Guidelines

  • 1. Posts should directly relate to the Walt Disney World Resort, located in Orlando, FL. Remember, just because it's Disney doesn't mean it's about WDW. This includes merchandise and things you made.
  • 2. Read the FAQ and use the search bar before posting a question. Basic trip planning questions should be posted in the Weekly Thread.
  • 3. Follow reddiquette and keep it clean. Treat others with basic decency. No trolling - this isn't Maelstrom! Personal attacks, threats of violence, shill accusations, hate-speech, flaming, baiting, witch-hunting, or unsubstantiated accusations will result in a permanent ban.
  • 4. Posts should follow reddit's rules on self-promotion and should refrain from being "blogspam." If you are attempting to post, you must have history in the subreddit or else it is subjected for removal. You will be banned on your second violation.
  • 5. No Reposts. One post per discussion topic. Due to recent abuse, you may only post once per day (Exceptions can be made and are up to mod approval). Park photos/Trip Reports must be condensed into one album.
  • 6. NSFW content is not permitted so "NSFW" on this subreddit is used as a shorthand for "Not Safe for Magic." Any post which can "ruin the magic" (such as any behind-the-scenes pictures or videos) should be marked "NSFW" as a courtesy gesture to users who may not want to have the magic spoiled for them.
  • 7. No B/T/S (Buy/Trade/Sell) posts are allowed. For B/T/S posts, please visit /r/DisneyMarketplace.
  • 8. Posts about rule-breaking at the parks are frowned upon. This includes asking Cast Members and others for help getting into the parks or trying to get access/reservations to Club 33. This sort of behavior will be considered harassment and can result in a ban, as per Rule #3.
  • 9.If you are going to submit an IAMA, please message the mods first.

  • Do not pull down on the safety bar, please; I will lower it for you. And heed this warning: the spirits will materialize only if you remain quietly seated at all times. Please keep your hands, arms, and feet inside at all times. And watch your children, Please.

Wild Africa Trek

Has anyone done this tour before? If so, is it worth the price of admission? I will be traveling with my family (wife, kids 16 and 14) and friends with kids of 14 and 12 yo and wondered if this would be a good activity for the crew.

Where's the parrot outside of Pirates of Caribbean??

I didn't see the talking parrot outside of the entrance the last two trips I've taken. Did they do away with him completely?? And why?? He was such a nostalgic memory for me.

Half Day Recommendation

On Sunday, I have from 11am-6pm open around a work trip to head to the parks.

I'm planning on heading to Hollywood Studios right at 11am alongside Genie+, but am debating if I'd be too rushed if I try and squeeze in a quick Epcot stop as well. Granted its only 6-7 hours of park time, I wonder if its worth the $70 premium for a hopper ticket.

Can anyone who is there now confirm if Epcot boats are running from Morocco or Germany?

We leave soon and I’m just planning… I understood they were running from Germany a few weeks ago and am wondering if anyone can confirm which dock is in use at the moment. Thanks!

anyone ever use a wrist phone mount in WDW?

As the subject indicates, I am thinking about getting a wrist mount for my larger and heavy (with battery case) phone for park days. I am a little worried about having only one hand free for typing. I welcome uninformed opinions but would love to learn from someone else's experience.

How is Disney world past 6 pm?

I’ll be staying in Orlando for a work trip and I really want to go to Disney World after work hours. I’m planning on buying a 3-day park pass (even though I won’t be there the whole day). How is it past 6 pm? Are the lines generally longer or shorter?

Update: I was able to convert my tickets to After Hours tickets after calling Disney guest relations, so I have more time to go on rides and enjoy the park 🥰

Wild Africa Trek

We are thinking about doing the awild Africa Trek on an upcoming trip.. but most of the people that travel with me are super picky eaters.. how much flexibility is there in the menu? I know the food is really a small part of the experience.. but I was just wondering if the chicken nugget crowd will have any options?

Halloween events?

Is magic kingdom typically the only park that does something on Halloween day/night?

I'm looking to travel around that time so if there's something special going on during Halloween I'd like to book accordingly!

Souvenir sippers and buckets

Any nice looking sippers or pop corn buckets available at disneyworld? I wish the app would have pictures. We’ll be there next week and I really want to buy one of each (a sipper and a bucket). The only Ive seen a picture of is the toys story aliens one and its so cute.

New DHS expansion idea I have!

I have figured it out! How about an expansion of Disney’s Hollywood Studios into the area between World Drive and Buena Vista Drive, which is west of the main park? A patch of land in that area is listed as "suitable" in the CFTOD plans.
