Anyone know of any parks in Spartanburg that have seesaws??
Does anyone know the woman who lives in the house across from Ingles on Country Club Rd & Pine that has the dog in the pen 24/7? I called Animal Control over the summer more than once, and they told me the dog was fine. But now with these low temps, I'm worried again. If I could take it in, I would. If she is receptive to help, I can help provide straw or a fence or whatever she needs that will get this dog out of that pen.
I thought I found her and attempted to make contact, but she was either not receptive, or I had the wrong person.
Hi, guys. This is Matthew Hensley, The Post and Courier's Spartanburg editor.
We plan to take a look at the past few years of Operation Rolling Thunder and have records requests into the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office for reports like what the Institute for Justice ultimately got after suing SCSO (it only looked at 2022). We're looking for people who want to share their experiences from the annual interdiction effort for our upcoming reporting.
What kind of story are we looking to write? Well, we'll follow the facts and want to build as broad of a picture as possible of the annual operation that relies heavily on civil asset forfeiture, which critics say is ripe for abuse. That's why we're looking for people's Rolling Thunder stories to go with whatever documents we receive from the sheriff's office. And while this year's operation was last week and is still relatively fresh for anyone who was stopped or affected by the 100 vehicle searches, we're also interested in past operations.
If you want to share your account or have a perspective you think we need to hear, DM me or email mhensley@postandcourier.com.
I am so SICK AND TIRED of having a green christmas. Please pray we get snow this year. This has been the third year in a row without snow and i am miserable.
I’ll be in between Spartanburg and Greenville. Moving in with a friend I made from a music festival who has lived there for a while. I’ve worked in bars, bartended, fine dining, weddings, and fast casual as a server as well. I prefer bars and fine dining as they usually make the most money. Also would just love suggestions on bars in general- I prefer dive bars, smoking inside, I would say hipster but like an indie/ alt vibe with cheap drinks.
So far I've got City Range, Delaney's, and Eggs up Grill.
Where can I find the sweetest strawberries? I’m trying to introduce my baby to solids and she’ll eat all but the plain flavourless strawberries I buy at Walmart, plus some other fruits. I figured it’d be best to get her strawberries that veer into ultra-sweet territory and I'm having trouble finding it.
Are there any shops/markets/farms that have consistently sweet strawberries anywhere in the bay this time of year, or should I just try to feed her the same fruits everyday to let her get use to the taste? Appreciate any suggestions (especially near the Hilltop area).
I called this morning and voiced my concerns, the lady that took my call was really nice and listened to me, she apologized and put in an order to address ant problem, she also reassured me that they are not throwing the flowers away every month, we will see what happens, thanks for all of your comments, they were very helpful!
We went to set out the Christmas flowers and trees on our family graves like we do every year, as a family tradition. I thought Greenlawn was perpetual care? I have never seen so many massive fire ant mounds on the tombstones, and the flowers I had put out on Mother's Day were knocked over and hidden behind it, destroyed by the fire ants. We had to clear the huge mound away ourselves, getting bit in the process. While we set the Christmas decorations out, a nice man came up and told us we should wait and come back later into December, because the cemetery was under new management, and if we put what we had out, it will be thrown away at the end of November. So they'll throw the flowers out every month instead of seasonally. Does anyone know anything about this? Has anyone visited the cemetery and felt it had been neglected?
Y’all watch out out there
If you’re traveling on I-85 in Spartanburg County this week, be very cautious. Rolling Thunder is underway. Spartanburg County Sheriff Chuck Wright invites law enforcement lent agencies from around the state to enforce traffic laws that often lead to other investigations. Mind your speed and driving behaviors.
So yesterday I got run over by a car while I was out for a run. I got a citation while in the hospital, which was just the greatest cherry on top.
I was on Reideville Rd, running on the sidewalk. A truck came up a side street and was going to turn onto Reideville. We got to the intersection at about the same time. I stopped. He stopped at the stop sign and then I began crossing. I started on his passenger side. When I got to his driver side, he decided to go while I was in front of him. He drove into me and didn't even look forward for a full 5-10 seconds. I managed to make it out with just a busted ankle, which I'm grateful for. I could have been crushed or hit by another car (I got pushed into the left lane on Reideville).
Apparently in SC, pedestrians only have right of way at a stop sign/intersection if there is a PAINTED crosswalk. This is the only state I've lived where this is a thing. I got a citation for violating pedestrians right of way in a crosswalk.
So be careful out there. There are a lot of bad drivers and the law isn't exactly behind people who enjoy walking/running.
Most nights, you can also see Saturn if you look towards the west. Much dimmer, but it doesn’t twinkle.
I use a stargazing app on my phone, but it’s nice to know even out here in the Burg you can see some planets really well. If you see a very bright star right around sunset that’s probably Venus.
Anyone else have to pay 60% of their bill after not having internet for 31 days? I called them this morning and they would not budge off of the taking 40% off even though I didn't have service for a whole month.
Ok, I've driven by this sign for a while now. It's just behind Scotchman gas station on Battleground Rd in Cowpens. The bottom says "Piedmont Tool and Supply Co, Inc" (it's easier to read on the other side). I'm going to assume there aren't video games at this gas station 24 hours a day (unless...?) My best guess is that the sign is leftover from a closed business. Anyone know?
Does anyone know if there's a local Christmas Radio station I can listen to right now?
Just moved here. Looking to get into some pickup basketball, I live in highland w outside courts but no one is ever there? Any inside courts?
Where can I get the Greek dessert Baklava in Spartanburg? I don’t think the spice has it anymore. Thanks!

Hello Y’all I’m a co op student from Purdue hoping to find some cheap housing near USC Upstate for my co op with Keurig! lemme know if anyone’s looking to get out of a lease :)
My department consists of employees in four different states and we are planning a retreat in Spartanburg in January. I am looking for recommendations for team building activities in Spartanburg. In previous years, we have gone bowling and to an escape room. What does Spartanburg offer for a group of 8-10 professionals who don't know each other that well but can spend a few hours in the evening getting to know each other better while participating in some type of activity?
Hi Spartanburg Folks,
One of our food vendors canceled on us last minute and we hope you can help us out.
We are hosting the CANCON Fully-Suppressed Range Day event (canconevent.com) in Clinton this weekend on Friday and Saturday. We expect approximately 2000 attendees per day. We had 2 food vendors scheduled to come sell food to our patrons, but one of them cancelled on us late this afternoon.
Do any of you know of or operate a food service that would be interested in coming out to prepare and sell food & drinks to our audience? This event takes place at the Clinton House Shooting Complex from 9AM to 4PM on both Friday November 8th, and Saturday November 9th. All inquiries are welcome. This is an outdoor event, so you should be prepared to operate in this weekend's weather.
Please let us know if you are interested in participating. There is no cost to provide food, but you must clear your service with us ahead of time.
Thanks,
Write in anyone else for sheriff 😂 but honestly, can someone PLEASE run against this guy in 4 years??
Hi! I haven't played since high school but still think of it so often. I'd love to find one to play. I've reached out to some of the colleges, but you usually have to play in their community bands and I don't have time right now. I am also unable to pay thousands for even a used one.
Do you know of anyone that has a bassoon I could use or borrow??? I could pay a monthly rental fee and would be extremely cautious with it.
Please share with any and all that might have a lead. I'd love to rekindle my passion for playing.
Thank you for reading/helping. Wishing you well ☀️
