Could you please tell me the name of the art style featured on the box of this Snes game? I've noticed it on many games, and I'm interested in knowing its name.
inspired by u/Zeratul277 post
I mean just awful. Like, put the TV on mute. Fester's quest is pretty bad for me and so is Friday the 13th.
I'm trying to find a PS1 game that I used to play as a kid. It was a platform racing game with pixel art graphics, and the racing took place side-scrolling on the screen. The car would race from left to right, and you had to accelerate and shift gears at the right time. It's possible that the racing might have been in a different perspective, such as top-down 3D or even first-person.
The game also had a multiplayer mode.
I've been trying to find the game for years, but I haven't had any luck. I'm not sure if the game was ever released in North America, but I'm hoping someone else out there remembers it.
I recall playing this between 1999 and 2000...
All consoles, handhelds, computers, arcade cabinets, etc. allowed. My personal favorite is the Genesis/Mega Drive sound chip. I understand the criticism it had, it couldn't really handle audio samples as well as the SNES, but I felt it did synth sounds better, while the SNES sounded a little dry in comparison. There's nostalgia there too, of course lol.
I’m playing on Retroarch on Android, and I need to expand my library
Can you recommend essential DOS games that use a joystick?
I already have Blockout and Dangerous Dave in the Haunted Mansion
Got this at a game store what port is this and also if you know anything about this console please tell me also how would I connect this port to a modern TV because the middle pin is too big to put in cable
Many years ago, I watched my mom play a game, I can't find it, please help me.
I’m driving myself crazy trying to remember this arcade game from my childhood, maybe someone can help.
This game was a fighting type game but not linear, unlike street fighter or mortal kombat. I remember this game was around before MK. I’m thinking around 1991 or so. I believe MK took some inspiration from it.
The game allowed you to fight another player while other non-playable character stood around you cheering. You could walk across the screen or vertically. What was distinct about this game is it used real people for its character, like MK started doing in ‘92.
That’s pretty much all I remember. Any ideas?
I'm looking for a game with an interface similar to little alchemy, where you could create mechanisms and then test them. The main menu was an antenna on top of a factory
Does anyone know or have an idea of a similar game?
Yes, 36 is not terribly old, yes, there are people who are still incredible at games no matter their age and yes, it's entirely possible I was never particularly good at games to begin with.
But I've definitely come to realize that certain dreams I've had about finishing hard action/platforming games of the 8 and 16 bit era will just never happen. The other night I was playing Mega Man 3 and Magnet Man, the very first boss, was giving me too much trouble. Even after a couple dozen attempts, with the patterns memorized, my reflexes were just not up to the task.
Ten years ago I was able to at least get to the final boss of most NES Mega Man games, even if I've never beat one. Anyone else ever go through this? I have plenty of other interests and there are a lot of less twitchy games I can still play and enjoy, but the realization that my motor skills are only going to deteriorate kinda makes me sad.
Just thinking about all the different arcade racing games we got in the 90s like Daytona, Cruis’n etc and I wanted to get people’s ideas on the definitive game of that decade:
EDIT:
Solved! It was Cadillacs and Dinosaurs. Man those fat dudes with knives really helped with the investigation.
Thanks Reddit. You’re awesome.
Hey everyone, this game has eluded me for years, and I just found out there is a Reddit page dedicated to finding games… so here goes!
I was a young kid, likely 5-7 years old so it’s all a bit hazy.
played on arcade machine in late 1990s, potentially early 2000
side scroller brawler, similar to Streets of Rage
weapons were definitely part of this game, I believe the character could pick them up from the environment and use them
i think that there was character selection for main character
for some reason this sticks in my mind… but there was an enemy type which was a fat guy who threw knives. Maybe that will help job memories
I know it’s not much! But maybe some legend here knows what I am on about! Thanks!
So I remember this mid to late 90's educational game I used to play in preschool at primrose. I can't really give a stellar description of it other than you'd have to either do multiplication or addition in order to correctly count all of the tires on a semi truck for instance in order to progress to the next level. It may not have necessarily been that every level was themed in such a way that one would have to count tires on a vehicle, but that is a very distinct memory I have, counting all the tires on an 8 bit semi. Wanting to find it for nostalgic purposes to give to my children. Any help would be appreciated.
English isn't my first language, but I'll do my best. The first one is a PlayStation 1 game with designs similar to Megaman (but it's not). You had the possibility to play with different game modes. The three I remember were: one in first person, where you controlled a pig-shaped drone and explored caves with its camera; another with a more humanoid and larger robot, where you solved puzzles in a bay by moving boxes within a set number of moves - if you exceeded it, you lost; and the last one, which I'm eager to finish, also with a big robot, where we were in a city destroying cars, chasing people, and eventually facing a boss who was almost identical to the officer from the Pokémon anime, even wearing the same uniform, and fought against us.
The second one I remember very little about. It's a NES game featuring a ninja dressed in blue. The character resembles the one from Ninja Kid on the same console. The background was mostly blue, and there was a frog power-up.
Please, I'd be grateful to know what these games are :(
Hey all. My wife just sent me an article from WaPo about how antitrust lawsuits have caused Apple to lift its app restrictions on things like emulators.
To be clear, it’s been over 20 years since I’ve used any kind of emulation software.
So my big questions for those of you who use it:
• How do like it? Any noticeable slowdown/lag?
• Where do you go to download game files?
• Are homebrew/fanmade games playable using it?
• Realistically, how much memory do the games take up? I assume for older games it isn’t much.
Thanks in advance!
I love the way people’s CIB game collections look, but personally I can’t bring myself to spend the extra on the box when I can usually scoop another couple loose games for the same amount of money.
The exception being disc games, or Genesis/Megadrive games in those plastic cases.
Are you a box collector?
My girlfriend and I were playing this on her Switch tonight when I achieved this score, beating my previous high score by roughly half a million points. I could've kept going, too, but I had to cut it short since she was done playing video games for the night and I didn't want to keep her waiting for me to finish playing.
What are your choices?
NOMINEES
They choose four a year, so my choices are:
NVidia's own CEO reveals they were in a tight spot after screwing up their first 3D card, but Sega gave them enough money to keep going. All the details are in this article from Time Extension.
Trying to find the best method for each console and if there is an all in 1 option.
That im aware Retrotink 2X-pro supports
PS1, PS2, NES, SNES, N64
Can retrotink also support Sega Genesis, Sega Saturn, Dreamcast, Atari or what other options are there to support these consoles.
Also is the best way to connect consoles to Retrotink is by using official nintendo/sony/sega cords?
Thank you!
