This is the representation I want as a South Asian woman. I loved watching this interview sheâs really captivating and has been on the right side of this issue since the beginning of her educational career! Itâs awesome that Apple didnât want her on the show they had with John and he had her on as soon as he got his show back! Love well intentioned Asian woman!

If you're subscribed to r/asiantwoX, you might already realize that America and its Anglo allies have declared economic war on Asian economies, most notably and currently China (following victory over Japan in the 1980s). I have spoken with people who engage in economic and geopolitical forecasting, and I'm here to tell you that things are going to get worse. For one thing, I am told that the TikTok ban is expected to be passed by the end of the year, and it won't be limited to TikTok. I am also told that corrupt American politicians and their lazy business lackeys are pushing for a removal of China's most-favored-nation status with the WTO.
This should be obvious, but we need to side with our Asian brothers and sisters against the neo-colonial, Anglo rapists (economic and literal). Again, I cannot emphasize this enough: these racists' hatred isn't limited to China or Chinese people. It knows no national boundaries and is part-and-parcel with the wave of hate crimes targeting Asian Americans in recent years. I anticipate an acceleration of anti-Asian American ethnic cleansing efforts by the American government and private institutions. Companies already refuse to hire Asian Americans at par with other Americans of comparable ability.
Here's how I am responding and how I encourage others to respond: support Asian-owned businesses in any way possible. Stop giving your money to neo-colonial rapists who are trying to exterminate us. STOP. GIVING. YOUR. MONEY. TO. PEOPLE. TRYING. TO. EXTERMINATE. US. This means to stop attending American sporting events or watching the NFL/NBA/NHL, stop watching non-Asian shows on television/streaming services. Better yet, cancel your Amazon/Netflix/Apple subscriptions. Don't buy a fucking Tesla or other American EV. (Replace it with Hyundai or a Chinese/Vietnamese EV if you can get one.)
Here's how this looks in my life: My phone is Samsung. My computer is Asus, with AMD and NVIDIA chips. I use DoorDash, Chowbus, or Weee! for food and grocery delivery. For beverages, I choose among Sans, Sool, Sanzo, Hummy, Dokkaebier, Lunar, and others. For furniture, I buy Zinus, Outer, or Silk and Snow. I buy Italic clothing. I buy kitchen equipment from Material. I rely on Blueland for all household cleaning products. I use Monos luggage. For everything else, I have replaced ALL of my Amazon purchases with Temu purchases.
That's just my physical possessions. On my phone, I have the following apps: Notion, Coupang, Zoom, TikTok, SHEIN, Kin, Coffee Meets Bagel, Temu, Opendoor, coursera, NerdWallet, moomoo, Webull, and Vinovest Portfolio. I don't even like/have much use for some of these (never managed to sync up with TikTok's algorithm, for example). But I still support them because they're an Asian-founded company.
Tl;dr: America and other Anglo nations are at war with the Asian diaspora, and we need to start acting like it in terms of how we spend our money and buy EXCLUSIVELY from Asian-owned brands.

I have a fear my mom got me too dependent on her and I want to learn to be independent on my own. Iâm tinkering with moving out of state. If you did this before how did it go and was it worth it?

Yeah, title says it all. Iâm an indian-american woman, and I was so appalled to see the recent Spanish influencer gang rape case where a travel/lifestyle/relationship influencer was gang raped, assaulted, and robbed by like 7 or 8 indian men â right in front of her partner â while on a trip to India.
I find it so absurd and ridiculous that RIGHT after this happened (i donât even think itâs been a full week), south asian men are SPRINTING to say, âwah wah not AAAALLLL South Asian mennnnâ. Zero fucking solidarity for south asian women. Zero fucking acknowledgement that India has a real rape culture problem. Zero fucking accountability for the way sexism is so baked into the culture and has influenced the diaspora as well. Nope, instead itâs deflection and immediate strategizing about how to mend their image so they can date white women.
Iâm so fucking tired of the whining about not being good enough for white women, or dating, or whatever. I made the mistake of going to the r / South Asian Masculinity sub and got even more angry by what I saw. They just make it all about themselves. They donât give a fuck about us. Itâs like, even when the evidence is right in front of everyone, all they can muster up is, âwell actually, India has a billion people so by sheer numbers itâs going to look like a lotâ.
âŚMeanwhile thatâs literally not how percentages and rates work, and the actual rate of rape in India is high as hell compared to many other countries. Itâs just total bullshit. You say, âsaying indian men perpetuate rape culture is racist stereotypingâ, I raise, âwhy donât you ask your own mothers and sisters what they think.â
Iâm sick of the excuses. Iâm sick of the entitlement they have to us. Honestly, Iâm so over the culture. Everything is rising to a boiling point and this is basically the last straw. I fucking want out of this nasty culture.

Hello Everyone, I am Ekshita, a masterâs student at Lund University, Sweden. I am currently writing my thesis on the Blame Your Mama trope in popular culture, specifically the movie Everything Everywhere All At Once (2022). I am looking to speak to mothers who have watched the film and would like to speak about their experiences of motherhood in the context of the film and popular culture in general as well. Your identities will be completely anonymous, and you will be provided with a proper briefing about me as a researcher and the study in general as well. The interviews will be on Zoom! If this sounds interesting to you or you would simply like to contribute to the understanding of mother blame, please reach out! The only criterion is that you are a mother who has watched the film Everything Everywhere All At Once. Hope to hear from you all! Cheers!
