/r/SFV - subreddit for the 818 - San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles, CA
If you're interested in the many obscured gems around the San Fernando Valley, you're in the right subreddit.
From Glendale to Calabasas, we are “The Valley.” Home to Universal Studios & Citywalk, Mission San Fernando, NoHo Arts District, Van Nuys Japanese Garden, O'Melveny Park, Warner Brothers, NBC, CBS and Disney (ABC) studios. We produce and film nearly 90% of all legally distributed pornographic films made in the United States…and we like it that way.

Is that a satellite next to the moon??
Outside of my complex Warner Village on MaryLee St. Across from Warner Park, Woodland Hills.
Looking for a veterinary ophthalmologist. I found a few but wanted to see if anyone can recommend any they loved?
I was planning to go to veterinary eye clinic in calabasas. If anyone has been there can you tell me what you thought of them?!
My birthday is next week and I want to go out and have fun with some friends. I love farmers markets, outdoor music stuff, picnics, etc. Unfortunately everything happening is Christmas themed. Does anyone know any events that aren't super heavily Christmas? I'm fine with like lights and stuff I just don't want Santa breathing down my neck.
I managed to pull the image from the other post and uploaded with a service request. It got removed this morning.
People said that they work fast and apparently they do lol. Noticed that the email even references the actual lettering in the tag😂
Or websites that give reviews for daycare centers funded by CCRCCA Thanks

Walked out of school just to tag the store nextdoor. First time seeing anyone tag and in broad daylight with heavy traffic.
Any recommendations for top quality dog care in the area?
Just discontinued my patronage from Veterinary Medical Center Woodland Hills. This place has fallen apart since Dr. Kunin retired; Analicia Rogel, DVM is a train wreck.
Does anyone go to or know of a gym in the valley that has a Jacob’s ladder. I’ve been to several 24 hour fitnesses, LA fitnesses and athletic society and have yet to find a Jacob’s ladder.
I've seen a post or two on r/LosAngeles about pop-up holiday bars and almost all were over the hill. I found one in Santa Clarita which is a little more convenient. I think Casa Vega in Sherman Oaks also has something going on as well. Was wondering if anyone in this sub had a list of pop-up holiday bars in the SFV? There's a Daily News article floating around but it's paywalled and I can't get around it. Here's the link in case anyone's interested. Happy Holidays!
What is going on this week in the 818?
Our cat got out on accident around 8PM last night, Sunday Dec 1, near 6010 Colfax Ave - Cross street Oxnard.
She is an indoor only cat and extremely scared/skittish. She will not let you grab her and will run. Treats and baby talking might entice her a bit.
We are extremely worried and distraught, if you see her please let us know. We did place a litter box outside, worn clothes and bowl of wet food to help guide her back . Our neighbor also has a trap up for her. We also passed out and put up about 100 flyers. She has been posted to every app as well.
Female, tuxedo cat - Black with white chin, paws and tummy. Approx 5-6 years old and under 10 lbs. Chipped and fixed but has no collar as she is indoor only.
Please help us and let us know if you see her. My husband and I are a complete mess and want our baby back home. She's a very spoiled girl and very picky with who she trusts. We've had her about 5 years and we worked hard to earn her love and trust and miss her like crazy.

Am I crazy to think 15-20k, some blood and sweat might turn my SFV garage into a 1 room recording studio?
Ideally that 20k gets me double drywall w green glue (no room within a room) onto the existing studs, some electrical, door, HVAC.
My mentor has built many studios in the valley and said that with a concrete floor, and double drywall, your probably gonna be good if your not playing drums at 1am. I’ve talked to him a lot about this but still reaching out to the greater circle.
I think at the end of the day though I’m just trying to get a place that I can work during normal hours, record, and maybe do some work at night at a respectable level without pissing off anyone. My sound system is super large and full range though. So no matter what, I’m still putting a Ferrari onto the RC track….but it’s down to self control here.
Home is old but in good condition. 1944 constructed. Detached garage, pretty much like every single one you’d find in the SFV.
Mostly producing, mixing. Frequent vocal recording, some instrument tracking, rarely drums, but sometimes.
Best way to get to JPL from San Fernando valley ? Public transportation
We are The Glendale Guardians and we are a men's 35+ fast pitch baseball team entering the Los Angeles Baseball League www.labl.org in the continental division.
We practice Wed and Fri 430 to 630 and games will start in March on Sunday mornings. Season is March to September.
Must be 35 by end of 2025 to qualify for the old fart league
Keep in mind this is fast pitch real baseball not some beer league where wins don't matter. We're here to win the division crown and take home that trophy. This is competitive baseball (well as competitive as we can get at our age without injury lol).
Fees are as follows: $154 uniform $250 League fee (half held as nonrefundable deposit to prevent last minute drop outs) Game days the umps are paid $120 by each team the day of (usually anywhere from 6 to 15 dollars depending on how many make the game that day).
Come relive your little League glory days as an old fart and let's win some games!

Let's play ball!
My mom will be turning 41 in January and I honestly have no idea what to get her. I was thinking of doing something with her like a restaurant experience or maybe even a museum but I'm gonna be away for school during that week. I might take that weekend off to come over and visit so if any of you have recommendations of things I could either do with her in the area or buy her I would really appreciate it! My budget is $200 and I'm not 21 yet so I cannot buy her alcohol or take her to a bar or anything like that. Thank you in advance!
Hello,
My mom just opened up a restaurant and it was a take over for a previous owner. Now that we set up our internet, the security system is not working. I was wondering if anyone can help me find someone who can set it up for us? Please advise.
Thank you in advance!
Hi, I'm in the Sun Valley area and need a housekeeper for my ~1600 SQ foot home. Looking for someone affordable for either a standard or deep clean bi-weekly. Any recommendations?
It is 3 bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms
Hey! I’m looking for a room: something central or centrally located in the valley! Need to move in by Jan 1 but open to asap or anytime in between. Budget is 1350 or less (hopefully less)!
Areas I’m open to: Sherman Oaks, Studio City, Noho, or anything central to valley and accessible enough to other parts of LA!
About me: 26f, Pilates instructor and nanny, big goals, moved here a few months ago, I’ll have a cat with me in a few weeks, he’s very friendly and clean!
