I consider the relationship between Lucy and Kouta to be mostly platonic. (Sure they might be attracted to each other but that is not the really the foundation of their friendship.)
The friendship between Lucy and Kouta is a deep childhood love, a love that only children can have for each other when they get close. Kouta saw something in Lucy that he liked, and innately liked her for who she was. Lucy staved of affection and love in the home she grew up in, she cling to Kouta, and fell for him. Lucy was very needy, and lonely, and his friendship was like an oasis of acceptance in a desert of rejection, bullying and despair.
Lucy most likely spent her years locked up the fallacy, reliving her time with Kouta over and over again, clinging to the memory of that happy time to keep her going. (It was also most likely mixed with regret and guilt at hurting Kouta.)
I think the ending should of just been a hug and embrace, as that is the cathartic release she was longing for. Despite Kouta saying he was not able to forgive Lucy, for killing his he still accepted her for who she was, and forgive her.
The kiss just felt weird and out of place.
Lucy had to die, and I do not like the implication in the ending that Lucy is back. (So I just ignore it.) I think the anime ending is fine, and no more story has to be told. From an emotional point of view the story had ended, and the facility story line left hanging is not important from that point of view.
Yep, I like to do drawings and Lucy is my favorite anime/manga female character and I draw her a lot, this were my firsts drawings about Lucy and why the background? Well, I did a MUGEN game, using my characters (my OCs) and as one of the guest characters was Lucy and I was in charge of drawing her, programming her and giving her an ending for her arcade mode and these drawings are part of it, it is a battle royale and she also appeared in a crossover that she had with the characters of my web series, if you are interested, comment, I have A LOT of Lucy content, she is my waifu and favorite character. :)
Like, I’ve always wondered how did the species even start like I know it started with Lucy and all but like—
Did God get pissed off at humanity and decided to send this virus out to the world? Or it just happened randomly with one birth and it goes from there? Because I’m rewatching the ANIME and I wonder how it all just started happening.
Does anyone know? Or have theories?
((Sorry, this is my first post here in this subreddit))

This is the last of a total of 8 elfen lied edits and mash-ups that i created like 10 years ago and just decided to upload this year. feel free to check them out: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLrLoN3SsCHMjA0AnwQ5PZ7BhaecBF9e4w.
If you have any more ideas for any Elfen Lied mashu-ps/edits let me know!
Uploaded this before, then i noticed a scene that wasnt cut correctly. after that i would never have been able to overlook it again when watching the video, so i had to fix it ^^ Hence a re-uploaded.
read the manga and Kota says that he likes Yuka, which is why he comes back to her as a child because they live far away. But did he mean just like or love?? Because Kota has forgotten Yuka, she is very hurt, she was in love with him, but also the other way around? (and if you mean I love you, why do you say I like you, that just confuses)Here is a picture in another language
Hey, I'm currently reading Elfen Lied and I'm wondering if a split personality can really happen as a result of an accident? That made me curious and I only found out on google that it only happens when someone experiences bad trauma as a small child and it happens as a defense mechanism. So is it possible that an accident can cause a split personality like with Lucy/Nyu or is that only possible in anime/manga?
Un ship de los buenotes Bv
I'm on episode 6 and rapidly piecing the clues together. I do not have what most would call "restraint," and I'm probably gonna binge it in one sitting.
Anyways, so far, Yuka is kind of a total B, I have enough trauma for a lifetime, and the cyborg Marine is probably the best character imo. Is there any more insanity I should brace for? Or is it just more gore and stringing along this mystery?
Edit: The dub is also insanely funny. I can not stop laughing because of how they say things. No, I will not watch it subbed or read the manga.
The truth is that I really enjoyed the two versions of the story and here I leave my feelings in a summarized way highlighting the good points of each one in my opinion.
Manga positive points:
-More character development and also interesting characters that do not appear in the anime or do not have the same incidence.
-More details of the diclonius and the reason for the organization.
-The scene of Kaede singing while healing Kouta is very touching and gives meaning to the title of the series.
Manga Negative points:
-More ecchi or obcene scenes that add almost nothing.
-Some characters would have been better off if they had actually died.
Anime positive points:
-A more concise story by putting a more romantic focus on Lucy and Kouta.
-I would like a lot of scenes at the end like for example the closing of Kurama and the Kiss scene between Lucy and Kouta was very touching.
Anime negative points:
-Lack of details of the diclonious and the organization investigating them and the director's ambitions.
-Too open ending.
Even though I particularly prefer the anime, the original source is the manga and I also loved it. But this is just my opinion. Does anyone else like the anime and manga version almost equally?
I have seen the anime, liked it but... not too much like a 6.5 out of 10, is the manga way better or is similar? consider is quite long I'm very doubting I should read too... tell me your opinions
