We've been over, ad nauseam, what this team is lacking, but at the very least when tuning into a Flyers game, I can expect a team that's going to compete, play hard, and not give up. I can't really remember the last time we've been seriously blown out either. Meanwhile, you got teams like Buffalo, who looked like they gave up before that game even started, and the Reality Show Rangers who look like they're "playing" to get everyone in creation fired (I'm thoroughly enjoying watching that shitshow of a trainwreck).

What does everyone think? Did Andrae get too full of himself? Did he piss Torts off somehow? Really hope we see him back in soon . . .

Edit: Just think its odd since Torts has seemed to indicate that this isn’t injury related at all.

Newish Flyer fan…just looking at former captains and wondering why Smith was named captain with such a short stint?

Listen, listen, listen….i know when it comes to Giroux it can be a iffy topic and people shoot it down immediately, but I’m just thinking about where the team is at and for the future. This could likely be Giroux’s last contract. I don’t think that he would cost a impactful amount if it meant coming back here to retire. He’s been a PPG player since being dealt. I feel like he could be a great depth C/W and special teams player. G doesn’t strike me as the guy to come back into our locker room and demand the “captaincy” figuratively. I think him coming back would even better for him taking the back seat role in the room and letting our leadership core (TK, Sanheim, Laughts, etc.) as is. I feel like he can age into a solid 3rd line role vet for us. Plus, I feel like he could do a lot for Mich when it comes to the power play and growing him into an elite power play guy. I don’t think G ever wanted to leave and it would be cool to see him retire as a Flyers in his last couple years.

This is just fun speculation. Not here to yell and tell someone your opinion sucks, but I just wanted to see what others think of this?

Canucks GM Jim Rutherford last night said "We need to add a couple of players to really give ourselves a chance to contend," suggesting some sort of move/shakeup could be coming.

Today on 32 Thoughts, Friedman suggested a Pettersson for Cozens+Byram trade. He stipulated that it was purely in his head, i.e not a rumor.

Then later in the day on the radio, Friedman followed up by saying "I was just spit balling but the two teams have talked, I can see VAN interest in those players and I can see Buffalo interested in Pettersson."

To me, Friedman's suggested trade is completely ridiculous and makes no sense. I have no idea why Vancouver would make that trade. They just signed Pettersson to a new deal this year. They take all the risk. But it is curious that Friedman would even dare speculate on Pettersson's availability.

All this to say, if there is even a slight chance that Pettersson is available, Briere needs to be in on it. The Flyers have made it very clear that they think they can supplement tanking by acquiring a 1C/1D when they become available. If now is a rare time where one might be available, it's too valuable of an opportunity to let slip away. I'd hate to see Buffalo sneak in and steal the exact player we need.

Again, all just speculation. But fun speculation.

Was taken at closed autograph session before previous season, guy also sell full ska autographs set by piece, I took most promising one

Couldn't think of a more clever title, so just used the roster freeze coming up kn December 20th for this week's edition.

Flyers have had a pretty solid week for the most part. They picked up a pair of wins against the Blue Jackets and Red Wings (with Scott Laughton having the first 4 goal game of the NHL season in the latter) followed by a loss against the Wild. Matvei briefly sat back at a PPG pace, Drysdale has returned and looked great, Andrae has briefly came out of the lineup, and Tippett starting to roll name a few headlines around the team right now.

If you could make one semi-realistic move before the roster freeze for this team, what would you do?

Might be a big ask but does anybody know how many draft picks the Flyers have playing in the tournament?

I couldn't find a picture but he literally took a goal away from Konecny. Potentially the most frustrated I've been with him yet.
