Honestly, do i have to explain who SNESDRUNK is ?
Anw, today the dude dropped another doozie of a video, and it is also about KOEI and the funny thing, he expressed his un-happiness about how many of his fans are telling him to stop talking about Koei games, but he doesn't care and want to do them, but i do hope, as i also heard, that this might be the last.
Anw, where does the line get crossed between what a content creator want to make and what his loyal audience wants to see ? it is %100 his right to talk about any game he wants, but when his viewerbase tells him they had enough, well, some of them, don't u think a content creator should take a step back, and consider that maybe he should listen to the people that actually are the reason why he is on youtube in the first place ?
I honestly respect the guy, he worked so hard and potentially talked about almost every snes game ever made, and now he is scraping the bottom of the barrel for content and it is fine, but i do think that no matter how big of a youtuber you are, sometimes they should remember, it is the viewers who got you over 300k subs.
And again, this is why i prefer channels like BIG OLD WORDS these days, a likeable host, and good pacing and most of all, fun content with a lot of character in it.
Anw, i would like to hear your opinion about snesdrunk and also about koei games, i do love Koei, but not enough to watch a dozen videos about what is basically the same game but different setting.
The Rog ally X handheld supports "black frame insertion" and has 120hz screen.
As a result I am able to simulate smooth "CRT" like motion in retro 2d games. The downside to BFI is that it darkens the image. But modern displays get bright enough to compensate as you can see in the comparison picture
This is insane. I compared side by side to my CRT vga monitor And the motion is very comparable.
The future is very bright. In 20 years all of these high-end displays will be affordable and one will no longer have to go dumpster diving for a 40 yr old CRT that may or may not work.
This solution is strictly for emulation. But high-end scalers do exist such as the "retro tink 4K" for those that still want to use original consoles
What you guys think??
So I came across this video of Jace (an artist I listen to) showcasing his new arcade machine setup. As you can see in the video it's some sort of emulator with thousands upon thousands of games from different gaming consoles. If anyone with the right knowledge can kindly break this down for me on how to reasonably achieve this same setup regardless if it's expensive, i'd appreciate that, thanks!
Hello! So i have a Thinkpad t22 and im trying to install windows 98 on it thru the original dvd and i keep getting stuck on the formatting part and cant get past it. The hdd fully works with windows xp and its 15gb so i dont think im exceeding the 32bit limit
Who has already practiced?
Ranger X is a seriously cool game. Between lighting effects, music, those super cool wireframe intros, and insane gameplay it is one of my favorites. What's your favorite retro robot/mech game?
Vintage PC Game Identification Request
I'm seeking help identifying an obscure vector graphics game from the mid-1980s with these detail:
Game objective: an arrow pointing down moves down the screen for a few seconds before a corridor starts to appear, the arrow moved into the corridor down the screen (basically stays in the middle of the screen while the cooridor moves up the screen) changing its shape and size and your goal is to not touch the walls as the cooridor continues to shift and the width changes as well. Longer you can go higher the score (which is basically a timer).

Any assistance in identifying this game would be incredibly appreciated!
So I was looking back at the game Dracula X: Rondo of Blood as something that I recalled about the game was that it didn’t come out in North America because the system it was on didn’t sell so well over there.
But then I started wondering why the PC Engine console itself had tanked over there as while it’s easy to get the English version of the game on modern hardware, again I couldn’t help but wonder why the system didn’t catch on in western territories as it was beloved in Japan, but never really took off in the west.
Posted this on R/NES, but again, it seems like they don't want any questions asked there 🤷🤷🤷.
I was looking for a zapper compatible extension cable and it was recommended that I get a 4 Score. I also thought I remembered using the zapper with one back in the day. Well, the 4 Score arrived today, and it doesn't work with the zapper. I made sure it's switched to 2 player, and the turbo buttons are off. I also verified that the second controller port works with a regular controller, and verified the zapper works when plugged straight in. I also tried ports 3 and 4 just in case. What the heck? Can someone confirm for certain that the 4 Score works with the zapper before I pull out my ohm meter?
Late 1990's or early 2000's... I don't know if it was standard across the country or just a state thing or even a county thing but in Long Island, New York, in the 90s, we had this program on the school computers that looked like a classroom and clicking parts of the image would open the various applications. For example, if you clicked the notepad on the desk, it opened a text editor, if you clicked the trash can, it opened recycle bin, etc. It served as a way for them to block students from accessing other Windows features. I have looked it up but haven't found anything yet. It was so aesthetic, I need it! Total nostalgiagasm.
Does anybody remember this???
Pardon me if this is the wrong place to ask about such matters, but it's just that I have been trying to picture how the game would be if it came out on Steam with achievements and HD graphics as maybe it's just me, but I feel that the game deserves more attention due to the fact that it never came out in North America as it almost did way back then, but it was cancelled.
The most famous processors of that time were from MOS Technology, Zilog, and Motorola, among other less common ones, such as those from NEC. But for some reason no console and home computers used an Intel processor, only the IBM PC and compatibles. But why?
After I realised that my TV doesn't have any composit plugs anymore, I kinda was forced to read about Upscalers. I got many answers but as many questions. I wanted to buy a Retrotink 2x since it looks like an affordable and easy to use-solution for all of my consoles (Wii, PS2, N64, SNES - all PAL). The problem is, that I mainly want to play Wii and PS2. I have a VA Panel, so I don't have to worry about screen retention, but I have read, that it won't bring very good results with 6th Gen/Wii. Since the high class Retrotink models are a bit too expensive for my taste, it's often recommended to buy a GBS Control instead. Would that really be better for my usecase? And if yes, which one should I buy? It seems to be an Open Source Platform, so you can't just buy the "one" GBS Contol as far as I understand. Which GBS Control device would be the best, if I want to buy one, that is well-manifactured, reliable and easy to use.
The graphics, before and after the patch
Those who still remember this 1992 game, or want to try it out, can now apply my patch and enjoy much improved graphics.
You can download the mod from my blog. Read the technical blurb if you like, or just jump to the end to get the patch. Have fun!
Are there any games in the style of Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Dino Crysis or Luigi's Mansion that have the slowly opening random rooms and finding keys/solving puzzles while the atmosphere is the big seller?
I'm okay with going back to tank controls, fixed camera angles, "jank" combat, etc. I just want to know if anyone recommends any games of this style, but not from these franchises.
This is an entirely innocent observation and in no way meant to be critical of new enthusiasts.
I've been curating my media library since the early 90's (currently 37) so due the influx of people that state they "recently started collecting" I can't help but be intrigued, many also seem far more concerned with acquiring than engaging with the media.
