When I look at the ballot tracking website, for overseas voters, I'm only seeing a white screen. When I open the console (right-click, click "Inspect", go to the "Console" tab), there are a bunch of errors.
Is there any reporting on this? 4 years ago many overseas voters' ballots were discarded due to a last minute change in the law AFTER ballots had already been sent out. This year, it's electronic voting.

I'm just looking for stuff to do in Charleston for Halloween, I had to post here because the Charleston sub is down on my idk, and idc lol.
Anyway, if anyone has any good recommendations, lay it on me.
I have a HS Sophomore who is an honor student and in the top 4% of their class; also a band student. The band directors have announced that an Honors class for band will be available starting next semester but in order to be eligible students must take private lessons as their own expense. To me this seems like it’s just not quite right but I don’t know where to ask. Does anyone have insight?
I just voted early in Lancaster county- it went super smooth and there was no line.
It left me thinking though about something I always find curious… there were of course the notable positions at the top of the ballot, but as you go down ballot you start to have positions like the county coroner (1 person running, republican) and then we had the soil and water commissioner for which nobody was running and there was only a write in field.
So… what happens when nobody is running, assuming a few people got together and did the same person as a write in they would probably win, but what if the person didn’t want the position? It just seems really curious how that actually works and I wonder if we will actually hear what happens.
The other thing I always wonder, if there was actually more than one candidate for coroner why is it a partisan position instead of nonpartisan? Is there actually a difference between a republican and democratic coroner?
Just musings on non consequential election things to take my mind off the big questions 🙂
I registered to vote this September when I got my new license. I even double-checked with the DMV official to make sure I was registered. Today, I went to early voting, and was told that my name wasn't on the list of registered voters.
Thankfully, the poll workers didn't just kick me out--they called around and eventually got confirmation that I had registered when I got my driver's license, but hadn't been added to the voter rolls. They told me to go down to the county office to get registered and then come back. I did just that and finally cast my vote around two and a half hours after I went to vote. I never thought I'd say this, but thank God I'm currently unemployed. Otherwise I wouldn't have had the time.
Here's the thing: I'm definitely not the only one running into difficulties. At the polling station there were two other people waiting with me for the poll workers to straighten out their records. The stressed-looking poll workers themselves told us that they were backed up with voter issues. When I later returned, there were two or three other people waiting for the same reason. At the county office, I asked one of the officials why I hadn't been on the rolls. She told me that she had never seen so many people run into this discrepancy until this election.
If you're planning to vote, drop whatever you're doing and check your registration right now. If your registration doesn't come up, get down to the county office ASAP to straighten things out. Do not let inconvenience snatch away your right to vote.
Lastly, I'd like to give a massive THANK YOU to the poll workers at the McAllister Square polling station in Greenville and the voting registration officials at the Greenville county office. They did their best to help me from start to finish, and without their efforts I wouldn't have been able to vote. I am so, so grateful for their help.
Everything they say about DEHEC in South Carolina is true; they are awful!
I called the Lancaster SC office in advance and before driving there to get a well-water testing kit and while I was told they're starting to do testing onsite with their staffers - I could still come in and get a testing kit. Drove 15 miles to get the kit and was then told "no I couldn't have a kit". I said Gee-Whiz! -when I called the lady said sure come get a kit, and now you're telling me no, it's too bad you drove all the way in today.
Like everyone else posted: they don't care about your time, and they're just another government bureaucracy that is screwed-up, poor staffing, bad moral and government 'don't care' attitudes.
Going to Clemson for the first time for a Baseball game, wondering what the live music options are for the weekend.
Looking for rock karaoke or like cool live music.
Thanks!
I'm going to Augusta midday 10/31/24, but the google map is showing construction on I-20W near the Hwy 1 exit at Lexington. Should I allow for delays? Just wondering what my actual drive time will be. Thanks!
Just moved from IL to SC, if you’re over the age of 21 do you still need to hold a permit for 180 days before you get your license for the first time? I’ve been trying to find answers on the website but I don’t see anything.
Hello I am new to South Carolina (Greenville area) as of last week I had to move for work from Ohio. It’s my anniversary next month and I am looking for any recommendations of romantic weekend getaway spots that’s we could go for acouple days? Looking for something with maybe a spa or by water with restaurants! Willing to travel any direction within 3-4 hours!
I have a couple of free days next week and I’d love photograph bald cypress trees. I’d be traveling alone and I don’t kayak ( or boat). Any recommendations for locations that don’t require being in a boat?
I saw congaree state park in sc and thought maybe that’s an option. But would love to some ideas.
Hello! My wife and I (27) and our 1 year old daughter are looking to move to SC to be closer to family, (Wife’s fam is in Columbia)
To preface, my wife and I lived in Eastern NC from 2018-2022 in New Bern, and we are kicking ourselves for leaving. We loved the small town vibe, low traffic, low cost of housing and taxes, the community was there when shit went down like a hurricane. Unfortunately we had tunnel vision and when I separated from The military, we felt obligated to “move home” which is back to Colorado. It is just not the same and we want to make a move before our little one gets too old and makes things trickier. (We are also at a stake point with jobs, and can rent our house for a net profit in CO.
Maybe you’ve never been to New Bern, but tell me about your favorite small South Carolina towns (5k- 25k people-ish?) We love the outdoors, prefer the mountains over the beach, and would LOVE to be able to have a mini farmstead situation where we have an acre to grow what we’d like and possibly have small animals.
Thank you so much for your time and responses ❤️
Why is healthcare here so bad? I'm in Winnsboro and can't get proper healthcare at all. I know my health insurance is dogshit but still. Also Prisma health sucks, I need to find another place for healthcare. But nobody accepts my insurance, I legit cannot get mental health help anywhere. I get that southerners don't believe in mental health but still. I need help and can't get it
Hey there! I am not from South Carolina, I am simply a US History/Politics nerd from Iowa.
I was recently looking at election results in South Carolina over the years because why not? I noticed that two counties (Spartanburg and Lee) did not set forth results for this election, but they did in every other election going back through history.
I tried to research this, but found nothing telling me why this was the case. I am not familiar with South Carolina, so I just wonder if any residents can help me understand why these two counties have no data.
Meeting is October 31 at 1 PM

Going to a two day trip in the next week just want some ideas of things I can do. I’m going to explore and clear my head, any recommendations would help a ton!
If you're 18 to 39 here in SC get off your butt and go VOTE!! This is just sad. We got so many youngsters here who can vote but they gotta show up!! Tell your friends and family to vote!! GO VOTE!!
My mother’s fiancé is moving her out there next year and has offered for my family to move out there with them. My daughter is ten about to be 11 and will be going into middle school next year, what are the schools like? Is there any night life? High crime rate? I know you can read about these things but I would rather hear from people from there then what google says. I’ve lived in a small town in NC my whole life so this would all be very very new to me and my daughter. We love to go out and do things especially trails, restaurants, farmers markets, flea malls. Also what is the dating life like there, im in an open marriage and I’m bisexual. I’m worried it will be like here stuck in the “old ways” mindset I guess you could say? We are very judged about our marriage here, unfortunately.
Hello, been here my whole life but trying to get into karting, are there any tracks in the columbia(ish) area that have competition or tournament racing? I know there’s frankies but I’m wondering if there’s a place I can learn and practice regularly. Thank you!
