I’ve only seen like 4 seasons of it as a kid. And not much other animes after that.I always thought it was one of the best Animes, if not the best. however turns out people think otherwise.
Has Naruto become such a stale answer that people like to switch it up now or do other animes really compete with it.
I want to start watching more animes again so I’m curious to see how much better animes can get. I know Jujutsu Kaisen looks good, so I’ll def check that out.
I’d like to hear what you guys think.
I've been looking for some but can't find much after highscool of the dead, zom 100 and high rise invasion.
I've recently I've been looking for some regular hero's party anime/manga that's without all the betrayal etc. and have been struggling to find some.
on a side note does anyone know the name of the manga/anime with the really old elf that was part of the hero's party. I was reading it but forgot its name.

I remember only one thing and that their is a scene where the main character gets stuck in a caved in tunnel while on a bus and he is a doctor (or med student).
I watched it with one of my friends some time ago and they recently passed.

So today I just wanted to simply have a discussion on moments in Anime where an adorable looking character was forced to shed their innoncence because they had to go through a tough moment of sorts.
Maybe it's just me, but sometimes I just find those kind of moments in Anime to be interesting as it can mark a huge shift in a series in tone as a character will be forced to act tough in order to survive, and the other thing to note is that when an anime series has such a moment, it can throw many viewers off guard due to said tone.
Without giving too much away, one iconic example would be Madoka Magica as the show seems pretty innocuous at first, but then has a tremendous change after the first few episodes.
I recall like it was yesterday when I saw the show back then as that move was really shocking since I didn't know who Gen Urobuchi was back in late 2011, so I wasn't familiar with his writing style, and so seeing a moe looking show change like that was not expected.
TLDR: just wanted to discuss moments in anime where the tone changed hard as sometimes a moe looking show does not always stay that way.
Hi everyone :),
Does anyone know if there are any anime that have a power ranking that sorts characters out based on their strength?
For example, there is the hero class ranking from one punch man, sorting heroes from Class C to Class S. Other examples could include most Chinese anime like Battle Through the Heavens and Soul Land
It would be even better if there were obvious signs of characters having a higher rank instead of just being more stronger and powerful like in btth and Soul Land
Hi everyone this is my first post here so if I'm doing something wrong please tell me :)).
I want to watch something similar to Cyberpunk Edgrunners, Supercrooks, Devilman Crybaby. i know its weird cause all of them are different in many ways, but i like that its animation for a certain age but also the topics it talks about even if they are more on a second plane, and also the art is beautiful, i what to watch something visually different of what the "common" anime looks like.
I have seen a lot of popular long running anime or manga being criticised for not having final arcs that were up to the standard of the previous arcs of the series. Something like Naruto great Ninja War Arc and how it was disappointing compared to Pain Assualt or Chunin Exams.
So which anime or manga do actually have amazing final arcs?

What anime/manga are there where the main female characters uses bodysuits, often imagined in "female super spies" or female motorcyclists, similar to Kasuga from Sengoku Basara: Samurai Kings. I don't mind something somewhat close like Rider/Medusa of Fate/stay night: Heaven's Feel.
Only ones I know are Shadow Garden's heroines from The Eminence in Shadow and most of the girls in Kandagawa Jet Girls.
Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.

Yamato was also the first anime series or movie to win the Seiun Award, a feat not repeated until one whole decade later with the film Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind.

Gorō Naya - Voice of Jūzō Okita
A Japanese actor, voice actor, and stage director best known as the voice of iconic characters such as Inspector Zenigata in Lupin III, Chief Shocker in Kamen Rider, Captain Kowalski in Crusher Joe: The Movie, Jūzō Okita in Space Battleship Yamato, and as the dubbed voice of John Cleese, Charlton Heston, Rick Jason, Robert Ryan, Clark Gable, Alec Guinnes, Lee Van Cleef, Martin Landau, and John Wayne. A former member of the Kamikaze Corps, he worked part-time as a child waiter in the sports club of the Mainichi Shimbun after the war, and lived in a sports shop run by an acquaintance in Kyoto while attending junior highschool. He initially enrolled at the Faculty of Law at Ritsumeikan University, but dropped out in 1951 to join the children's theater company Todo. His debut as an actor was in A stage production of Treasure Island. In 1952, at the age of 23, he began appearing frequently on NHK radio, where he made many industry connections, which let him jump around theatre companies until he settled in Theater Echo. Newcomers to Theater Echo were usually made to audition for dubbing roles, which he ultimately found quite suiting as he didn’t need to go through the hassle of getting into costumes or makeup and could perform comfortably. His anime debut was on 1963’s Astro Boy, by which point he was already a prolific and well-established voice actor. After a 1985 hospitalization from a stomach Ulcer Naya suffered from near continuous health problems for the continuing decades, though he continued his work. Naya died in his home in Chiba City due to chronic respiratory failure on March 5th, 2013. On May 21st, 2013 a farewell party was held at the Ebisu Echo Theater, attended by about 300 fellow voice actors and fans. Some of his more notable roles in anime include Sōichirō Ryūzaki in Aim for The Ace! (1979), Gordon Rosewater in The Big O, Leonard Dawson in Goglo 13: The Professional, Yasumasa Hirai in Tokyo: The Doomed Megapolis, Kagemitsu Daigo in Dororo (1969), Phantom Ship’s Captain in Flying Phantom Ship, Emperor Zuul in God Mars, Kiba in Cave Boy Ryu, and Dr. Nanbara in Super Electromagnetic Robot Combattler V.

Questions of the Day:
Did you have any suspicions of Dessler’s return?
What do you think of the finale?
—
Earth… Everything about it is precious.
The final begins today (and it will last 36 hours as the final round of seasonal salt on animebracket!)
The pick-up round will be open until the final results of the seasonal salt Summer 2023. Max to three votes per voter.
Remember animebracket would be closed down by Sep 30th, 2023 if no feasible hand-over plans could be made by that time as you can read the details of in the post made by u/mhackmann here , u/mpp00 has also made it clear that r/anime mod teams have not enough time to take over animebracket. So basically it would be the end of animebracket.. I strongly recommend anyone that is interested in animebracket to take the opportunity to discuss with Mhack to learn about animebracket and to see if we can make some miracles happen before it is too late.
Dear u/Zypker125 is also holding probably the final best ending contest for the time being, I’m sure that’s a great opportunity to enjoy some ed!
So I’ve been looking for an anime, but can’t remember the name, all I remember was this character, she had black hair (wavy) and yellow eyes. She also wore a suit (grey) This is what I remember from my memory, but if someone can help me find this out, I’d be very grateful
When it comes to gore and deep mature themes considering antagonists morales and motivation, as well as shock value things that would be "taboo" in other media and "difficult" concepts like polygamy and survival of the fittest, anime is often more mature then western shows. However ive noticed anime is deadly afraid of showing any intimacy between couples. Even western movies rated for children like Disney Movies and Harry Potter show kisses between 2 characters who grow to like eachother often, and Netflix shows rated for teens and random movies rated for adults show sex all the time or just tell you they did it. Meanwhile you could watch 3 seasons straigh of a literal romance genre anime like Spice and Wolf or Kaguya-Sama without seeing a single kiss scene. Even ecchi anime are terrified of kissing or any type of intimacy at all. As terrible as they were the only anime not like this were School Days and Yosuga No Sora
My mother watched it and told me that she loved it and loved the plot too. She looked for similar ones and she can't find any. Now, the both of us don't really watch anime. We are new to it, so I have no clue what to recommend to her. What would you all suggest?
1 drifters
2 reincarnated as a sword
3 reincarnated as a slim
4 overlord
5 sage of tanya the evill
I have to preface by saying I'm decently new to anime. I've only a handful under my belt. I'm looking for anime shows or movies to watch that are spooky. I have this personal tradition where starting on October 1st to the 31st I ONLY watch or read spooky horror genre stuff. I've been doing it for 8 years running and I enjoy it.
Anyway! I really did not care for the Ito collection on crunchy roll or Netflix. I did like this anime I watched recently. "Another". I really enjoyed that. So If that's something to go off.
So yeah, any horror or spooky anime suggestions?
I'm fairly new to anime and have binged quite a few shows in the past 8 months! I've just finished the Water 7 arc of One Piece in a very short space of time and feel like I need to watch something different that's quite short to finish!
(Not that I didn't like this arc on OP, it's 100% been my fav so far!)
I've watched One Punch Man, My Hero Academia, Demon Slayer, Chainsaw Man and want to watch something short with those vibes, any recommendations before I sink another few months into One Piece?
Hii, I've been watching anime for a while and have just reached the milestone of 99 series. I would like the community to choose my 100th show. I have linked my MAL and anilist account for you guys to see my preference. I like a fair variety of shows and I'm willing to branch out to different genres.
Hit me with 1 show you think is worthy of being my 100th and convince me why I should watch it. Please, nothing too long though. Thanks everyone! Linking my MAL and anilist profiles below.

Here are all of the shows I have watched based purely on enjoyment:
I don't even remember any specific details beyond I'm pretty sure main character is a young kid who gets pulled into some sort of mercenary group in a fantasy/medieval world. lots on badass 1v1 fights (yeah I know that every anime). That's legit all I can remember right now, was on Netflix around the time I first watched fate/zero and gurren lagann on Netflix around 10-12 years ago.
