Lex in Season 4 "slowly" turning evil

I feel like I expected Lex turns to evil to be a bit more natural. Although indeed I feel like there was a fine line that Michael always portrayed so well between good and evil for Lex, more due to the writing of season 4 I feel like Lex was quite drastically different from season 3. I feel like in season 3 he still wanted to protect Clark like he knew Clark was different always in his mind, but just never had definite proof but he also never tried to fully expose him because I feel like he was keeping that line of friendship and protecting him from his father. I did not quite understand the tipping point he had this season where he kept trying to manipulate and try to get an Clark to expose himself. I feel like Lionel had done so much worse to him in the season 3 that you would expect that to be the tipping point, but I guess it was the fact that Lionel did in fact have the artifact when he kept insisting he changed his ways. I do not know, but I have started season 5 now and you can definitely see Lex is all in on figuring out Clarks secret especially after confirming there are in fact aliens due to the kryptonians making an appearance.

Jensen ACKLES

So I skipped most of season 2 and 3 of supernatural because I got tired of Lana and Chloe and Clark and their weird love triangle that really should not be a triangle(Chloe is superior). And I was told to skip to season 4 to meet Lois and I love her less than 2 minutes into meeting her. But Jensen ACKLES is in this thing. I repeat Jensen ACKLES, one of the most beautiful men on this planet, is in it. I am sat. Also Lana is in Paris, tell me she stays there please. Never mind she just ran into Jensen ACKLES, she can stay for now. I love him already. I just let out a squeal. Lana does not deserve him. I do. Also what the hell happened in season 3? Jonathan is in a coma? He's brain dead? Huh? This kind of turned into a live watch tweet or so. I apologize.

Lionel really did die to protect Clark.

The Luthercorp building is just next door to the Daily Planet. Idk if Lionel knew Clark was their but he did know Clark could save him, maybe a phone call, but he chose to let himself die. That's why he doesn't do anything and let's himself just fall.

Clark (and almost everyone really) are written to be such comically bad liars

Honestly (pun not intended) - why are the characters written to be such terrible liars in the show? Especially Clark?

Like, a typical scene will involve a character saying something along the lines of "I saw something extraordinary! A hero who can run really fast!"

And Clark or Chloe or someone else trying to cover their tracks, be it a meteor freak, a kryptonian, an alien, a perpetrator, etc. will say something like "Well, you might have been hallucinating." Or "Well, you hit your head pretty badly. Maybe you were dreaming..." Or even "Maybe it was the wind."

The very first thing they always do is try to dispel it by acting like the person is crazy rather than a more casual reaction that makes them look less obviously guilty. Like "Wow. That's amazing. Tell me more" or "That's cool. What else did you see?"

Especially in a place like Smallville where the weird and unexplained happen literally every week.

Infamous S8 ep15

I sorta understand why Clark bailed on Lois and didn’t meet with her. However that scene always bothers me nevertheless, am I alone on this? Lol

What if lex stayed after season 7 how would you change the following seasons to fit him in with all the same characters ?

What story arcs would you have liked to see?

Lois and Lana are a testament to each other.

If you ask 100 people walking on the street, who the love of Clark Kent's life is, the vast majority will say Lois Lane. She is synonymous with Superman, stars alongside him in every TV show and movie, and is a co-protagonist in their stories. But she is not his first love. That will always be Lana Lang, a lesser known part of Clark's story, but important to his overall journey.

So in a show about Clark's life before he is Superman, one that is already establishing Lex Luthor as a friend who will inevitably devolve into Superman's greatest enemy, how do people get invested in the romance between Clark and Lana, most knowing it's never going to last? Well, you hire Kristin Kreuk lol. Not only is she beautiful in a soft and dreamy way, perfect to play the unattainable girl next door, but she has this air of innocence, where even when she is being deceitful or harsh, it's hard not to justify her less than stellar actions. One moment that comes to mind is when Chloe says she wants Clark to have a strong loyalty in his life and is not sure it's from Lana, and arguably Lana is being rightfully chagrined, but her face is so affronted and without the context of her actions, I can see myself feeling like she had a right to be affronted lol. It's hard to explain, but there is a earnestness and genuine quality in the way Kristin Kreuk portrays Lana Lang that I can see people finding very appealing. Combine that with her chemistry with Tom Welling and it is at times a lethal pairing.

Lois Lane came in like a force of nature, barreling into Clark's life like she belonged there. Where Lana was kind, Lois was bold. Where Lana was sweet, Lois was snarky. Where Lana was beautiful and soft, Lois was sexy and strong. And the character had so many restrictions on how she could interact with Clark and with her eventual story. She and Clark couldn't be romantic at all, she didn't have a scene with Lex Luthor until the episode Lucy, she couldn't even be interested in journalism at first. Typically, Clark Kent meets Lois Lane when he starts working at the Daily Planet, and he falls in love with her at first sight. But again, because they already did this with Clark and Lana, and romance was off the table for so long, how do they get people to believe and invest in this perceived interloper who is actually going to be the love of Clark's life? By all those subtle and not so subtle hints throughout those years they couldn't be together. Things like wearing Superman's colors, jealousy that flares up every now and then, Clark's blink-and-you-miss-it gulps and waterfall looks when Lois is in a dress or a stars and stripes bikini or a miniskirt or a red leather getup. Things like their constant flirtationship they have, always being snarky with one another. Things like their friendship that deepened over time and their consistent ability to be there for each other, whether that's Clark rescuing Lois unbeknownst to her, Lois giving him some solid advice, or comforting each other through painful breakups. All of this worked for me. Lois and Clark weren't a will-they-won't-they, they were a when-will-they. They were like 2 magnets, or 2 meteors, destined to crash into each other and be irrevocably altered. It doesn't hurt that Tom Welling and Erica Durance had lightning-in-a-bottle chemistry that never felt stale and carried their dynamic before an undeniable romance between Lois and Clark could happen.

Clark loved Lana, with everything he had at that time. But every time he learned something new about her, or how her experiences had changed her from that perfect picture he had in his mind, it gave him pause. It's almost the opposite with Lois. Every time he learned something new about her, it altered his view of thinking she was annoying and a hassle lol, and he found himself surprised at the depths Lois hid.

Season 8 is a controversial season for a lot of reasons, but one that people will probably always have a problem with is the resurgence of Clana. I am not a fan myself, I think tonally it makes much more sense to happen in season 7, but we got what we got. The fascinating thing is that the catalyst for Clark accepting his feelings for Lois, after losing who he thought was the love of his life when kryptosuit Lana leaves him for the umpteenth and final time, is her showing her heart to the Blur. Up to this point, Lois has been hesitant in pursuing something more with Clark, thinking he doesn't like her or that he's not over Lana, or that she's afraid to be vulnerable with someone she is so close to. And Clark loved Lana so much that he cannot fathom falling for anyone else. He says it multiple times, not that it isn't possible, but that he can't see it ever happening, which is a testament to the impact Lana had on his life. And anyone with eyes can see that Clark is attracted to Lois, and I would personally argue that's been the case since the beginning, and it was his preconceived notions of who he thought he should be with and his perception of Lois' lack of interest that helped him ignore that attraction. Same for Lois, though she figures it out a bit quicker than our poor Clarkie lol. But I digress. Because the point isn't the physical attraction that Clark can't ignore anymore, but Lois' heart. She opens up to him and is vulnerable with Clark as the Blur, and Clark is powerless. This flawed woman, with all her bluster and bravado, was hiding the most pure heart Clark has ever known, something he loves about Lois so much he puts it in his vows. And he fell so hard for that woman, and he falls for her again each time, when she surprises him or teases him or is sweet and soft with him. And there is something so special in Clark ultimately embracing his feelings for Lois not because of her outer beauty, which is undeniable, but because of her inner beauty, something she guards as fiercely as Clark guards his secret.

Lana got 7 seasons and a few episodes as a romantic partner for Clark. Lois got 2ish seasons. So again, with all that time spent on a doomed relationship, how do they get people to accept and appreciate the inevitability of Lois and Clark? Well, one of the liberties this show took was the notion of destiny. If I'm not mistaken, Clark landing with the Kents wasn't a destined thing, it was luck. But in Smallville, where destiny and fate are these tangible things, Lois' fate is in woven into Clark's. She is threaded into his destiny, and he into hers. She finds him in the same field the Kents did, his sneezing the barn door apart inspires her to become a reporter, she gives him the idea of a suit and glasses in an alternate world, she gets him the application to work at the Daily Planet, she(along with Jimmy's photo) is the reason the Red Blue Blur becomes a thing, he encourages her when she's losing faith in her skills as a reporter, and in season 10 she helps him cultivate his two lives, eventually being the person to give him the name of Superman, though we don't see it. Dr. Fate says, "She is the key." All of this wouldn't be needed if Lana hadn't been so impactful in her own way.

Now some people see this as Lois and Clark being forced or having to be together simply because of canon. But I see it as Kristin made Lana a real contender in a way she hadn't been before, and it is a testament to her portrayal that only something as amazing as Lois' pure heart and destiny and fate, that Clark was able to move on to the love of his life. Only something as amazing as Lois' unshakeable belief in Clark could inspire him to become the world's greatest superhero. If Lana hadn't been what she was, Lois wouldn't have been what she becomes. And what she becomes is Clark's soulmate, and exactly what he needs.

I just finished season one!

Honestly, I’ve never really cared about superhero stories that much but from episode one this show had me hooked! I love the idea of having a show based around Clark Kent’s origins.. Clark is a great character and his friendships/relationships with everyone in the show is very nice, he has a great dynamic with almost everyone (especially his parents who I also love). I definitely adore him and Lana’s slow burn so i’m very excited to see where they go next season!

Also, I hope we get more answers about Clark’s actual origins next season. Like, it’d be totally fun to learn more about his real parents, the planet he comes from, etc. We have so much lore to explore so I hope they go that route as I think it’d make the show literally so much better.

I think I'm a fan of guy kinda losing his mind, not caring that there's an audience and just finally planting one on his ladylove❤

Harry looked around; there was Ginny running towards him; she had a hard, blazing look in her face as she threw her arms around him. And without thinking, without planning it, without worrying about the fact that fifty people were watching, Harry kissed her.

What is going on with season 4??

Season 3 was so tight, all the plotlines converged naturally to this really dramatic, almost Shakespearean conclusion. Then in season 4, it's like

"oh there's a crystal hunt we never heard anything about before"

"oh Chloe escaped into a random ass secret tunnel"

"oh, Clark is a Jor-El zombie now, but we'll just undo that in an episode and Jor-El won't do anything about it"

"oh suddenly football and school shenanigans are the main theme again"

"oh now Lana has a magic Kryptonian tattoo... from Paris"

"oh, Lionel gets convenient amnesia and a cure. Also, Lex just goes with it"

it's like a totally different creative team took over and tried to make the show dumber and sexier. Lois was great, but everything else... yeesh

A nice and cool look Behind The Scenes (Part1)

I found this on YouTube and it is very interesting and refreshing. You can see the sets, listen to the actors talk, and watch them film scenes. Everyone seems so excited and engaged. Man, I needed this after the depression news this week. This is part 1. I can post part 2 later. Enjoy if you haven't seen it yet, or watch it again.

Smallville 1-7 & 8-10

Doing my 10th rewatch of the series and I just reached S8. Seasons 1-7 felt like one show and seasons 8-10 feels like a spin off in the best way possible. I love the entire series as a whole but the tone in the later seasons (8-10) is probably my favorite overall especially with Clois.
