As-promised, we are doing a bit of a catch-up on our discussions, since I was on vacation! Couple more to go, so think of it like bonus questions! Haha.

This sub is very diverse. We come from all walks of life, drawn together by a great story. How long have you been a fan of Gurren Lagann? At what point in your life did you discover it? Were you a kid? Teen? Adult? How long ago?

Here I present Young Lordgenome as depicted in the manga for Gurren Lagann. Honestly thought that he was using only pants for space when I firstsaw him in the maga, but it seems he was using a full body suit for space as we can see in various shots of him in Parallel works 8.

[PLEASE DONT SPOIL TOO MUCH I WANNA WATCH IT ;(]I got like 400+ animes on my Watch list watched like 150 of them but those are the ones with 1 to 2 seasons of 12. I haven't watched the bigger ones but I wanna start on This anime. Also am be real it was not on my Watch list because of the size of them (I watched some videos on how huge they are compaction vids so I was like am good) but I wanna know stuff about the anime but don't spoil too much

MASTERPIECE ,I am gonna watch now the movies ,idk for some reason after ending the anime i didn't had any sad feeling that it ended or something .btw does it have many ,and if so does it end the same way?

I noticed in the 2nd movie where the STTGL gets destroyed layer by layer and saw how Lagann pulled Simon and threw him at anti spiral and seeing his reaction it implies he didn't control him at that time. Was that lagann being sentient or was that kamina giving Simon one last push? Or was that something else?

So Yoko was talking about Kamina here, right? I can’t find the answer anywhere and I need people to agree with my head canon.

I just finished the series and I feel incomplete now. What a fucking journey. People always say it gets better the further you go into the series, and they didn’t lie. I absolutely love everything, I love the characters, the soundtrack, the plot, the writing, the hype, the silliness, and I love the message. I cried when Kamina died in episode 8, and from episode 20 onward, I just kept crying bruh 😭 Watching their struggles grow worse and worse, yet seeing Simon and the others push through no matter what, just brought me to tears every time.

I also feel so bad for Yoko cus literally both the dudes she could’ve had a thing with died 💀 Before they died, they shared a kiss with her. When Kittan kissed her I already started crying cus I got Kamina flashbacks and I knew bro was cooked. I liked the fact that I grew to love the characters that I hated in the first part of the show. Just goes to show how good the character development and writing is. There were super silly parts of the show where I couldn’t help but laugh at it.. Like where the big ass ship does a 360 and fucking kicks another ship. Or seeing a mecha pilot a mecha inside another mecha. It’s so over the top and funny but thats what makes it so charming and endearing.

I actually love this shit so much and it gives me so much hope for life. SO PEAK 11/10

I want to start the show and wanted to know does it have to much fan service

Im not talking about naked girl im talking about story wise like main character is lonely at first but becomes so annoyingly popular or to much friendship power something like fire force

Bear with me if I sound a bit scathing.

Okay, so I got into the show by the recommendation of my best friend, I’ve hit a bit of a snag. I get that Kamina’s death is thematically relevant but he was literally the one character I liked fully. Simon annoys me at best (really the whole character archetype he’s based off of does, it’s not just him,) Yoko’s alright, and most of the rest of the cast don’t hook me.

Should I just cut bait and watch another show, or should I stick it out to some endpoint he won’t tell me?

Hey all! It's been a few weeks since our last discussion, because I was on vacation and ended up not having enough service to download and upload larger stuff. So! To make up for it, I'll be doing 2 discussions per week for the next 3 weeks, including this week. On late Wednesday, I'll release another discussion. :)

So! A curious question for you all. Was someone ever able to change your mind about something, when it comes to Gurren? Maybe it was a concept/headcanon that you believed, and then someone changed that. Or at feeling. Anger to acceptance, like to dislike, hate to enjoy. Could include feelings about a moment or character. Anything that you may have felt or believed, before someone changed your mind!

If you remember who it was, mention them, if you want! I think it is so valuable and connects us as a community, when we change our minds. Its one of the most powerful things! Minds are very hard to change.

So, has there been anyone that has changed your mind about something related to Gurren? What was the the change? How did you feel before you changed your view? Did this effect anything else?
