I’m looking to move closer to work (office in Agoura Hills), but rent for an apartment is not affordable.
Does anyone know of a guest house for rent? I only see 1 listed on apartments.com and don’t see any on a regular Google search.
I currently have a one hour commute to work, so it would be perfect if I could move out there.
I’m a female in my 30s, clean, healthy.
There’s a fire in Ventura, is there any smoke in Thousand Oaks right now?
Edit: thanks so much to everyone for your helpful replies!
I purchased a property in Ventura County over 2 years ago and have some very confusing things happening with property tax increases that are over 20% higher than what I have been paying for the past couple years.
I am on the hunt for a super sharp property tax consultant that can help me sort through things as I prepare to meet with the county tax collector.
Please let me know if you have any recommendations.
Thx
Hi everyone, I’m looking for a late night coffee lounge in Thousand Oaks. Preferably with couches and good coffee. Anyone know of anything?

What's a check? My kid is 3 and I don't even know what that is.
Edit: Instead of a chiropractor, can someone recomment me a physiotherapist instead? thank you so much!
Hey everybody! Due to personal commitments, I find myself traveling between Thousand Oaks and LAX at-least once a month. The cab fares (Uber /lyft) are ridiculously expensive and was looking for options to travel cheaper! Are there any alternatives options to commute ?
Additionally, If there’s anyone who’s okay to pick and drop to LAX for a nominal fee (ofcourse cheaper than what is being shown in Uber or Lyft), please feel free to ping me!
Link to the registration form to be in the 2024 Camarillo Christmas Parade, which is run by the Pleasant Valley Recreation & Park District: https://www.pvrpd.org/files/cdc9433eb/2024+Christmas+Parade+Application.pdf
Just asking because I'd absolutely love to see Newbury represented in the Camarillo Christmas Parade due to how many Camarillans have gone to Newbury over the years, including yours truly!
I've also been to the parade a few times in recent years when it's had schools from way further from Camarillo than Newbury is, so Newbury not being in Camarillo wouldn't be a problem at all.
Granted, I have absolutely no idea who to talk to for this if it turns out Newbury isn't yet sending anyone to be in the parade and obviously a month and 10 days is a bit short notice for a lot of its school groups, but I'd be willing to help in any way I could including coming up with the entry fee if needed.
It would make me so, so incredibly happy to see the high school I went to in our Christmas Parade, and you bet it'd make tons of other Camarillans happy, too.
What’s the best angel tree/adopt a family programs in the area? I’m a college student and don’t have much but would like to do my best to give back this year. If anyone knows of any non profits please let me know!
I’m in my late 30’s, I’ve lived in the area most of my life but have found it next to impossible to meet single women. Where does one go?
Is it possible to find a woman in her 30’s-40’s to go out on the town with, share some laughs together, and form a connection?
The Lakes ice rink is never coming back and it was a key memory
What time does trick or treating start in Thousand Oaks? I see stuff online for events and stuff like that, but just taking my kids in the neighborhood, is there an official start time for the city?
Does anyone know a really good area in T.O. ,N.P. , or Westlake?
I’ve been to Three Springs all my life and usually get about 1 1/2 kids bucket of candy with 2 big bars. I don’t really care about the big bars but I do want more candy. Anyone know any better spots than Three Springs?
Hi everyone! Anyone have any recommendations for the best neighborhood in Newbury Park for trick or treating?
Thanks!
The signs are on the sides of the off-ramp, barely noticeable but it’s there.
So please stop honking at the person in front of you, thanks.
For about 6 months now i've been wanting to get a bicycle... i've spent so much time watching videos and researching the model i want but now that i actually have the money for the bike i've chickened out big time. I drove to the Trek store today and sat outside in my car for 20 minutes convincing myself to go in but i ended up driving home. it's quite ridiculous of me lmao.
My biggest holdup is that i just don't have the balls to ride my bike on the road with other cars. And i don't think im allowed to ride on the sidewalks... nor do i even want to if it's frowned upon. there are many roads that don't have a bicycle lane with cars parked on the side so you pretty much have to be right in the road where the cars are going 45-50mph. N Moorpark Rd and Hodencamp Rd are nearby examples like this. And what do i do at a red light? I surely cant accelerate as fast as the cars behind me when the light turns green. I hate this idea. I don't want to drop all this money on a bike and never ride it because im such a big chicken.
Any cyclists here have advice for overcoming this fear?
If you recommend any easy routes i can consider i'd really appreciate it a lot...thank you~
We have tried LA fitness in Agoura Hills and Gold's Gym in Thousand Oaks
Wondering if there's a better, more quality gym in the area?
Relatively new to the area and enjoy making salmon and tuna sushi and sashimi at home. Anywhere in or near TO that you guys can recommend?
Hello neighbors, my girlfriend and I want to walk around a well-decorated neighborhood on Halloween to enjoy the effort people have put into their houses. Unfortunately, it just doesn’t seem like people are as enthusiastic about Halloween anymore, so the decorations have been near non-existent around my part of town. I haven’t seen anything extravagant when I’m passing through other neighborhoods either. So I was wondering if any of you have good decorations in your area and/or where I might find them. Thanks a lot! Stay safe and have a happy Halloween!
This arrived from Amazon yesterday and of course it's smaller than advertised
Hi! I just moved here and am looking to get extensions back in. Anyone know a good stylist?
Has anyone tested for radon (professionally, not retail test) when purchasing a new house or have an idea how prevalent rain is in this area?
I need some advice! I need to get to the Simi Valley Metrolink from Oak Park and I cannot find a cheap route at all. I have this apprenticeship in oak park and I love it. Today was my first day and I could not get back to my job in Granada Hills without paying for a very expensive Uber.
I’m a bit new to the transit in Ventura county as I live in The Valley.
Does anyone happen to know a quick and cheap way to get to the Metrolink? I would be shattered if I had to quit this apprenticeship. It’s really gonna set me up for the future. This is my first big break I’ve gotten in 2 years.
Even transit from surrounding cities to the Metrolink that won’t eat my wallet 🥲
If anyone has any ideas please please please share!!
Thank you!
