Application question

Hello all,
I recently applied to CSUCI on October 1st, however when I check my application status, it says "incomplete" (Out of Incomplete, complete, and admitted) I saw a post from a while back stating that was the default status for all applications, so I was wondering, is this true?
Thank you!

What can I tell my high school kid about the living-on-campus culture at CSUCI?

He is interested in applying but I don't really think he understands what a commuter school is like. If you lived on campus, can you share how much of a typical college and dorming culture he could expect, if he went to CSUCI? tyty

What is the Art program here like?

I've been thinking about pursuing a studio art degree here, mostly because Channel Islands is close by. Any art majors here that want to tell me about their experience?

possible transfer: current first year student with a few questions

possibly long, sorry

i currently attend a private uni near csuci and my sister goes to csuci and is a commuter. at first, i didn’t get such a good aid package (forgot to check what it would’ve costed if i just commuted, my mistake) so i decided to go to cc until the private university offered me more money. going to a 4 year was always my dream so i impulsively accepted and attended. fast forward, i don’t like my school nor feel a part of campus despite my efforts. i’ve gotten involved, made friends, do homework but when you know somewhere isn’t your place, you know it. i am considering transferring.

for refrence, i am a psych and sociology major with minor in public health if this helps. for the most part, the psych department at my school is unorganized and an absolute joke which makes me question if i’m making the right choice for my future. what is the cost like for commuters? i also had a few questions. for those of you who have transferred and from a private university, what’s the process been like? how did you express to your parents you want to transfer? what are the majors listed like?

"CSU Channel Islands (CSUCI) students file $1 million lawsuit against university over handling of protests"-I literally just copy-pasted the title of the video from KCAL News. I'm actually just a CSUCI alum, but I figured you'd find this interesting.

Boost Ordering (Late Night Dining)

I was trying to add my campus card to the Boost Ordering App. It asks for my email and my "Meal Plan #"
I want to use my flex cash so I don't have to spend my regular money on food.
Does anyone know how to add the card and where I pick up my food after I order it?

Online BA Psych Program?

Hey everyone!

I’m planning to transfer to CSUCI into the fully online BA in Psychology program Fall of 2025, mainly because I’m a caretaker for my mom and need the flexibility that online courses offer. However, I’m also aiming for grad school, so research experience is really important to me. My goal is to become a Clinical Psychologist.

For those of you currently in the online psych program, are there any research opportunities available? I wouldn’t mind making the drive to campus if that’s necessary to gain research experience.

Can anyone share their experience or advice on getting involved in research as an online student? Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Online classes

HI! I am currently enrolled in Csuci and have online and in-person classes. Supposedly, it started today (online), August 24, but I haven't heard from my professors yet. I am not sure how things work around here.

When I was in Moorpark, I received the syllabus a week before the classes start. So I am a bit concerned as to why my professors have not reached out to me yet.

Is there a way to bypass a prerequisite?

Hello all,

I’m here to ask if anyone has experience on this.

I’m a sociology major, started in the fall of 2021. But, I was silly and went from being an IT major to an Early childhood studies major. Most of the 2021 class are supposed graduate in 2025. I’m predicted for fall of 2026.

I was looking at the degree planner, and if I were to say bypass the prerequisite and take both sociology 311 and 315 together, I’d be able to knock down capstone 1 during the fall of 2025. Then take capstone 2 during spring 2026. I’d be happy to finish my the spring as my financial aid would have run out.

Is there any possible way to bypass the prerequisite? Or am I screwed.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Student email

I’m a recent graduate and was wondering if there’s a way to keep the student email or if it automatically deletes after a certain amount of months.

If anyone can give any info on that, thanks

Does any one know what that spiral thing on campus is?

Past the cafeteria if you go down that long hallway there’s a nice little area with a garden and some seating. But what is that spiral thing in the ground made out of brick and dirt ?

Sophia.org or Study.com credits transferable to CSU CI?

I'm just at the beginning of exploring an online degree, and two websites continuously appear regarding completing core or lower level courses at very reasonable prices. Has anyone ever used these toward completing a degree at CSU CI? thanks!

Difficulty cancelling housing contract?

Hi - I'm curious if anyone has experience canceling their housing contract in the middle of a semester or between semesters without paying the entire year commitment. Will CSUCI approve leaving on campus housing for financial difficulties or health issues?

Does anyone know what is up with the accept/deny awards?

I am going to be a Fall Transfer and am not sure if being unable to accept/deny the financial aid awards is normal? Are we only able to view them currently? If so, does anyone have any idea when about we will be able to accept/deny?
