Mental health help for a junior sailor?

Not entirely sure how it works. But I'm a junior sailor and the past few weeks I haven't been doing well. I'm heavily depressed and down. I've got a history of domestic violence back home. And now its starting to weigh on me. Honestly, I made it through bootcamp by dissociating the entire time. About a week before I shipped there was a fight that I stopped but it was terribly stressful on me so my brain completely shut down. I didn't feel anything for most of the next few weeks up until 7 weeks. Then I talked to Chaps but it didn't offer me a solid solution. I show up to work on time and in the right uniform. Never had disciplinary issues. I managed to be top of my class in aschool by burying myself in my schoolwork. And I worked hard at an a school leadership job. (100% not worth it) I can function and do my job. But after that, I can't find any reason to continue doing anything including exercise. I've pushed myself to do it, but it's often very minimal or with long breaks in between. I'll probably fail this coming pfa due to the run. I was stuck in great lakes all winter. That didn't help. I am suicidal but I've got no history of meds, substance abuse, discipline issues, malingering, or anything. I've been a dick to people at my last command(training command) but that's all. I was stressed and in a f-ed up position. I do my job. I've got some quals but not all the ones I need. I've only been at this command for a month and I'm living in the barracks. I can keep going as I am but I will inevitably crash and be unable to function at all. But I don't want to get kicked out for this. Can Chaps refer me to mental health outside of the military or do I have to go to medical? I don't trust them.

PERS832 approved my conditional release but worried regarding comments for discharge date

Before you all flame me yes I’m going to be talking to my chain of command and officer recruiter about this but wanting to hear from anyone with similar experience or overall knowledge regarding this.

PERS832 approved my conditional release (Gave my CO authorization to sign DD form 368) but stated that if I’m accepted my discharge is not to be effective earlier than my EAOS (Sep 15, 2024). The problem is I’m aiming for fall USMC OCS and if I’m accepted it starts September 9, 2024.

Is this conditional release therefore pointless? I will have my DD 214 30 days before since I’m taking terminal leave if that makes a difference.

————————————————- So the email says

……… 1. REF A is approved and if member is selected , discharge date is not to be effective earlier than 15 September 2024. This authority is to allow member to submit application for the U.S. Marine Corps Officer Candidate school program and does not serve as discharge authority.

  1. Upon receipt of this message, Commanding Officer is authorized to sign Section 2 of DD form 368

  2. Upon acceptance into the USMC OCS program have member provide PERS 832 with NAVPERS 1306/7 requesting separation under REF B.

Attach required documentation with date of entry no earlier than 15 September 2024 into the USMC OCS program

  1. If member reenlists, takes orders or has not been selected into the USMC OCs program by 15 September 2024, this conditional release will be null and void. Member may not apply or pursue any further program without first obtaining another conditional release from PERS 832

Separation pay question.

I recently separated from the Navy from Bahrain. I flew to Norfolk to check into TPU to separate due to Norfolk being the processing location or Bahrain. TPU directed me to get a hotel out in town, TPU being TPU took a very long time tp process my separation (20 days). I submitted my travel valchor to Millington and was told that they would not pay for my hotel due to Norfolk being my final home or choice. I was not previous living in Norfolk and my wife lived with me in Bahrain. To me it seems unreasonable to tell me to move into a home day one of arriving in the US without anything but our luggage. anyone have any advice or suggestions or what I can do or did TPU screw me with bad advice?

Qualifications

Long story short, I heard a command is gonna pull all E5 and below CDI/CDQ qualifications for not having PC. What's your thoughts on that?

Little brother turned down a commission

Little background on him without outing him: he's a shit hot sailor. Picked up first within four years and is on the fast track to master chief, but he's got the chops to be a damn good officer if he wants. He already has his bachelor's, is constantly asked by the brass at his command why he's still enlisted, etc etc. As prior enlisted I'm trying to convince him to take a commission as he'd make good connections for civilian life after he's out, even if he does a full 20. Enlisted and officer weigh in if you please?

USS John S. McCain

I am not a Navy guy, but I thought this would be the best place to ask this.

I have read the reports on the accident in Singapore, in which several people died. My question is this: Was there ever a court marshal of the people on board?

Fishing in Sasebo?

Just curious if anyone has any experience fishing here I’m used to freshwater but am also familiar with saltwater. I’m thinking about going out and getting some gear to fish. Normally in salt I’ll throw a Carolina rig or surf with some squid. Is that a viable option here? And fresh it’s usually a Texas rig plastic worm or drop shop for some bass. Anyone got any feedback on this, trying not to get skunked! Thank you!

Anyone ever have this issue on Navy quick links?

So I try to log onto BOL and it gets to the CAC login page and when I click it: the screen just closes. I’ve tried everything (different browsers, emailing the helpdesk, checking certifications, etc)

It’s driving me crazy.

Lat Transfer to AVO

Currently an active duty commissioned officer in the Navy and I’m exploring a lateral transfer out of the designator I’m currently in. While looking at different program authorizations, the Air Vehicle Operator designator was the one that caught my interest the most, but they’re only taking either civilians or enlisted to commission as WO1s right now. Does anyone know or heard anything about it possibly being opened up to active duty officers in the future as a lateral transfer option?

Any Ex-CG-70 guys in Thailand?

I don't believe this breaks rule 3. If it does please let me know.

On the off chance was anyone was on the Lake Erie 2013ish-2016, or know someone who was?

It's a shot in the dark, but I live near Pattaya now and would be down to grab a drink or something.

Shoot me a DM if so. DGUTS

Still haven’t taken exam

So we were supposed to take our 2nd class exam around the second week of May. We ended up not taking it because the ship didn’t get it for whatever reason. The ship finally gets the exams for 2nd class, but they didn’t the the 2nd class exam for anyone in air department and a few other departments. So what happens next I’ve asked questions and have yet to get any direct answers. How is this fair? This literally takes away an opportunity for advancement. What will happen will we have to wait till next cycle? If so will there be any type of compensation?

Is being a CO difficult?

I’m really curious about the perspective of being a commanding officer. I don’t mean any disrespect in the question. I just wonder what the day by day looks like. I would imagine it be easy, just an appereance game, let XO or CMC handle any ordinary issue, and then let the departments take care of it.
