A while ago, i was on TPN Unofficial wiki, and i read that Kaiu Shirai is a Christian.
Now, i was pretty excited to hear that: i'm a christian myself, but i'm starting to doubt about if he actually is.
So, is Kaiu Shirai christian?

Should I keep going? I didn't realize there were twenty volume this series, not that I'm complaining. I think of what I read volume 4 was the best so far. Incredibly fast paced. The first three were a bit too slow
Sorry for being late

Heyaaa! I'm new to this reddit thread but I just wanted to share something I've recently noticed (I'm not sure if it's been mentioned before or not). I find the detail of the higher the rank a demon is, the more they are human-like so cool. It really adds to the true extent of their status and wealth, and just how messed up the whole thing is. The saying: "you are what you eat" got represented somewhat literally but in the best way.

Some time ago I put in my mind that I wanted to collect a manga series. It had to be a smaller collection, since my funds are very limited. I did some research on manga whose anime I hadn't read and that were between 10 to 20 volumes long The Promised Neverland was the one that stood out, since I had already heard about it when season 1 of the anime came out, but didn't saw it then, and when season 2 came, it was terrible (allegedly), so 1 figured it would be a nice manga to start. One year and a half later, I finally got the whole collection and can't wait to start reading

Am I the only one who thought that chapter was so cool?

A nameless character gets shot and nobody cares.
This takes place in chapter 111 of the manga. I checked the rest of the chapter and I couldn’t see any mention of the character or even their corpse.
I’ve just reread The Promised Neverland and it was great, but there was one thing that confused me. When Andrew (the crazy man who raided the shelter) finds the kids in the forest, he shoots one of them in the head right in front of a few people and their corpse isn’t shown in any other panels and they aren’t even mentioned or mourned at all. Am I missing something or is this really the case?

One of my only critisisms of TPN is that the writer seems afraid of killing characters, which makes the story way less realistic specially in the extremely dangerous world of neverland, like the characters somehow manage to get out of every fight alive, somehow no one died in the goldy pond battle although everyone was on the brink of death, and no one died during the imperial battle which was lowkey crazy
The only exception to this rule was The raid of the Ratri clan, which was very sad, set an approriate end for amazing characters, and gave Emma character development, which is what character deaths are supposed to do, but for some reason that was the only time this happened
Like holy shit did anyone see the injuries goldy pond kids had? I thought half of them were dead for sure
I’ve been thinking about this a lot recently, even though I finished the mangas 3 years ago, I am still hung up over them.
Since no one I know irl has finished the mangas, I wanted to know your opinions. I personally loved them, but what do you think?
last thing thay say was in 2022 that its still happening. So it’s should be not canceled !
right ?
Note: even the lowest arcs in this list are still good, just not as good as the high tiers
Note 2: Grace field arc is literally perfect, top 5 arcs in all of anime and manga
Note: Emma and Ray are at the same spot
hi. i'm currently on chapter 129 of the tpn manga, emma and norman have just had that big discussion about demon genocide and whatnot — and it was so cool, yes, incredible and i loved the morality dynamic, but it did draw my attention to something that has been wallowing in the back of my mind for quite a bit.
ray barely speaks in that scene, and when he does, he just kinda agrees with emma and moves on. and it has been like this for a good while too.
he's my absolute favourite character and something i really looked forward to when knowing norman was alive was that they would have those smartass discussions they did in gracefield. this particular scene left me kind of empty because he could've very well not been there and it wouldn't make a single difference. i don't know if it's a rooted fangirlism or something, i am a huge fan of edgy emo-ish characters, but i just miss ray having more importance.
another example: ray had very clear parallels with older yuugo. the guilt over letting siblings die, the suicidal ideation, the cynicism, but they didn't have one scene dwelling on that. hell, emma literally is the one to stop both of them from committing suicide and there's not a single callback for that. i know the story isn't about mental health, but it left a bad taste in my mouth when ray's struggles were swept under the rug in favour of the plot (tbh not only his suicidality and struggles, but his character in general. that wit, sarcasm and overpowering intelligence that was so endearing to the story is just kinda gone???)
i'm sorry if he has some huge character development three chapters from now and i'm just running myself into the ground by posting this without having finished the story, but i needed to get this off my chest lmao
