Best place to get a car hand washed?

What is the best place that will hand wash cars? I don’t need a full detail just a good wash outside and vacuum inside.

I have a black SUV so I don’t take it to the auto wash places like Whatta Wash.

Early Voting - Voting at the County Office

I just commented on another thread, but posting here as well for additional visibility.

Here's the link to early voting info, including locations where you can do this. All you need is a valid ID; here's the list of what's accepted. You can vote early through this Saturday; locations are open from 8:30 am - 6 pm. Otherwise, you will have to wait until Tuesday.

I voted today at the County Voter Registration office; 366 N Church St. (where you go to pay property taxes). I went shortly after 1pm. I set my timer when I got in line and stopped it when I left the room after voting. 22 minutes. About 15 minutes in line until I reached the registration desk. Very smooth process and the poll workers were giving clear instructions for everything once you get inside the building.

This can be intimidating for people who have never voted, or are wary of voting somewhere other than the regular polling place. Here's what to expect for the County office: The polling place is on the back side of the building, on the Northwest end (looks like a loading dock). In my photo, it's the red star. If you need to park close, there is parking in the area but it was a little tight. If you don't need to park close, park on the side of the building (closest to Krispy Kreme) and walk to the polling entrance. Or you can park in the front parking lot and walk around, or walk through the building and down the stairs. If you have mobility restrictions it looks like they have curbside voting options. There is a "Vote" flag at one of the back (Magnolia St) entrances, and drive over toward the blue tent in the parking lot to request assistance.

Have your ID ready when you approach the registration desk. Your phone should be put away when you enter the voting room, and don't take it out until you leave the voting room. Once you are called to the desk, the poll worker will verify your address and date of birth, then you sign to verify the info. You will be given a ballot with your info printed at the top. You will be directed to the next open voting booth, then insert your ballot. Then you will go through the choices for all candidates, unless you vote straight ticket. It was 2 pages, maybe 10 seats total? All are multiple choice, unless you choose to write in a candidate. You can skip any of the options, except the Amendment. Here is a list of all the open seats, with additional links if you want to read up on the local candidates before voting. There is also a vote for "Amendment 1". I didn't know about this until after I voted. Looks like they are just changing a word in the voting rights verbiage to be more decisive about voting rights. Doesn't seem to change anything on the surface; however, the original version included an abortion rights question (which was later removed). On the surface this seems innocuous, but read up on this if you want to be 100% sure before you vote.

After you confirm your selections, your ballot choices will be printed and your ballot will come back out of the machine. Turn it printed side down, then proceed toward one of the submission machines at the back door of the voting room. Insert the ballot, face down, into the machine, then you're done. Don't leave the room until you've submitted your ballot, or your vote will NOT be valid!! Exit the room and proceed up the steps and out the back door. If you need instructions, there will be a poll worker in the hallway who can tell you where to go to most easily get back to your car.

No matter if you vote this week or next Tuesday, just make sure you do it!!

What's up with all the water on Rainbow Lake road, Boiling Springs???

As the title states, there has been constant water flowing out/near the water tower/reservoir on Rainbow Lake road Boiling Springs for a week now. What's going on? Seems like someone's yard would be flooded. It seems to be flowing out into Bible Church Rd.

Clint Black Tickets

I have 2 Clint Black tickets for this Friday the 1st at 7:30pm at the Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium. They are balcony tickets and pretty decent tickets. Seats A17,A19.

I forgot about the concert and made other plans. I’d like to sell them if anyone is interested. No scams. I’ll transfer the tickets from Ticketmaster after sale.

DM if interested. Thanks!

(Mods, if this isn’t allowed please let me know and I will remove)

Send me your Westgate Mall photos please!

Hello! My name is Paulina and I am a senior at Wofford College working on my humanities capstone. I am creating a photo book involving photos of the Westgate Mall in the past, and comparing it to what it looks like in its current state. I am looking for any old photos of the interior or yourself. Also, I am looking for people that are willing to be interviewed/asked a few questions about the details about the mall to be featured in the book. I would love to have a discussion about your past memories and experiences of the Westgate Mall, and how it has evolved.

Please text me at (864)-202-0175 for any questions and/or to send photographs or any relevant information. Thank you!

Looking for home to rent that’s very pet friendly

So I’ve done a lot of searching online already, the usual haunts like rent.com, Trulia, Zillow etc etc etc

What i’m looking for doesn’t seem to exist really but I figured I’d ask here.

I’m looking for a home to rent at least one bedroom, any where in Spartanburg or any small surrounding towns within a 45 minute drive at best that most importantly will allow 5 cats, 3 dogs and 3 small reptiles.

My girlfriend’s current home she rented in Union got pretty destroyed by the hurricane she’s been staying with family but that’s a short term solution. Her landlord said it would take 6-8 months to get insurance claims paid out and fully repaired but in the mean time he still wanted his $800 a month rent until then for a place with no power no running water and two trees cashed in to it, making it unlivable.

A tall damn order i know. I’ve found plenty of places that are “pet friendly” and will allow dogs and cats but usually a very limited number. And no, I cannot nor will not downsize my pets to accommodate these options so far.

All pets are well trained and behaved. They are walked and given time outside on leashes and clean indoors. This would be for my girlfriend and myself, if you need details we both have two jobs so rent shouldn’t be an issue unless someone’s wanting multiple thousands each month.

It would need to be a house, trailer or townhome as I know no apartment complex is going to allow pets like this. I’m not above living in a trailer park if it means I keep my family together.

So if anyone knows someone that’s got an option to rent or anything else I haven’t considered I’m all ears

I have my concerns/doubts because I have a 2.75 gpa and worried about how more difficult the upstate classes may be. I graduated high school with a 3.75 and I dropped out of SCC once but decided to finish and my gpa went waay down to a 2.7. I finish my last semester of SCC in December, any suggestions/advice?

Looking for people to ride motos with

I posted before pre-storm mess but now that's cleared I'm posting again: looking for ppl to ride with. I ride a small dual sport so dual sport riders, supermotos, groms, etc match up best with my speed and preferred terrain. It's fall - peak riding weather. Hit me back if interested - let's ride around town or head for the hills!

Recommendations for Home Remodeling/Renovation in Spartanburg?

I recently inherited a home that my family and I are planning to move into. The house was built in the 1960s, and while it’s structurally very sound, the electrical system needs to be completely rewired throughout most of the house. We're also looking to make modifications to some of the layout and update the kitchen.

I tried using Angie’s List and got the names of a few renovators. Out of the four I contacted over two months ago, two didn’t respond, one came out but has been very slow in providing a quote, and the other gave me what felt like a “not worth my time” price (over $150k).

Can anyone recommend a reputable general contractor or someone who handles this type of work in the Spartanburg area?

Do you work at the BMW plant?

Do you work at the Spartanburg BMW plant?

Is there a way to buy the work clothes online please?

I was there a few months ago and the clothes in the gift shop were I think geared towards an older bougier crowd than I am

I was there on a Friday just after noon maybe and of course that was the one day the plant clothing store closed early

Is there a way to buy that stuff online please? I haven’t found via google but it seems like the option may be out there somewhere.

Thanks in advance

Moving?

Hey all I (25 M) am leaving Florida to get started on my own. Though.... Daytona Beach is all I have ever known. I'm looking to move here for a few reasons but the main reason? It's cheaper to live in SC compared to FL.

So, this is my first time ever moving away/out so I'm on my own in this. Any advice on the lay of the land?

What apartments are good, which ones to avoid. Are there any cool spots to unwind and take in the scenery? Any nerdy hangouts like video game shops, arcades, or anything in the vain of dorkyness?

My plan is to move out by the 9th of November due to various circumstances. So any and all help would be deeply appreciated. Thank you for your help.

Visiting post-Helene

Hi, I was planning on visiting in about 3 weeks. Wasn’t exactly sure how bad Spartanburg got hit compared to Asheville. Are things (at least the basics) back to normal? drinkable water, cell service, etc.

Are the major road(s) into town open?

Anybody know the best hotel to stay at in Spartanburg?

Just in general. Regardless of pricing.

I want to stay somewhere with my boyfriend for New Year’s Eve and am curious as to where the best hotel in the city is? Do any of them do any type of New Year’s Eve event?
