/r/occultrock
The unholy intersection of psych rock, doom and retro heavy metal. Sing praise to Lucifer.
Occult Rock originated thanks to the likes of Black Sabbath and Coven in the late 60s/early 70s who combined psychedelic rock with occult themes.
In recent times there has been a revival movement of such sounds, fronted by bands such as Ghost, Jex Thoth, Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats, The Devils Blood, Blood Ceremony and many more. Trad doom and retro-metal is closely tied to this scene and is welcome here.

I’ve been eating up late 60’s-early 70’s occult rock lately. I’ve gone through Black Widow, Coven, Jacula, and Lucifer’s Friend (not super occult rock anyway but the name came up in my search).
More specifically, the album Sacrifice by Black Widow is an absolute monster. It’s one of the best albums I’ve ever heard and I am hungry for more like it

Hello all, hoping this is the right sub for this question. I’m just starting my journey of going through the Jacula/Antonius Rex discography. Wikipedia says his last albums were Pre Viam (2011 under the name Jacula) and Hystero Demonopathy (2012 under Antonius Rex). I have these albums and am ready to end the discography on them.
Interestingly, the Jacula website says, when you look at the discography section, that they released a “Mystic Voices” in 2017, “Leges Non Audit” in 2018, and In Sanguine in 2019. I can’t find any info on these albums online or on soulseek. Do they not exist? Just need to make sure I don’t miss anything

You Already Know - The Brine Salter
Just got started on my music career been studying music theory for several years been trying to find my voice as well as my audience.
I posted a rock song I made while high earlier this week and wanted if anyone wanted to listen what people thought about the song, I am thinking about doing more psychedelic rock as part of an album and want to hear people's thoughts on the song, I am a massive pink floyd fan and King Gizzard fan and wanted to give it a try as it's always been my dream, if you see this and don't have the song hear it is, any criticism would be appreciated, but at the end of the day I am making music for fun and just want to do something with my time
