I've been tossing around the idea of boosting the WJ up to 33s. (Currently on 245/70r17 w/ OME HD lift)
Went down the rabbithole of "what tires will fit with what lift" and ran across images of the Bushwacker WJ. From what I've found, it's a BDS 4" lift on 33s (which is the lift I've been considering for a while now).
I already know I'll have to do some trimming ("some" 🤣) for 33s and it seems the Bushwacker flares address this by adding width to the front & rear wheelwells. My rears are already cut, seemingly pretty close dimensionally to what I've seen in a couple of Bushwacker install videos.
But I'm on the fence as far as aesthetics. I think the stark black on silver color is what's bugging me. 🤔
So what are some thoughts here?
I had the BCM replaced because it would not want to start at times acting like it was dead but the screen was on with no backlight. The battery is brand new. It is a 14 grand Cherokee Overland with the 5.7
I have had my Jeep for 3 years. I’ve had some electrical issues but other than she’s been good until now! My engine light came on a few weeks ago, went to local parts to get the code,it was 3rd cylinder misfire. Under warranty so made appointment at the dealer, couldn’t get immediate appointment. It was a few weeks. So on my way to drop off, engine hot alarm! Dealer had it torn apart, waiting on warranty to approve repair. Sounds like it could be a few different things. In a nutshell.
Hi folks.
I'm planning a move that may be breaking my Jeep and I apart. I've never had any issues with it in the 5 years of ownership. I drove over 2,700 miles moving from California to Virginia about 3 years ago. No issues. Recently I've been on several trips between California and Las Vegas no issues.
But now I need to move to Oregon which is about 14 hrs from where I'm at now and I need to tow a trailer from Uhaul about 1,200lbs unloaded with possibly another 1,200-1,800lbs loaded. So 3k total.
I am concerned about grenading either the transmission or engine on the trip which would absolutely ruin me since I won't have time or the financial means to fix it quickly during my trip. Likely ending up with it being abandoned in a tow yard.
Does anyone have any advice to almost guarantee my trip to be successful or things to check on?
I want to possibly get the transmission rebuilt before making the trip to be safe but wouldn't want to pay more than $1,500 for a shop to do it all. Otherwise I'm looking to sell it and buy a newer vehicle which I'd rather not do.
I have a 2017 Jeep grand Cherokee Laredo. I changed my spark plugs & coil packs. Filter and used Seafoam and Lucas’s oil stuff to assist in a rough idle my truck has. My car just started having a rough idle but only when completely stopped. She drives fine. I haven’t taken her to be checked yet but plan too.
Anyone have any experience as to what this may be?
Hello y’all, I have a 2019 HA and I wanted to swap out my oem steering wheel with one out of an SRT vehicle. The airbags on the SRT vehicles seem like they are a bit different shape versus regular ones. Has anyone done this before? Will my oem airbag fit the SRT steering wheel or would I need a different airbag? TIA
2019 WK2 Limited Any modifications; exterior or interior changes? Thought about chrome delete, and two-tone wrap similar to the 2024 GC’s. Along with debadging and front plate removal too. Sidesteps, I have been thinking about getting but want to avoid ones that would rust and non-chrome ones.
Open to hearing feedback from the community on their thoughts and suggestions.
Hi all. I really love my 2023 Grand Cherokee L Overland. It's my first GC, in fact my first Jeep. No regrets so far, and I came from a 2019 Volvo XC90 (which I also loved a lot; but we needed a bigger towing capacity). Thing is, I'm surprised at the lack of "cubbies" and convenient storage spots. The center console is wonderful. But I'm finding that the door pockets are mostly worthless, and I'm just so surprised there aren't more cool doors/bins/cubbies throughout the rest of the car. It's such a luxurious utility vehicle, I'm just a bit shocked at the lack of utilitarian-ness for storage inside. The Volvo had way more, and the door pockets were much more usable.
So two questions: Firstly: Are any of you surprised by this as well? And secondly: has anyone come up with a way to better utilize the door pockets (with a 3rd party addition or something?) Open to suggestions. To be clear, this isn't a show stopper; it wouldn't keep me from buying the car again. Just curious what you folks think. Thanks!
The car is single owner who traded his for a mercedes. the car fax looks clean with 1 recall. Though I see fee flags such as trim and internal trim checked and also tires changed multiple times and replaced once. Should I be worried? Would be a first time owner, so being nervous?
Can navigation in the instrument cluster be added to a 2024 Limited? I'm wondering if something can be flashed to enable it or if there's hardware differences in upper trims that allows this functionality.
I have a 2021 Grand Cherokee L. The right rear headrest responds to the automatic release to lower the headrest but does not respond to the manual latch. The other headrest responds to both, not sure if there's a fix for this if anyone has had this issue before or if it's to the dealership I go
06 overland 48,000 miles. Got it for 5 k. One owner. What’s on the list for maintenance? Only had oil change. Filter. Drove about 1000 miles so far.
Planning on new tires soon, but I might do my brakes. They feel squishy. Maybe brake lines, idk how to do that though.
I installed the new Morimoto gen II headlights on my 15' this weekend. When I push the ignition to run just on the battery, all lights come on and run just fine. However, when I turn the engine over the low beams cut out and flicker a few times and then completely shut off. Any thoughts on what the issue could be or if someone has run into this as well? Turn signal, DRL, and high beams work just fine..
Hey guys, on my way to work I got the low battery voltage warning, and a few minutes later the whole car died on me. I had it towed to my house.
From what I can tell, it’s the alternator, I just put in a battery in the car within the last year. I was hoping to charge the battery with my battery tender and I can’t get it to charge. I tried directly connecting it to the battery and the tender doesn’t show anything. I had it placed on the positive on the engine bay and the tender showed it was charging but the car is still completely dead.
Any suggestions? Not sure how to handle this issue. Was hoping to charge the battery snd figure out how to replace the alternator but now I suspect more issues since it won’t charge.
Where do yall buy parts from? It is damn expensive where I currently live! Need some websites with discounts
Folks, I’m stumped. 2005 WK. I’ve switched out the brake light switch (twice in case the first was a lemon), checked the grounds, fuses, everything. The tail lights and backup lights work just fine. Does anybody have any suggestions on what to look at next or should I bite the bullet and shop it. Thanks in advance!
My exhaust is blowing white smoke that smells like fuel and I was a little low on oil.
I drained the oil to send a smoke to BlackStone labs. I only drained 5.9 quarts. There should have been about 6.2 quarts since I added the BG MOA additive the last time I changed it about 250 miles ago. So, I lost about 15 oz of oil/additive in 250 miles and now the exhaust is blowing white “smoke” that smells like fuel.
I read if it smells like fuel, it has to do with fuel injectors, O2 sensors, various things. If it’s white without smelling like fuel, it’s a head gasket issue.
Does this sound like a fuel injector issue? O2 sensors? Head gasket? No check engine light.
Probably been asked before but I know very little about cars. My car came with the 20s stock, but I’m considering getting a new set of wheels for winter tires. Any suggestions on whether it’s better to have more sidewall for winter and swap to 18’s, or if I should just get another set of aftermarket wheels + tires in the same 20” config?

Do those numbers sound about right?

Wondering if anyone here has suggestions for after market fender flares that have a strong hold to the body. I have a 2014 Limited and both front fender flares have flown off on the highway after hunting. I’m assuming the mud caked up on my tires is somehow is getting under the flares and loosening the clips when coming off and then they catch air and fly off like a kite. Don’t need anything fancy or “cooler” looking than the OEMs, just something with a stronger hold. TIA
Howdy all! Recently purchased a WK2 and I'm planning on changing the spark plugs. Any other things I should do while I'm inside? I searched up and down google/forums & this sub for an answer but I couldn't find a direct one.

Thank you!
I’m just looking to find out if I’ll have any issues with rubbing.
