Hello all! I’m looking into lifting my jeep, I’d love to see anyone on here who’s lifted theirs? Preferably the 2008-2012 body style? What lift did you go with and why?
How much of a pain is it really? I’ve heard from a few guys it really isn’t as bad as they say. I live in the rust belt, so nothing is going to come easy. Curious if anyone has any input here. Thank you!
Another thing, all around, there’s nothing wrong with this car, however I know a few problems are likely looming. Do you guys think it’s worth it to sink the money and time into it, or just ride it til she dies and get a new vehicle? 2012 with 109k. Decent maintenance history, oil changes every 3-5k. Let me know your thoughts.
I think it could be my alternator but not entirely sure. Any help would be appreciated!
Bought it new in 2003. Sold it to my dad ten years ago. Was a ranch rider he put less than 500 miles on. He sold it back to me for a dollar. Full fluid flush, brakes, control arms/ball joints, headlights, and new wheels/tires. Just waiting on the matching spare. Looking forward to riding again!
I found out my 03 KJ has an airbag recall that was never done. This was a 2015 recall. The airbag light has been on since I bought the car a month ago. Anyone do this recall recently? Apparently they change out the module and I hope this would fix the airbag light.
I just noticed the bottom radiator is extremely wet can't tell what is causing it I did drive through heavy rain and flood waters yesterday, but the car has been sitting in the sun all day and is now dry apart from the radiator the top of it seems dry any ideas.
I have a 2005 jeep liberty CRD. The weather is horrible right now with snow and ice. I have to drive 45 miles on a highway to a different town. I’m worried about getting there in just 2 wheel. What’s the fastest I can drive in 4 wheel.
In reference to my last post with a stripped sump plug( my fault) I’ve found the part number , I’m in the UK so unsure if it’s international but here it is incase anyone else struggles to find it :)

might be a long shot but would anyone be willing to trade wheels with me in southern california? i have the super shiny chrome six spokes, i think they’re 17s so they kinda give your car a slight lift. and im looking for the thick 5 spoke “classic” liberty wheels (the 16s). im partial to the dingy 5 spokes that are caked in brake dust, i can’t seem to rock the chrome they’re too eye catching. and before you ask, i’ve checked the picknpull, those are always the first to go 😔. but if you’ve found some please let me know!! thank you!
I’m currently working on my list of cosmetic fixes I’d like to tackle on my Liberty. Included is trying to get the sky slider functional again. I wasn’t able to get clear details on how exactly it failed, just that it doesn’t work but at least the top is closed and water tight.
Any tips on how to sort it out from folks who have done so successfully?
I have a 2012 Jeep Liberty Jet with 150,000 miles. I just recently had much of the undercarriage replaced - muffler, etc. The Jeep runs smoothly and I’ve never needed to have major work done on her, aside from maintenance stuff like brakes and tires.
Recently, the rear end of the Jeep was making some weird noises - first it was a jangling type of noise, then it became more of a dragging noise, like the muffler had dropped (it hadn’t). I took it to my repair shop and my guy told me I needed to replace the rear part of the axel. He’s searching for a used piece that he can install so I don’t have much more information than this.
I’m not super knowledgeable about cars so can you all give me some insight into whether it’s worth the money to replace this? I really want to keep this car! I love her and don’t want a new car (or the payment 😂). And I just put about $2k into work on the car and I don’t want to waste it. But if I’m throwing good money after bad, maybe it’s not worth it?
I figured my fellow Jeep Liberty lovers would give it to me straight! Thanks in advance for your help!
Recently got a new battery and a new wiring harness for the light bar and spotties on my 07 KJ, ended up needing to install a new switch next to the dash for them both since our old switch was a bit dodgy as well. All finally working, but since sorting that out the central locking and the aftermarket radio/stereo aren't working.
The central locking won't work from the key fob or from the lock buttons inside the car, so we can't open the boot since the key fob button is the only way to pop the boot window open for access to the door, and the key itself won't unlock the drivers side door, and only sometimes unlocks the passenger door.. Which is a pain in the ass for obvious reasons.
Fuses are all good, and not sure what to do to troubleshoot this short of popping the dash off (which is brittle from the hot sunshine on it for years and I am afraid might crack trying to get it off)
This jeep has the weirdest cracky wiring, previous owner clearly did a lot of it themselves, so a bit lost where to look.. Anyone have any ideas?
Hello all,
I would like to install a roof rack on this vehicle, but it only has the plastic rails on it. So I need to install side rails or a complete rack that has side rails and rack integrated. How to proceed with this?
Thanks!
I’ve seen other Libertys out there with totally new LED headlights and parking lights with new clear plastic covers. Mine are getting yellowed, cracked and foggy and polishing kits don’t seem to make much of an improvement. Looking for some suppliers that make these. I also don’t want to blind other drivers but I would like a little more brightness on low and hi beams. Suggestions, friends?
Hello all, long story short, I’m looking for a shop in Michigan that is fair on price, but also skilled and reliable. I need head gaskets on a 2009 jeep liberty with the 3.7. Don’t wanna go to a dealer. I know a lot of euro places but I have no connections in the domestic world.
What better place to ask than Reddit.
Fire away.
Hello everyone, need some help tracking down fender flares for my Liberty. We just had a mild disagreement with a guard rail and now I’m missing the door flare on the rear passenger door and the front one is hanging in there but I think it needs me clips. Anyone got a part number for the passenger rear door flare? The clips I’m getting no problem there. As always any point in the right direction is appreciated!
Is there a brand or truck to getting the rear wiper blade to stay on the arm? I bought a 2006 last year and when the rainy season came the blade fell off immediately. I bought a replacement and it looks like it’s just a friction fit and now the new one keeps trying to fall off.
I’m about to start looking for other brands that have an actual connector slot.
I have a 2005 Liberty 3.7 V6, I want to replace the coolant. Is this the product you all have used?
i Was changing my tires and noticed this part is completely snapped ? if it is the lower control arm does anyone know an easier way to fix it than lowering the gas tank like i’m seeing online thank you!
alright guys I got a p0305 code today after I was doing a coolant flush and my car started overheating. I see a lot of people saying to replace the spark plug, swap the ignition coil with a different one and also swap the injector to see if the code changes? Any advice? I know a lot of people have done this and I just wanted to see what worked and what didn’t for people. Thanks in advance! (I’ve had the car for less than a week 🥺)
But in all seriousness, why so many lights for an ABS sensor 🤣 The CEL has lived in my dash since the fuel pump went out around 175k miles Tire light is also a bad sensor Oil light is also a sensor (atleast I’m pretty sure, it not blown up yet so 🤷🏻♀️)
