
Although she was a God, she was also somewhat contained in a human body. Did she share the same desires as Ben
We see in the show that Ben tries to date. Did Glory ever seek out any romantic/physical interactions with anyone?
When a man like Giles lights a baseball bat on fire and starts beating your ass with it you know you crossed a line. The way he lights the bat and swings it is so badass.
Graduation Day Part 2 - it's almost a quintessential series finale. The show worked best as a high school show imo. I don't think it should've ended there but it would've been a perfectly complete show if it did.
Chosen - Not a great season, but the perfect end to Buffy's character arc. Not great for the other characters or the interpersonal relationships but Buffy's my favorite anyway so I don't mind. It was just nice to see her finally change the world and be happy at the end.
Primeval - Not gonna consider Restless here because that would be an unhinged series finale. Primeval's the best embodiment of the show's "power of friendship" theme. If the show ends here, it would've been a sweet, funny, mostly lighthearted show about a girl and her friends. (whereas the real ending sort of made it a show about a girl and her destiny) We'd be left sort of wondering about the Dawn foreshadowing though.
Prophecy Girl - Show would've worked ok as a miniseries I guess. There'd be too much curiosity about the future.
The Gift - Terrific episode, but Buffy staying dead for real would've broken my heart, especially after Joyce's death. There'd also be a few loose ends, like the only Slayer left is in prison and Buffy might've ended up in hell because of going through a hellish portal.
Grave - very awkward as a series finale, and season 6 would've been very awkward as a final season. Only "series finale" element was Buffy learning to love life again.
Becoming Part 2 - Depressingly bleak for obvious reasons. The only series finale that would've turned the show into an outright tragicomedy.
I just wanna know the broad strokes. Does Buffy get changed by the series finale and live out her life without the stress of being a Slayer? Do she and the Scoobies stay friends? Does she turn into a cookie and get eaten finally? Does she end up saving the world again and again?
Season 4 is one of those seasons where they were hit with 2.5 unplanned changes
Seth aka Oz asks to leave
Lindsay Crouse aka Maggie Walsh leaves early
.5 - Charisma cant do the finale due to scheduling conflicts
So.....might as well go crazy and think of alternatives for the season in general just for fun:
the biggest one that comes to mind is if Cordelia hadnt gone to Angel, having her and Buffy (and eventually Willow in an apartment style dorm) as roommates would've been fun and a way to bring Cordelia back into the fold.
Having Xander get recruited into The Initiative to give him a stronger storyline that easily ties to Buffy
and of course then theres the bigger ones that keep with what we got:
Oz stays which leads to him/WIllow getting back together and potentially exploring the Xander gay storyline
Maggie stays as originally planned
The main issue I’ve got with some of the big bads is that almost all of them weren’t a actual threat.
Ethan Rayne was a pantomime villain, Maggie Walsh and Adam were both a waste of time, the Mayor was extremely weak, The Master was okay but dull, and Glory was a drama queen.
The only big bad that I truly liked was Angelus, but because Buffy wasn’t on HBO, we weren’t able to see him commit any truly disgusting acts.
I really wish that Buffy would’ve tackle the subject of Terrorism, and have a big bad who’s a true anarchist.
Why not have a half-demon who’s also a terrorist? His name would be Dennis Vaughan, and my idea would be that he’s a old rival of Angel’s, and he’s desperate to take control of the Hellmouth.
Have Dennis set off a number of bombs in Sunnydale, and follow it up with him committing random anarchistic crimes. Angel tries to stop him, but Dennis outsmarts him at every turn, which drives Angel to the point of insanity.
As Dennis’s reign of terror grows worse, the National Guard is brought in to protect residents from the Hellmouth, but a unfazed Dennis doesn’t give a damn, and in response blows up a power plant to make a point.
Eventually, Dennis and Angel have a final showdown, and with the help of Buffy and the Scoobies, Angel achieves ultimate redemption by killing Dennis.
I haven’t figured out the whole story yet, but this would’ve been my idea for a big bad.
