Towing TJ

I’m going to the beach this summer with my family and was planning on taking my 2002 TJ with us to tow behind my expedition. I’m totally new to towing and have never done it before. Looking for any tips, info or any advice, really. I will not be towing very often so is a tow dolly a viable option to save some money or should I just get a full tow kit. Thanks in advance !

Hey guys! I’m looking at a 73 Jeep Wagoneer right now. How reliable are the v8’s as daily drivers? And is there anything else I should look out for? It just got a new carb and it has no leaks.

How easy are parts to come by?

Update: Dealership left my windows down in rain.

Update and advice needed for JGC overland (original post below)

After speaking with the dealerships owners son ( mutual friend knew him and he called me) and met w general manager after work . Both tried to make me feel as though I was making a Mountain out of a molehill and “nothing would happen” “ never seen anything come of this” “still have factory warranty”.

I told him that if he was so confident everything would be fine he wouldn’t hesitate to put in writing that the dealership, not warranty, would cover the car should it come up w future damage /failures. We still have not taken the car back from them.

So he is putting the wording together and sending it to me to review:

My question is: What specifically should I look for in the letter to cover for damage and failure?

What length? Years? Mileage??

When take back possession of car, what should I check myself before leaving the lot?

——————————————- Original post :

Dealership left my windows down in rain. Recourse?

While my (just bought it a month ago, 2023 Overland 14k miles) was at jeep dealership for a repair (mouse got in to air filter), and while airing it out in the lot (been there since Sunday night, had to wait on part) the techs left all four windows down and car is soaked.
Needless to say we are pissed. We didn’t purchase at this dealer but it was in their care while being worked on.

Service manager said he would “take care of us”, “warranty “ blah blah No we didn’t think to take pictures

Left it there in the shop overnight to dry out and they are going to work on it tomorrow.

I highly doubt the car will ever be the same. I’m Worried about the screen on the passenger dash and all the electronics in the seat and doors

What recourse do I have?

Mileage Check for all you Jeepers. List your Jeep and mileage!

I'll go first. 2012 Jeep JKU 207K miles. And the AM/FM radio stopped working. Otherwise, still jeepin'.

Is this dent in my windshield frame repairable?

I have zero idea when I got this dent. I only noticed it the last time I washed the Jeep after the last trail ride I did.

I don’t recall anything within the last two rides even coming close to the windshield, but nevertheless there is a dent.

Is this something a paintless dent repair person could take out? Or is it in a bad spot where my only option is either to replace the window frame or cover it up with a light bar?

2005 Jeep Cherokee 2.8 CRD LTD

Good day

I am looking into buying a 2005 Jeep Cherokee 2.8 CRD LTD manual transmission. Think they're called KJ's. Is it a good vehicle and reliable? One I'm looking at has about 240 000km on it.

Any input will be appreciated

Uppercase P on my jeep

I recently bought a jeep Cherokee a few days ago and noticed that the “P” on the front of the car seems to be uppercase- was wondering why that is or if anybody else has seen this before?

WJ Grand Cherokee electric radiator fan question.

I have a 2001 jeep grand cherokee that I have been trying to put together. It was broken down. I recently got it running. Now I am trying to figure out the heating issue. This version of the Jeep has a fan clutch on the engine and an electric fan. I do not have the fan clutch installed currently. But, the electric fan does not seem to be turning on all the time. It turned on yesterday slowly and today I had the coolant temp up to 230 degrees and it still did not turn on(I then shut the engine off). As far as I can tell it should turn on by about 220 degrees. Not sure though I am a little over my head on this Jeep project. I thought it was going to a quick fix. It was not.

ANYHOW.

The question I have for the community today would be. Can I not use the fan clutch and just use the electric fan on this year of Jeep Grand Cherokee? If no can I just use an electric fan from a 2004 which I hear doesn't use the fan clutch? What Temperature should I expect the fan to turn on?

Thank you in advance.

5 point harness

Anyone installed one before? I’m looking at them and trying to figure out what the website means by ‘some adaption maybe be required’ if that means modifying anything inside?

What do yall think??

Got this thing several years ago & never really did anything with it other than use it at the deer lease. Recently put new tires & Badlands 12k pound winch. Took it to the off road park for the first time a week or so ago.

P0010 code but car runs fine

I got a P0010 code for the first time ever for my 2017 JKU with the 3.6 Pentastar with 84k miles. Pulled the code via OBD and says it’s an: “A” Camshaft Position Actuator Circuit. I cleared the code then restarted the car to see if it would come back, was fine for about a day. The next day I was driving and the code appeared again. The car runs completely fine, no limp mode, no loss of power. Any thoughts on what/how/where to check or how to resolve? Thanks in advance.

Transmission Filter

Hey all this might be a stupid question but I’ve read in few different places that jeeps have a second transmission filter that gets missed a lot. I’ve got a 2005 Cherokee and I was just wondering if that’s truly the case and where the second one might be located.

Cruise Control Weirdness

Our 2018 Compass Trailhawk is suddenly showing cruise control speed in KPH, rather than MPH. All of the settings are set to imperial / standard rather than metric, and everywhere else it's showing MPH. Has anyone seen this?

Engine rattles a little loud when in reverse

I just bought a used 2020 Jeep compass Trailhawk, 88k miles but that doesn’t bother me cause I dont go anywhere but I love it! I recently noticed sometimes when I put it in reverse and I’m stationary the engine rattles a little louder for a couple of seconds then stops. Anyone got any suggestions? Internet sayin my torque strut mount is shot? Open to all suggestions!
