Vinum Sabbathi.
Welcome to the Doom Metal Sub
Doom metal is an extreme form of heavy metal music that typically uses slower tempos, low-tuned guitars and a much "thicker" or "heavier" sound than other metal genres. Both the music and the lyrics intend to evoke a sense of despair, dread, and impending doom. The genre is strongly influenced by the early work of Black Sabbath, who formed a prototype for doom metal with songs such as "Black Sabbath", "Electric Funeral" and "Into the Void".
During the first half of the 1980s, a number of bands from England (Pagan Altar, Witchfinder General), the United States (Pentagram, Saint Vitus, Trouble) and Sweden (Candlemass, Count Raven) defined doom metal as a distinct genre.

FAQ
Can I post something if it's not doom metal? Yes! We like proto-doom, sludge, stoner rock, heavy psych, and other "low an' slow" stuff from bands that aren't considered doom metal.
How should I tag my post? Tag it how ever you want, but this is what we think works best. "Artist - Song Title [style, country, year]" (without the quotes)

Found that I am going to die. What are the best doom songs about impending death so I can relate/cope?
Any feedback is good feedback
Such a fun heavy riff to play
Lankum blew my mind earlier this year when I first heard them. Are there any other cool doom-ish folk bands out there?
I also dig Chelsea Wolfe, Emma Ruth Rundle, Emily Jane White, and Thou's acoustic stuff.
Can people recommend further?
Thanks!
Yo I got a sick late 80s Laney AOR pro tube 50w for sale in Atlanta. Everything works.
Did they have any records for sale? I’m seeing them next week and really hoping to snag A Pyrrhic Existence
Was all set to see HoF for the first time but I have double pink eye. Does anyone want a free ticket for the show? Edit: ticket taken!
For those who don't know it's a faithful recreation of the Electro-Harmonix Civil War Big Muff Pi from the 1990s but I hear these are made better
Saw Part Chimp, I was near the front. Loved it. Now, my right ear is ringing and feels like it’s full of cotton wool. I will probably buy some noise limiting earplugs for future gigs, but I am wondering, fellow amp stack enthusiasts: Is this normal? Am I fucked? Will my ear heal?
How long did your ears ring after a gig and did they go back to normal?
3-piece post-metal/ doom — practice in Brooklyn weekly. Must be able to blast as well as lay back in the cut. Hit my DM’s and I’ll send over tracks
I need some 12 inch speaker recommendations to put in this thing for some heavy low end while still remaining clear and cutting through. I’m thinking about going with 2 swamp thangs and 2 creamback 75s. Does anyone have other good doom speaker recommendations, or any experience with swamp thangs and/or creambacks?
Followed this guy home today and had to chase him down for some much deserved love.
