My Ait is missing from my PPW. not sure if this changed over the years but i'm almost certain your ait would be under military education and added points also my atrrs hasn't roled over yet.
Does anyone know why?
Hi, former 35S mandatorily reclassed since I couldn't get NSA ACCESS. Still have my clearance.
Yo so today some random ass E6 told me that my hair looked faddish. I have the Edgar hair cut but it’s very short and almost just look like a buzz cut with a mid fade. I’m soo lost as to wtf is considered faddish? I see plenty of people with the Edgar cut all the time. I don’t know if I have to fucken change my hair style now or wtf. Somebody please help 😭
Canned was okay, bottled was much better.!
Hi everyone, I would like some advice/opinions on my current family situation. I (23 F) have been with my now husband (23 M) for 6 years now. He has always had a job and has worked as a fireman, worked in ems and a few other jobs in the medical field but could never afford to pay to go to school to further his education in those fields. My mother who was diagnosed with lung cancer a few years ago began going down hill in health about 6 months ago and while in the hospital extremely sick (we knew she was nearing the end) my husband made a promise to her that he would take care of me and provide for me no matter what. A few days later he and I sat down and decided that he joining the army was a good fit for us in life. The benefits would be so helpful. He joined a few weeks later. And then my mom passed about a month after that. My father now absolutely hates him for “taking me away from everything I have” although I’m not close with him and never have been. He has called my husband so many names and says he is an idiot and has destroyed my life by joining the army and forcing me to move away with him and uproot my entire life. He says my husband has never provided for me a day in his life so I shouldn’t choose him over “my family” although he is my husband and the father of our unborn daughter…he IS my family. I should also note that I am 5 months pregnant which we found out after he enlisted. My father just sat me down and told me that he lost my mother and he can’t lose his grandchild so he doesn’t want to bond with her for the 2 months we will live here while my husband go she’s ait. He wants us to just take her and leave and not come back. I apologize this is all over the place I am just so frazzled and exhausted, this has gone on for months. Most of the stemmed from us going to visit my husband this past week for his bct graduation and although he joined with the mos 15T he now wants to also get his nursing degree while he’s in so he can go back to the medical field when he’s out and my father had the nerve to say he wanted to “beat his brains in” when he said that because he changed his mind from what he originally joined to make a career out of. Please someone help me understand why he is acting this way. I personally believe he is extremely manipulative and possibly even jealous in some way. Thank you. Adding in that I am working on my bachelors in social work and I have about 2 semesters left which I can easily finish online wherever we are stationed. But my father sees me having to switch to online as another example of my husband “uprooting and destroying” my life.
My NCO was talking about schools that we could do and how there's something the commander can sign that gives us 6 months for schools. Firstly just wanting to make sure this actually exists, and where I could find this information.
Just a large Dr. Pepper and some fries for the road.
Thinking of joining an mos that has good civilian benefits while also not being a complete desk slave. Are their any 35W’s out their or anyone that knows anything about the typical line of work?
I'm thinking of enlisting as 35P active duty for 6 years. I've heard that linguists usually don't even use their language. Will I have time to study the language on my own? One of my main concerns is how much of a normal life will I be able to retain when I get through initial training and go to my first duty station? Is there a check-in at the barracks or can I stay the night in other places? How much free time do you have on average on both weekdays and weekends? Finally, will I have time to go and make friends/connect with locals wherever I go?
I'm currently enlisting back into active duty life and just wondering what I should expect. I joined back in 2020 got out in 2022, and I'm currently waiting on getting into meps so I just curious on how all this works, since I know it's a bit different than going in the first time. I know I won't have to worry about going back to bct, and that's about as much as I know. I have a wife and kids now, so I just need all the info and advice I can get.
ROTC vs. OCS (non prior)
A few questions comparing the two. I'm weighing trying to get into OCS vs. trying to get into an ROTC program with the 2 year path of going to Basic Camp and starting in the fall as an MS3(non scholarship). Tying to go active duty or bust.
Do you have more control of branch selection coming from ROTC vs. OCS?
Is it unlikely a nonprior cadet in the 2 year program gets active duty? How can a 2 year cadet play "catch up" and maximize their chances for Active Duty?
What are some good ways to gain leadership experience for an OCS packet?
Hey team! I'm in a little problem. I just came off secondary caregiver leave. I got HT/WT and taped, failed, and now I'm at risk of being flagged and ABCP. Before this, I did reenlist for an ASI during my last week of caregiver leave and before getting HT/WT and tape. I’m supposed to go to school in July of next year for the ASI. Will I lose my school date even though I reenlisted before this? Where can I find this in the reg to learn what I'm dealing with? I've never been flagged for ACFT/ABCP, so this is my first time. Thanks team.
I want to join but unfortunately since I have small kids I don't want to go active. Am a greencard holder with Beng and masters in aeronautical engineering and have been talking to a national guard recruiter. Done with ASVAB got over 90, but unfortunately because am not a citizen there is a whole lot of MOS I can't do which have made peace with. Well had thought of doing 15Q but he is like, I can't do that too yet from the army website it says I can. I initially wanted 15N because that's my area of specialization but it's not available too. Am left with the option btwn 15T and 15U and am not sure which to chose. Have also approached a reserve recruiter and they promised to get the 15N, but no updates yet from them. On the other hand the national guard recruiter is on me about going for medical n I feel guilty about it. Would appreciate any advice on 15T or 15U if I don't get N and to go guard or reserves?
hello i was wondering if i were to fail one branches ASVAB would i still have to wait to take another branches or will i be able to skip the wait time?
I have one for my 56A s and 56M s out there.
Over the last couple of months I've been down a rabbit hole that has thankfully taught me more about my beliefs and why I believe/agree with them. This gave me a flashback to when the Army made me choose what to put on my dog tags (Recruiting station? MEPS? Reception Bn? Couldn't tell you.) I recall choosing "Lutheran Churches" because it seemed to be the closest descriptor at the time. For the last 7 years, I have had no clue wtf the "Churches" in that title refers to. I went into IPPSA to do some research and hopefully get this sorted out. 9. I counted 9 Lutheran options. The two I was absolutely sure of were ELCA and LCMS, both of which I'm not a member. Independent Lutheran Churches seems self explanatory, but that doesn't fit me either. Some of them require a simple Google search. The rest, (ie "Lutheran Churches") make no sense to me, and I can't find a DA or DoD explanation/definition of what each one is (can't google because both are very generic words).
Is there a list out there where the DoD explains who/what each descriptor is affiliated with? Is it easier to just write a letter to the Chief of Chaplains and get my denomination added?
Apologies for the incoherent word vomit.
I ship out to basic training in 2 weeks but I have a slight problem. I have flat feet and I was cleared at MEPS. However, during my runs and long walks at home my feet start burning at the bottom and I have to stop mid performance and go home before I’m crawling home due to my feet burning. I feel like it’s an on and off thing because just two weeks ago I walked 10 miles and my feet were fine up until mile 9. Has anyone experienced something similar with flat feet? (I wear ASICS and I have tried other shoe brands such as hokas, Brooke’s and new balance.)
I’m trying to find a job that has good potential for the civilian sector but also does cool tactical things. I’m flip flopping between Signal, Engineering, and intel mos branches. Everything I find regarding to day to day life and duties basically all leads down to “depends on your unit”. Is the entire army this random or is there a way I can guarantee I do the more tactical/field sides of these jobs rather than be in an office everyday. And if I do will I still have time to get certs and experience that’ll help me when I get out.
I was in the national guard for a bit and transferred to the IRR. I’m thinking about joining again as a 68K or 68 C. Is it worth it ?
Officers, can u do me.a favor?
Please verify if I'm understanding all the info correctly :
When you receive scholarship while in rotc, you can only serve in reserve for 8 years
When you do not receive scholarship, you go active duty for 4 years
You can get post 9/11 GI Bill once you hit 3 years in active duty
BAH is included in Post 9/11 GI Bill
You can use Post 9/11 GI Bill even after your ETS
You can get that BAH even when you don't have any dependents
But officers also get BAH while serving in active duty since they are 2LT because only enlisted soldiers live on base.
Do you HAVE TO serve at least one year to get US citizenship?
My friend is an immigrant and he was wondering if it's true that he can get his citizenship right after basic training like automatically.
He started his contract with army reserve in July and hasn't left for basic training yet, because the ship date is 1/6/25. When he went to his unit for drill weekend, one of the soldiers told him that he won't be getting his citizenship right after basic training and he'll eventually have to apply separately.
Since he still has some time before basic training, should he apply for citizenship asap so he can actually get the citizenship right after basic training? or is it impossible because he didn't serve for an yr yet?
Anyone know if it’s possible to get my wisdom teeth taken out while overseas on a rotation? Mine are causing a lot of pain and I leave soon so can’t do it stateside
Hello! Just wondering if anyone knows how hard it is to get airborne on your second contract? My recruiter told me I can’t get it on my first one because of a medical waiver, but that I can’t go for it for my second enlistment, and I just was curious how hard that is to actually get? For reference I’m going in as a 13F Electromagnetic warfare specialist!
Can anyone email me a copy of the Course outline or Syllabus from the Recruiting college?
I'm trying to appeal my original transfer credit evaluation from my college so that I can get credit for my recruiting time, I need more than just my JSTs to hand them. I tried calling staff duty at the RRC but they picked generic 79R number 3 for duty today and he's too fucking lazy to do it.
Any tips advice or knowledge for reclassing to 12B prior service for AIT ? Do you get pov, what’s the barracks like do you still have to do pt etc
Any tips or advice on what to expect at future soldier preparatory training program? I’m leaving soon and would just like some insight.
SM has been diagnosed with sleep apnea and has a CPAP machine. SM still refuses to wear the CPAP Machine with the excuse that they forget to wear it. Info was pushed out to the leadership chain of command. The chain of command has evidence & nothing is happening; I have lack sleep, and my performance every day is getting affected physically and emotionally every day that passes. I'm asking for any advice. I feel I need to go ask for an emotional heal soon. LDRSHIP dexide only moves 1 soldier member who complains about the situation, not taking into consideration others. I don't know why because pretty much he's not the only one affected. Of the 5 people in the room, instead of finding better accommodation for the person that refuse to use the cpap. Need any advises. Thank you.
I’m looking into enlisting when I graduate trade school for wind power and industrial maintenance. I am looking for an MOS that will be close to what I am going to school for and what I can use for when I get out. I was looking into the job 12Q Power Distribution Specialist. Is it a good job or are there better options?
What is the phone number of the bragg transpo office at the soldier support center. None of the Google numbers work
Wassup everyone Okay so I’ve recently taken the ASVAB & found out that I qualified for over 30 different MOS & I’m overwhelmed with excitement but don’t know what job to choose. I’ve taken down a few from my list that I’ve considered but even then I’m still undecided. I’d like to make my decision asap but thoroughly so I can ship off to basic as soon as possible. Are there any current or former military service members that could lend a bit of advice for the best jobs that I could rank up fast? I know for a fact that I’m interested in 12B & 92R but as I stated before I have over 30 different options available
If you’re going to arms, on ship out date, do you get taped again at meps or no? I’ve seen different answers
If you were to pass civil affairs selection and become a 38b, can you still apply for special forces or ranger batallion? Or vise versa?
Do you need to eat vegetables during bct at fort jackson? Or do they get mad if you don’t?
Enlisting dilemma
Hey everyone, I would like to ask the community for their input on my situation. I’m a mid thirties male who finally has the opportunity to enlist due to some juvenile delinquent problems that have held me back for a long time.
I am currently married with two kids aged 7 and 8. My wife is already against me enlisting but knows that I’ve been trying to for a while now. I am more than likely going to become an 11x since some of the jobs I wanted are unavailable to be. Now… she has already stated she will not be traveling with me to any base or state. So do I try to stay in the states and maybe get an option 40 or should I take a posting in Alaska or Germany? Those were pretty much my options to choose from besides duty station which I would select Ft. Irwin to be closer to home. If you were in my shoes what route would you take?
How were you guys able to fully know you wanted to join the army? Having a bit of trouble figuring out if it's something I want to commit to fully or not. How did you guys figure it out?
There’s a soldier that has an issue with alcohol. Their 2 largest stunts outside of being drunk at work are crashing another soldiers car and calling our PL thinking it was someone else and then calling them the N word multiple times over the duration of their phone call. The soldier refuses to see an issue with their conduct. Outside of drinking, they refuse to change any of their other selfish behaviors. I am not in a position to smoke them for what they do and our leadership is more keen on group punishment because we should be policing up our battle buddies. This task has proven impossible and a reoccurring theme is that nothing happens when this soldier fucks up or is otherwise an embarrassment to our platoon. They get off on getting us smoked. Is there anything I can do as lower enlisted to fix this behavior or get them out of our platoon?
So, I'm being chaptered out for medical issues, and currently am on a profile for extensive pain in my back and neck. I'm being told I will still need to take an ACFT if I don't have active profiles for the pain. I have one now and am trying to extend it as it expires in a few days, but they [the nurses via virtual] said they can only extend by 7 days each time, so as you can imagine this is getting quite annoying to drop in and out of the doctors to get a profile updated.
Is this normal for people being chaptered out for medical issues? And is it possible the doctors can give me a longer profile than just 7 days? I'm waiting to see my doctor, but I can't until next week, so just curious if anyone else has been in this situation before? I'm afraid at one point they will refuse to extend the profile, and command will make me take the ACFT when I can barely move as is.
I took a break from college to join the army, I’m planning on a 3 year contract. After graduating and finishing my contract I hope to commission as a NG Officer. Took the ASVAB and didn’t study(mistake l know) and got a 62. My major is information systems and I want to pick a MOS that will help boost my future career in both the military and civilian sectors. My top 4 MOSs are 25H, 35S, 25B and 35F but I’m open to other suggestions. What MOS should I pick considering, promotion possibilities, certifications, job enjoyment etc. I’m really indecisive and I would appreciate as much information as possible. Thank you.
How does deployment for military police work? Wife's going mp and just wanna know what to expect. When we are stationed at a base, how likely is she to stay there? Is she gonna be deployed elsewhere from the base and how long could she be gone?
Are there positions she could get to keep her permanently on-base that we could work her towards?
What rank are most soldiers by the end of their first 4 year enlistment? Considering going Guard and automatically getting that e3/4 or going active and getting it by the end of the first enlistment anyway.
Would there be a good chance at being an e3 or e4 by the end of the first 4 years anyway?
Whats the best job to commision after rotc if i actually want to be doing more than sitting at a desk. I really do not want a desk job and i know that is hard because I will be an officer. I was looking intel but read that most intel officers dont do any of the intresting stuff and end up sitting at a desk. I would like a job where there is a chance of deployment and basically one were im actually involved in the field.
How much is the grad uniform after AIT? I know there's probably somewhere i could search for that info, but i can't find anything concrete on the matter. Wife's going MP. does the MOS change the uniform type? Is there any discounting or financial support for them?
Hi. I’m looking to join, and one of my medical disqualifiers is GERD. However, I’m not quite sure if my level of GERD would require a waiver or not or if it’s fine - the wording on the disqualifying list is a bit confusing about it. I have non-esophagitis GERD and take a pill once a day to alleviate symptoms. Other than that, I have no complications from it and live a completely normal life. What will MEPS look for, and what should I say/do?
I’ve been talking to my army buddies about joining and finally doing something with my life but I’m a huge pothead. I quit 3 weeks ago but am worried that I’ll test positive. So my question is, does anyone know how the drug tests work? For example like what the cutoff levels are and how sensitive the drug tests are?
Any drug testing kits I could purchase prior just in case I still piss positive? I don’t know the cut off level and the most newest army regulation regarding drug testing.
Hi there! I'm curious about the day-to-day life of a 68k. The schooling sounds rigorous, but I'm interested in the job itself. Do you find joy in your work, and what does career growth look like? I'm about to leave for basic training soon, so I want to make sure I'm making the right choice. From what I've seen, the job seems intriguing, but I'm struggling to find information about the daily routine.
Hey everyone, I head to MEPS tomorrow and I was just curious if anyone knows if you are provided a conversion chart or something similar for the math portions of the test? I don't know certain conversions by heart. Also, how do line scores work? i'm trying to get a high GT and ST score but math is my weakness. any tips for that?
As a re enlisting soldier with a general discharge, what alternative can I take to the MGIB for my education? 임 Join
Thinking about joining and I heard of the 11th airborne unit (Arctic Angels) and was wondering how you go about joining it. I don’t know much about the army or how units work so this might be a dumb question, but any answers are helpful.
my husband graduates in december and i will be traveling alone with our multiple children. is there a hotel on base that is good to stay at? should i stay off base? im most worried about ease of travel/safety/availability
Wife's going military police. What kind of odds are there i won't be able to move with her to her base if she gets based in europe or asia? I know it depends on the base, but could use a couple different scenarios' chances yuh know?
I’m currently active duty and planning on the possibility of getting out. Is anyone an expert on GS type jobs that can help me out?
Edit: I know I can get a good job that pays well with my qualifications I will have by the time I get out. I would like to know how much of my time active will transfer and how to get into the General Schedule jobs. If anyone has any basic tips I would appreciate it.
So I have 2 years left in ANG and deciding if I should try for a 17D (I'll Have my degree in like 2 months) I'm currently a 91B and it's not really for me. It's either that or get a software engineering job. But I think it would be cool to have a top secret clearance while doing both swe jobs and cyber. Just curious on what exactly 17D's do cause there's little to no info out there.
I am currently seeking courses/schools in the Army for E4’s in combat arms. While I have access or have been to traditional courses such as Ranger School, Pathfinder, dive, and airborne, I am particularly interested in niche or less commonly known programs. I’m currently considering the Portable Air Defense Systems (MANPADS) course and would greatly appreciate any recommendations for additional training that could enhance my skill set. I am especially interested in courses related to weapon handling, close quarters battle (CQB), sensitive site exploitation (SSE), driving, and explosives. If you could provide course numbers or titles, It would greatly appreciated.
Anyone know where I can find the latest one? The only one I can find on milper was from 30 Sep 2020 message 20-320
So back on October 21st I got a counseling from my BDE Commander pertaining to my time in recruiting(2years) and the phone call went decently well. I signed the 4856 I sent it back to him. Today I got told that I was being recommended for the 601 process and that I would receive orders to leave USAWRECK and go back to a normal unit. I was wondering if anyone was familiar with the process and could tell me what kind of timeline I can look forward to. If it helps I’m a 11B SSG. (I can’t wait to get back to the line and I’m hoping this process is somewhat fast)
So this is my situation I got arrested last week for bringing flares on base . I had no idea I couldn’t have these but apparently these are illegal to carry which is ridiculous to me . I don’t know what’s gonna happen on the legal side of things . But the unit side im probably going to get 45 extra duty plus all the other stuff that comes with an article 15 . The thing is I just got married I’m trying to juggle a million things already before I deploy to the Middle East for 9 months . Getting a living situation figured out . Clearing the barracks . spending time with my wife before I leave . I was planning on going home with my wife for Christmas so she can meet my family but this isn’t going to happen anymore if I’m on extra duty . This just seems ridiculous to me . The army has left the most sour taste in my mouth for the army . basically running my life because I brought fucking flares on base . I loved the army but now I’m actually just at the point where I’m just like fuck the army honestly . Any way the commander can just dismiss this on the unit side if I explain my situation? how cooked am I ?
So my girlfriend and I are having a baby, she’s Active Duty at Ft. Cavazos and I’m NG in PA. I’m moving up there in about a week to join a police department. She’s been having trouble with some guy touching her at work and she doesn’t know what to do. Similar things have been reported in the past with other people and nothing has been done. She broke down crying on the phone today, and I’m not home yet to help my babygirl😞💔!
I recently ETS’d from the Army (Fort Carson)- on my last day, Transitions gave all of us (I’d say about 20 people, some who had been there for over 8 hours just waiting) an option to continue waiting after they SRP closes, or get the dd214 emailed in a docsafe email. Well, in true army fashion, I never got it. SRP doesn’t have a number to reach them and other avenues I’ve requested to help me with a contact haven’t responded (ie old coc, ACS) I am not in the area anymore so I can’t just go down there. Anyone have any ideas?
TL;DR
I need a contact email or something for transitions at SRP at Fort Carson.
So after my orders to Baumholder was revoked, I'm now heading to Camp Carroll South Korea. S what to expect? Also is it a post that I'm allowed to take dependents? They have me going to the 95th Transportation Company. Anyone particularly 88Ms are familiar with this unit?
Recently just PCS’d to a new PDS. Took 30 days of PCS leave. I don’t want to take full HBL because I would like to recoup my leave days before taking leave again. With that being said, I thought about putting in weekend passes but unfortunately both Christmas and New Years fall on a Wednesday which would put me in the predicament of having more than 4 days off due to DONSAs being the day before the holidays. I’m trying to avoid having CQ on both Donsa and Holiday. Best advice to combat this with taking as little leave as possible?
Every concession on this Challenge Coin has come to pass. The last item, the gas station, closed last year July.
As the title goes along, can a E-5 get BAH w/o dependents?
The left-side building is the former Main Post Club, with the backside of Moyer Recreation Center behind, right side.
Area blocked off; nobody is allowed closer.
I’m in need of some guidance/ advice and honestly probably wouldn’t post here if i wasn’t at the end of my rope. DISCLAIMER: This will be a lot to read because I’m trying to add as much relevant information to my issue. This isn’t a bashing of my command, or me passing blame and not taking responsibility or a poor little old me story; I’m just presenting the facts. This is the first issue I’ve had while in, I’m not proud of this situation and I take no joy in sharing but like I said, I’m at the end of my rope here. To add context I was on recruiting and was a 79R until recently.
A little over a year ago I was having martial issues. While drinking at our house, my spouse and I got into an intense verbal argument. As things were escalating I made a decision to get out of that situation before it got worse. Not having a lot of options of individuals to reach out to, I did the one thing i thought right and called my 1SG who was also my first line. While being on the phone with him I informed him of everything going on including that I was intoxicated, after some time on the phone he suggested meeting up at a sports bar nearby my house so I could walk. Once there we sat for some drinks and that’s as far as I remember. I woke up in a holding cell a few hours later. According to the police report I was found unconscious in the street outside my 1SG’s apartment complex and when the police were trying to get me into the cruiser I allegedly became combative. I was arrested for assault on a police officer, drunk in public and a few other charges. No one really knows what happened to as why I was found like that and where my 1SG was, there’s several different stories as to what happened that he told to my peers and command.
Following the event, I was taken to the nearest behavioral health for a SUD evaluation but because it wasn’t a walk-in type appointment BH couldn’t do the evaluation. However, some of regular BH counselors saw how upset I was and pulled me into the back where I elected to go to an in-patient program for 30-days. After the program I underwent a fit-for-duty eval where it was determined I was fit for duty. After that eval I stopped by the SUD counselor and verified that I was never actually enrolled into SUDCC. Upon returning from the 30 day in-patient program, I had repercussions to deal with on both civilian and military fronts. On the civilian side, I hired an attorney and entered an Alford plea so I could take part in a pretrial alternative court program in which the judge withholds judgement and I will never get convicted and the charges would be dropped and expunged from my record. As some of you may know though, the Army still sees that as a conviction nonetheless. On the military side, from an early point (two days after incident) it was determined that I was to be removed from recruiting but should be retained in the Army. After I entered the alternative program on the civilian side, it was determined that my punishment would be a suitability review to remove me from USAREC. I’m assuming the punishment wasn’t worse because of my reputation of being a high performer and a hard worker, but honestly it was still a devastating blow. Anyways, I went through the suitability review process for a Type 2- Alcohol abuse offense IAW AD 2018-16, I decided to submit an appeal even though I was told multiple times by my BC that he didn’t support me staying. Out of my command, only my company commander pushed to have me stay. Once my BC recommended the disapproval of my appeal, all others in the command going up followed suit. I heard back of my denial after four months (was suppose to be 45 days after the approving authority received it). My command immediately started the 601 process to reclassify me and remove me from recruiting. During that process, there was a chance to submit a rebuttal but I was told it wouldn’t make a difference because I was denied my suitability.
After several months after the start of my removal, my new 1SG pointed out a lot of failures in leadership pertaining my whole situation and told me that I should try and fight to appeal again which lead me to look into the paperwork and regulations once more. Though I found that the suitability approving authority’s decision is final, I continued to research and I found that the information in the original SIR was factually inaccurate (like the SIR saying the location of the incident was two miles away from where it actually happened and leaving out other details). With the complexity of the whole thing I decided to reach out to Legal Assistance and was told by a JAG that my only chance was to see if my command would let me submit a rebuttal that was allowed for the 601 process through my command only if I had support even though it would well past the time that was allowed. My commander talked me down from trying to do this by bringing up the good point of the possibility that my new higher command could come back at me with more repercussions if they feel like enough wasn’t done to me. With already developing a distrust in leadership and feeling a great lack of support from command, I chose not to try. Following that decision, I was notified that I am being reclassified into 92G rather then my original MOS before 79R or anything I gave to my career counselor. I have nothing against 92Gs or think badly of them. If that’s the line of work you want to do and are passionate about then that’s the MOS for you, but for me I just have absolutely no desire to be in that MOS. I’m almost at 14 years and by the time I have a year at my next duty station I will be at 15 and the chances to reclass again will be next to none. I just can’t see myself doing 92G for the next six years. I’ve reached out to my career counselor and to a few others but was told to take the MOS or get out. Feeling like this was the wrong answer my commander reached out to the retention and reclassification branch at HRC who just reverted us back to the career counselor after saying that there were plenty of other MOS I did qualify for but it came down to training seats. After contacting the career counselor again they said that it’s out of their hands and they don’t know how to possibly get the MOS changed.
Out of all of this, I know that the two most obvious options are to take the MOS (extremely undesirable option) and getting out by either medical, requesting a chapter 4, or being put as a 09U (not what I truly want but more desirable given everything). Firstly, I want to see if anyone out there knows of a way to get a mandatory reclass MOS picked by HRC changed to a different needs of the Army MOS. Secondly, I also want to see if everyone knows if and how I can possibly get back to recruiting or other special duty assignments once I receive documentation of charges dropped and expunged. I would have loved to stay in recruiting because of actually having work enjoyment, but I don’t see anyway to get this whole thing turned around but maybe someone does.
I know in the grand scheme of it all, people will probably say I’m lucky I’m still in and yea maybe, but I rather be doing something I enjoy rather than hating my life everyday doing something I don’t.
I recognize this is an unusual request considering the thread. When my dad got me this watch, it was in the early 2000's, I am pretty sure he told me it was a field watch, and I wanted to get another one. I have a picture that a friend sent me, and was wondering if anyone had seen this watch or knew info on where to get it. Please and thank you. The only info I have for i, that can't be seen in the picture, is that it is Water Resistant to 100 feet and it has waves above that, it has a black velcro band, and that it was made in Japan. Based on the brand/age, you can probably understand why it has been difficult to search. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
I’ve created a monster!
I need help with some advice: first off I’m army reserve. I recently went on deployment. Where I’m deployed at, only t-mobile works. Before I left I had AT&T, I was on the phone with AT&T and they had stated that I needed to pay the phone off to transfer it over to T-Mobile. Correct me if I’m wrong but if I go on active duty orders isn’t AT&T supposed to pay off the phone? Also I got the phone before I even received my orders. Can I sue AT&T for making me pay off the phone?
