Superman Snoos by u/ZacPensol & u/HylianLibrarian

So recently I watched man of steel for the first time ever and even though I heard a lot of bad about that movie I still decided to give it a shot and oh boy I remained pretty surprised.
Now there's a lot to talk about but I'll make it short, I loved the idea of an Inexperienced superman and I think that Henry Cavill did a great job, maybe I would have liked to be more heroic cause what he does for the majority is fighting against general zodd and his crew but that's fine I guess
The only things I didn't like is basically the first half, a bit too slow and confusing with all the random flashbacks wich is hard to get used to but the moment he gets the suit it gets better.
In conclusion it's not a bad movie at all and I'm kinda sad that they didn't give Henry Cavill a second chance in terms of sequel instead of batman v superman. So don't let the audience and critics influence your opinions cause at the end of the day you might like it
I finally got around to reading the Superman: Lex Luthor Special which focuses on a changed Lex Luthor after the events of Absolute Power whose intellect is needed by the Justice League but, as even Lex himself mentions, the “old” Lex Luthor may not really be what the world needs.
This reminds me of how Marvel was recently handling the “reformed” Norman Osborn and even trying to make him a hero. I don’t know if they’ll go that route with Lex (I hope not), but based on the ending, Superman may definitely need to be cautious.
For those of you who have read this special, what did you think?
So we all know that Clark will take his pie to go, however I vividly recall a panel or scene where he specifically has his pie with a slice of cheese on it.
Can you all help me prove whether or not cheese on apple pie is American enough for Superman?
I forget exactly what story it is from, but I'm pretty sure it was from the last five years. Basically Supes and a group of allies are heading to their next destination after a fight (maybe on Warworld?) and Superman brings and carries the unconscious villain he just fought with them and when asked why he'd save his enemy he says something along the lines of "If we leave him here and he dies then this is all that he'll ever be".
Any help would be appreciated.
Hi. A couple I have done some work for lost everything in the fire, including a pretty large Superman collection. I didn't see what he had, just hat he had a lot.
I want to send him a small gift, just sort of as a sympathy-card-type acknowledgement of the loss of so many things so special to him. I can't afford anything expensive. What does anyone recommend for maybe $50 max or so?
I was thinking maybe a replica copy of Action Comics #1? Some other iconic reprint? I don't even know what era he is into, actually? (He's around 67, so maybe the late-1960s comics, just a guess.)
Any suggestions are appreciated, thank you!
Just looking for suggestion for Superman stories where he goes up against villains like Lobo, Mongol, Maxima etc
Clark accidentally inspiring his greatest rival and being painted as anti-superman at the conference would be so much cooler than Jimmy.
I'm a semi new Supes fan, only getting really into his stuff about 5 years ago, I've never seen these 3 shows, I've seen clips, really liked what I've seen, and I'm curious as to which y'all think is the best, and which should I see first?
To get ready for the upcoming movie I'm trying to put together a curriculum to get me started on the Superman mythology (I'm a Batman guy). I'm basically a complete newb, I've only seen Superman Returns, Man of Steel, Batman v Superman, and some Smallville/Adventures of Lois and Clark. Haven't seen the original movies nor have I read any comics.
I know there are resources on this sub's sidebar but tbh it's a little intimidating because there's so much to sift through from the past 90 years. I want to have a little fun with this and read/watch/learn things in a particular order but I don't know what that should be. I know I want to watch the OG movies plus a handful of graphic novels (Superman for All Seasons, All-Star Superman, Red Son), but can anybody suggest a particular order or throw out some more recs to help get me started???
I picked it up during the mid-to-late 2010s. I'm a very casual fan of comics, and I'm mostly a Marvel girl. I haven't really collected much from DC aside from the B Man, but I LOVED this comic and it really made me smile. I grew up in the 2000s with shows like Justice League, and growing up that was my Superman. Then there was that edgy Man of Steel movie and while the actor for Supes is great, I thought that the DCEU was meh (except Shazam). But reading this harkened to the DCAU Superman and what he represented. It was great honestly, and with the new Superman coming this year, I collect more trade paperbacks of Superman comics!
This question is more like "can kryptonite cut through Superman like butter?" question, rather than "who would win" question, so thats why we assume Superman wouldnt fight back of course - it would be an experiment.
I live in the UK, one of the key countries that's potentially not gonna get Superman (2025) in theatres in July due to the recent lawsuit. Is there anyone in the know about these sort of things that can give an educated guess as to whether or not there's a chance of the case being settled before the movie's release?
