Guidelines

  • 1. Posts should directly relate to the Walt Disney World Resort, located in Orlando, FL. Remember, just because it's Disney doesn't mean it's about WDW. This includes merchandise and things you made.
  • 2. Read the FAQ and use the search bar before posting a question. Basic trip planning questions should be posted in the Weekly Thread.
  • 3. Follow reddiquette and keep it clean. Treat others with basic decency. No trolling - this isn't Maelstrom! Personal attacks, threats of violence, shill accusations, hate-speech, flaming, baiting, witch-hunting, or unsubstantiated accusations will result in a permanent ban.
  • 4. Posts should follow reddit's rules on self-promotion and should refrain from being "blogspam." If you are attempting to post, you must have history in the subreddit or else it is subjected for removal. You will be banned on your second violation.
  • 5. No Reposts. One post per discussion topic. Due to recent abuse, you may only post once per day (Exceptions can be made and are up to mod approval). Park photos/Trip Reports must be condensed into one album.
  • 6. NSFW content is not permitted so "NSFW" on this subreddit is used as a shorthand for "Not Safe for Magic." Any post which can "ruin the magic" (such as any behind-the-scenes pictures or videos) should be marked "NSFW" as a courtesy gesture to users who may not want to have the magic spoiled for them.
  • 7. No B/T/S (Buy/Trade/Sell) posts are allowed. For B/T/S posts, please visit /r/DisneyMarketplace.
  • 8. Posts about rule-breaking at the parks are frowned upon. This includes asking Cast Members and others for help getting into the parks or trying to get access/reservations to Club 33. This sort of behavior will be considered harassment and can result in a ban, as per Rule #3.
  • 9.If you are going to submit an IAMA, please message the mods first.

  • Do not pull down on the safety bar, please; I will lower it for you. And heed this warning: the spirits will materialize only if you remain quietly seated at all times. Please keep your hands, arms, and feet inside at all times. And watch your children, Please.

Transportation for a group of seven

What’s the word these days yall? Everyone keeps mentioning Mears Connect or Sunshine Flyer; which are both definitely options but I was wondering what consensus on more private transportation options. There so many companies out there and everytime I find a potential option I find a subreddit filled with horror stories “My driver never showed up” “I wa left stranded” etc

What is best to do at DW & DK?

I am a military widow, and roughly every two years my daughters and I are invited to DW by a charity organization. It is likely that this year will be the last time we will be eligible to go. We've been twice before. I'd hate it if we miss an opportunity to see something cool and never be able to catch it.

What should we prioritize? Typically we go to Epcot and Discovery Kingdom

Job interview at 11:00am-Magic Kingdom

I have an interview that I really do not want to reschedule. I told the screener I was on PTO next week and thought they scheduled my interview for this Wednesday and I hit accept. Turns out it’s next Wednesday, my boss recommended I not ask them to reschedule. Family is rope dropping Magic Kingdom. Any ideas where I can go that is private or quiet? I was thinking maybe going to contemporary quick for the interview and then heading back. I told them I am on PTO but they have lots of schedule conflicts. TYIA

I fear for Tianna’s Bayou

That is *a lot* of theming that’s going to exposed to high winds. Fingers crossed it holds up. Would be a shame if it spends the next year in various states of disrepair.

Let’s Go Reindeer Wee…

So, my 4 year old really loves the Swirling Alien Saucers ride. He plays with the toys and pretends it is the ride. Before he starts “the ride”, he says something that sounds like “Let’s Go Reindeer Wee”. I’m 99% sure it’s something that actually happens in the ride - as he is saying a lot of other Alien phrases from it. My wife and I have been trying to figure out what he’s actually saying for days. Any ideas? We’ve been watching YouTube videos of the ride to see if we can catch something…It’s driving us crazy. Thank you in advance!

Disaster relief charities for CM?

Can you suggest any reputable charities which offer disaster relief and aid to WDW cast members? I see a lot of people at WDW right now counting on them being available which also means they’re unable to storm prep or be available for their own families.

Skyliner during a hurricane?

I was in Disney last month when Helene came through. The night before it made landfall, I was surprised to find the skyliner still open (about 50 mph gusts in Orlando at the time). The gondolas were ROCKING. I enjoyed it, others not so much.

Obviously Helene missed Orlando by a much larger distance than Milton will. I know the skyliner will be closed, but do they store all the gondolas at the maintenance station? Seems crazy that in a huge storm they would all just hang there and put that weight on the cable. Just curious if anyone has any insight on this

Halloween Mickey

Really wish I could have snagged one of these wreaths for the normal $80. Seem to be sold out. They’re on eBay for $130!

Either way, enjoy my photo!

Shopping pre-stay & stroller share

Hey all,

Apologies for the quick and to the point post...

I'm from Australia and came to WDW back in 2017, ended up staying at the Wilderness Lodge and before arrival we organised to have some shopping done through a delivery service and left with guest services the day of our arrival. (I think Garden Grocer was the businesses name).

And we also took part in a Facebook group that unfortunately no longer exists, that shared strollers from one family to the next for free and saved us coin on stroller rental. We just handed it over to the next family on the list when we left.

My questions are

A. Does WDW still allow pre arrival deliveries of groceries to the resorts on the days you arrive? (our family has dietary & health needs)

B. Is there still any stroller share groups around that do the stroller swaps? If so can someone pop me a link to a pm please?

Thanks!

Red "Door" in Polynesian Lobby

I was just watching one of the live streamers on YouTube. She was at the Polynesian, somewhere just off the main lobby, I think. There was a red "door." For lack of a better word, it was a projection of a door. Is there something special about this door?

Walt Disney World Shipping Souvenirs

Hey everyone! My wife and I stayed on property for half our stay and stayed off property for the second half. We got a lot of souvenirs and want to do the Disney shipping. We have saved all the receipts over our stay and were wondering what is the best place to go to have Disney ship everything?

Planned to Arrive Next Monday (the 14th)

We've had this trip planned for several months to drive from Houston to Orlando for a Mon-Fri stay at DW. We would be arriving Monday late morning/early afternoon. We are staying at one of the resorts.

For the folks here that are local and know the area well, how much should we be worried about the flooding, etc., in the area about 4 days following Milton? I know it's hard to know exactly how it will be but just trying to get an estimate on how worried we should be. Not worried about the park being open, per se, but moreso getting in and out of the park.

I appreciate any responses and I hope everyone in the area stays safe!

Are the Halloween party character meet and greets closed today?

I’m checking the app for wait times out of curiosity since I want to know what to expect when I go in two weeks, and the only characters that show up are the Circus Stars. Are all the other characters not available today, or is the app just glitching?

Props to Guest Services

Just arrived for a conference at Coronado this week that was cancelled while I was on the plane. I changed my return flight to tomorrow and they comped me a ticket to Halloween party tonight to enjoy at least a night of the parks 🙏

Anywhere to trick-or-treat on Halloween outside of the Park event?

We’ll be arriving at WDW on 10/31 and was wondering if there is anywhere to trick or treat outside of Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween event? Do any of the stores at Disney Springs do anything?
