Im curious as the show never says anyones age, though I feel it dors imply simon is younger than Yoko. (I'm less shocked by her assumed age than people saying she's the same age as Simon, which doesn't make sense to me as she clearly is the cool older female friend type character to Simon.)

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann - Otoko Ippiki-hen, to be exact. Does it have an english translation? I tried finding it here, but it was so old that now website with it is dead. Also found every chapter in japanese, but not a single page in english. Is english translation of this manga even exist? If it does, can someone provide a url?

I know they exist but is there anywhere I can read them and are they translated?

I just finished gurren laggan for the second or third time now, and everytime I finish it I'm left with this deep sense of satisfaction but also sadness that such a good show ended. As much as I would love a second series depicting the events of meeting with the other spiral races I know that it would just ruin the show just like how ( in my opinion) boruto is in a sense " ruining " Naruto. But shows like gurren laggan, cyberpunk edgerunners, akame ga kill, they're ruining anime for me because now I'm getting pickier and pickier trying to find animes that give me that same sense of satisfaction at the end. All in all this show will always hold a place in my heart and keep me pushing forward with it's great message of never being stagnate and always strive for something greater.

It seems they have been out of stock for a while, and idk if they ever do reprints or whatnot.

I haven't watched TTGL in a long time but randomly was thinking about it. I remembered Genome was pretty intense pre-timeskip and when he was reduced to a simple head he behaved more logically and seemed emotionless. Later when he got his body back he showed more signs of intensity, namely when he sacrifices himself for the crew. Did he ever change his personality after he was originally defeated and became a head?

Hello everyone. First time posting here. A couplw of days ago i started watching Gurren Lagann. And what can i say. Its amazing.

Characters are awesome. Every single one of them (also it was also pleasurable that Viral and Lordgenome became good, i was rooting for them since their first appearances). Kamina's death was very shocking though. While watching episode 9 i had Simon's face. Total shock. And yet Simon has overcome it. Truly awesome character.

Kittan. At first half he didnt mean anything to me. But at the second half of the show i became so proud of him. What a guy. And what a death he had. Also, all of the deaths from the final fight were so shocking to me. Like, before fighting Anti-Spiral only Kamina has died. And them boom, 6 deaths or more in one episode.

Nia. Dont know why, but i got so attached to her. Maybe because she brought life into Simon once more. But she's just so brave. And silly 😆. Love her.

All in all it was truly an amazing experience watching this series.

But ending (idk if its talked often in this subreddit but i just want to share my opinion). I like it. Its cinematic. Its perfect. Its beautiful. It has a very good point and morale. But its just so heart-breaking. I dont say thats its bad. Its awesome. But so sad. From Nia's introduction i thought that she'll have a happy-ending and a long life with Simon. And thats how the tables turned out. Its sad. But its good that its sad. It wouldnt brought so much emotions if it was a usual happy ending. It also makes me applaude for the Simon. After everything that he had to face, after seeing love of his life dissapear, he still stands strong. Idk what has happened to him in those 20 years, but becoming a digger once more is kinda symbolical. He fulfilled his destiny. He saved humanity. And maybe he havnt acquired his happiness. He still lives. What a man. On his place i would've probably made a suicide. But he is just built different. And yet i hope that when his life comes to an end, he'll spend eternity in peace and love with Nia in heavens. They deserve happiness.
