She's a little dirty. Other than that she still looks good
Are these cars just gas guzzlers? I got it this year
Been driving for about 4 hours through 85F degree hot weather in my jeep liberty sport from 2006. The last hour in my transmission temp light came on after driving through some hills. It went off after about 15 min driving slower on a straight road due to traffic. AC hasn't been working 100% for a while, but on this trip I wanna say that it completely gave out,so I switched it off and opened the windows. Noticed some plastic smell. When I got home I checked and the plastic cover of the nut on top of the alternator was completely burned away. Now I'm wondering if this all could be connected? I'm reaching 100k miles, so I assume a transmission fluid change is a given. I'm the third owner, but I assume it was never done. Aircon might just be gas missing or leak? Alternators do get hot, so is that just because of the extra hot weather? I was a little low on coolant, which I refilled when back as well. Not sure if the same coolant also feeds the alternator in such old cars. Any tips appreciated. Love my liberty
Got some really dirty cloth seats in my new liberty and would like to upgrade them. Leather seats are super hard to get by where I’m at so was wondering if anyone retrofitted some other seats? E.g from a Grand Cherokee, Wrangler or even a completely different car?
Hi! I have looked everywhere and can’t find an engine number for my 2009 Jeep Liberty. Has anyone been able to locate it on theirs? Thanks in advance!
Powered seats in my 2012 Jeep Liberty Arctic Edition stopped working. Was wondering if there was a way to manually override and adjust the seat? Thanks!
I am in the market for a Liberty and ha e noticed that quite a few do not have a backup camera, depending on age and the edition of course.
If I were to purchase one without a backup cam, are the hard to install after market? IS it something I would have to bring to a mechanic? Or is a d.i.y. type thing.
Being a "girl" at the young age of 59, how hard would it be for me? If no go, my husband does know his way around cars, but not more than installing stereo, speakers, oil changes, etc. Def not an engine mechanic.
Also, this is a weird question yet I noticed it on most liberties that are for sale. Most between 2009-2012 all seem to be at 100-125,000 miles. Os there anything I should be aware of at that mileage regarding breakdown of something being very common?
I own a 2003 Liberty and NEED to get a newer one soon. Mine runs perfect @ 227,000 miles and has been well taken care of. People cannot believe it's 22 years old. And I love her. Not getting rid of her until she let's me know it's time, and that she's tired. She owes me nothing. Thanks for your suggestions, advice and answers. If you have any I put at all, by all means, I'm open to it all!!

2008 Liberty, just pick up, had just an sirbag light on and previous owner disconnected the horn because it was going off. My wife has been driving it around and last night, she hit the highbeam on the multi function switch snd now the abs, esb, and one other light came on. Is it possible this is all do to a bad clock spring? I see there are angle detectors that could affect esb and abs. The truck has a sunroof that had leaked in the past, could water have damaged the clock spring and or other components that may cause these symptoms? Runs great, bunch of lights though
What's up everyone, I wanted to ask if there is a way to add more horses to a 2006 jeep liberty 3.7l also I am trying to lift it and put tire spacers to give it a more off road look. Any recommendations?
My instrument cluster gauges dont work/read wrong any help.
I have to stop and restart it for it to stop but than sometimes no matter what it'll continue to do it anyway.. I have a 2003 jeep liberty and wasn't sure if anyone else had this issue. Thanks
Hi, I have a 2005 liberty sport 3.7L V6 and noticed that on the passenger side while accelerating, near the dashboard a bubbling sound is coming out. I assume it’s the coolant reservoir, but I’m not entirely sure. It’s not shooting out a bunch of smoke out the exhaust, it doesn’t smell like coolant under the hood either, oil doesn't seem milky as well. I noticed that the coolant does not actually bubble like a boil. It looks to shoot towards the top of the reservoir. It will rapidly fill and empty partially when revving the engine. The coolant reservoir is full and I haven’t noticed any leakage. I had put in some coolant system sealer about a month ago and the problem seemed to resolve but it came back. It only seems to do it when the engine is warming and when accelerating from a full stop.
Any idea what this is? I’m thinking battery, hydraulic issue? This is when I push key fob. The hatch won’t open but doors do.
My KK is giving me these codes p0300 p0301 p0302 all misfiring. All of the sparks wires/coils and plugs were changed last October 2023. Any thoughts? Thank you in advance.
Just got this vehicle not that long ago and it has been such a reliable vehicle I could not be happier with my finding and purchase
My dash and radio randomly shuts off and then turns back on and fuel gauge reads differntly each time. Also when the dash powers down the fuel light comes on.
Trying to help a friend decide on their 2008 Liberty.
The rear axle started to smoke, and bearings are gone.
We're looking at either doing a replacement set of bearings, or swapping out with a used rear axle.
Costs quoted by mechanics in the area are basically the same for either.
There's a gamble on either, but I'm curious - since I'm not an expert on these - what the failure rate is and which folks lean to in this situation.
Searching has shown some higher rate of rear axle failures, but it seems to mostly be bearings. I'm inclined to replace the axle since it started to smoke, and other damage could be in there.
But I'm curious to hear thoughts on this from people with more experience on this car. Thanks!
