So I’m looking to get some rock lights for my bfs jeep (2016 hard rock) he really liked the dcs rock lights that fit in the preexisting holes so no drilling but you can only get them in one solid color. Not rgb or anything like that. I have the oracle ones and they do all kinds of fancy stuff and I’ve looked all over and wondered if there are any like the dcs no drilling but also have the options like the oracle lights. Thankssss
Jeep Liberty Kj, I would like to get some wheels and tires that gives a Overland/Prerunner look, any ideas?
I got a 2015 JKU Sport, 106k miles. Just did a thermostat on it tonight and flushed/drained all the coolant I could out the system. Some left over from previous coolant but not to much of concern as the radiator was changed at 103k miles. She’s overheating to about 3/4s on the temp, then bumps down to half again pretty quickly. Has anyone experienced this or what do you recommend?
I got a Mopar Thermstat and used Mopar Coolant, some of it mixed with previous coolant that was left in block which I though I flushed it all out, previous coolant should of been OAT which is what the dealer told me goes into my Jeep.
After replacing the thermostat she holds pressure but tends to overheat and goes right back down, doing it consistently throughout a drive, are turns to cold when heat is on aswell.
Is a 160k+ Grand Cherokee Altidue a good purchase ? Please let me know
English 101 final essay, in 2000 words I have to connect and discuss Discourses within this group. I chose Jeep because of the diverse lineup and as a result the wide range of people that are in this group. I will be going over people's attitudes towards new owners and owners of non-wrangler models, the modifications and customizations deemed acceptable and not acceptable, what makes people dub a car "not a real jeep", and the culture and community in general. Any comments, questions, or suggestions are welcome I'm trying to learn as much as I can about this community in order to get a good grade!
I ended up in a ditch last winter with no damage pretty much. When the tow truck pulled me out I noticed a neon green substance on the snow. Im thinking freeon was leaking from underneath. This past summer my car was blowing hot air.
I will do a leak test next spring.
I am thinking it might be my condensor. Any particular signs I should look for?
2015 jeep wrangler jk
Also my air went from cold to slightly cold to hot within two weeks while it made a hissing noise through the vents
Thank you
Just noticed a few spots of oil on my regular parking spot for our 2011 JK with ~70k miles. I got under it and noticed oil in the spots on the pictures. We've had it since new and have kept up with maintenance, but before I take it to the shop I thought to ask for opinions. Does it look like a transmission oil leak? and if it is and you've had to deal with a repair like that how big was the work and the bill?
I'm still a little shaken up and am about to leave to purchase a dash cam. I have a stock Jeep TJ and was cruising down the highway doing about 80 with the rest of traffic when a RAV4 going significantly slower (maybe 45-50) cut in front of me with no blinker (seems to be common in the Phoenix area). Usually I anticipate this kind of thing because it seems like we have a higher level of intoxicated drivers in AZ but admittedly today, I was not being as alert as I should have been.
So anyways, I hit the brakes hard. Knew I didn't have ABS so I didn't just slam on them but instead firmly applied increasing pressure. Problem was the tires on the left side locked up before the right and the Jeep pulled hard to one direction. Thought I'd had more pedal before I locked anything up.
It felt like back end was about to come around and I think it started to for a second but I eased off the brakes, counter-steered, continued braking moderately hard and luckily saved it. Funny part is, the RAV4 driver seemed completely clueless as to what happened. I was terrified that the rear was going to swing the other direction and send me in a spin because of the short wheel base.
How do you guys handle situations like this? I know TJs are not the most highway friendly vehicles and are quite outdated compared to any modern car, but I imagine newer Wranglers have similar issues due to the inherent nature of the short wheelbase.
idk if this is the place to ask this i’ve looked around on forums but never really got a clear answer, my XJ won’t start unless i tap the gas a little bit and ive been pointed to TPS and IAC but have been told i should get CEL for these things i only have codes for VSS and my o2 sensors. i’m thinking about replacing both just to be safe but would love some advice if possible
Hi, I am a 24-year-old girl who knows nothing about cars. I rented a car on Turo, which got scratched (I don't know how). The owner got a first quote of $1500. I demanded a second estimate because I thought the first quote was unnecessarily high. The second quote is about $500. I would love some opinions on whether this is a reasonable price based on the damage.
Hi, has anyone had any experience purchasing a part directly from the Bestop site?
I have been communicating back and forth with a local dealership for a little over a month about a 4 door Wrangler Sport S with a few options, nothing spectacular.
They told me the vehicle was “stuck” at the local yard, awaiting delivery. Apparently due to “lay offs” there is a back log of vehicles not being transported.
At that time it was listed for $42,000. Well, I just looked again, they have raised the price $5000 and now they have it on the lot.
What a joke, it’s no wonder Jeep is sinking like a cement shoe
Just got some traction boards and curious if anyone has good recommendations for storage options or joint options? 11 4D Wrangler would be the vehicle. Only seen for JL. Appreciate it!
my check engine light came on the other day and i read the codes and it said spark plugs. i had a buddy who is a tech at the ford dealership near my house, change the spark plugs and also switch the coils in cylinder 1 and 2 because he also said there was a cylinder 2 misfire. we thought the problem was fixed and sure enough the next day the check engine light came back on and it was a cylinder 2 misfire. he read some forums and they for the most part said that i would have to pay a good chunk of money to repair the engine. what should i do? should i repair the engine? should i replace the engine? should i just get a new car as this is my daily? i appreciate your help.
We got her back in July. 2024 Wrangler 4xe High Altitude. I need a name! Husband helped me take the doors off for this pic 😂.
Hey guys,
Bought a 2019 Jeep Wrangler S 4 Cyl. w/Turbo and it's been working perfect until today when the battery died I assume because they were kind of getting up there in years. Hopefully. I've never owned anything this new let alone a jeep. Well, now the check engine light is on after getting a jump, but otherwise the car sounds normal and runs normal. Looked online and most things point to the computer. Think I might drive to an Autozone and get it checked out before they close. Anyone have any experience with this?
Thanks guys!
P.S. Freaking love this thing otherwise. Still getting used to the jeep wave. Ya'll are weird.
Anyone have any experience with the error code P0740? We have a 2011 Wrangler - 113k miles and it’s driving fine. Error code indicates the TCC is not engaging. We have been told we need to replace the transmission. Had one instance of the transmission over heating when coming back from the airport which is about 20 miles away. Only drive it short trips around town not a daily driver. Just a fun car. Would love to hear what others have done and if it needs a transmission, who do you recommend? We are in Central Indiana.
hey all, i've had my jeep for about a year, and it always used to show the album art while playing my cd's. now all of a sudden it stops showing the album art? any ideas on how to fix this?
