Guidelines

  • 1. Posts should directly relate to the Walt Disney World Resort, located in Orlando, FL. Remember, just because it's Disney doesn't mean it's about WDW. This includes merchandise and things you made.
  • 2. Read the FAQ and use the search bar before posting a question. Basic trip planning questions should be posted in the Weekly Thread.
  • 3. Follow reddiquette and keep it clean. Treat others with basic decency. No trolling - this isn't Maelstrom! Personal attacks, threats of violence, shill accusations, hate-speech, flaming, baiting, witch-hunting, or unsubstantiated accusations will result in a permanent ban.
  • 4. Posts should follow reddit's rules on self-promotion and should refrain from being "blogspam." If you are attempting to post, you must have history in the subreddit or else it is subjected for removal. You will be banned on your second violation.
  • 5. No Reposts. One post per discussion topic. Due to recent abuse, you may only post once per day (Exceptions can be made and are up to mod approval). Park photos/Trip Reports must be condensed into one album.
  • 6. NSFW content is not permitted so "NSFW" on this subreddit is used as a shorthand for "Not Safe for Magic." Any post which can "ruin the magic" (such as any behind-the-scenes pictures or videos) should be marked "NSFW" as a courtesy gesture to users who may not want to have the magic spoiled for them.
  • 7. No B/T/S (Buy/Trade/Sell) posts are allowed. For B/T/S posts, please visit /r/DisneyMarketplace.
  • 8. Posts about rule-breaking at the parks are frowned upon. This includes asking Cast Members and others for help getting into the parks or trying to get access/reservations to Club 33. This sort of behavior will be considered harassment and can result in a ban, as per Rule #3.
  • 9.If you are going to submit an IAMA, please message the mods first.

  • Do not pull down on the safety bar, please; I will lower it for you. And heed this warning: the spirits will materialize only if you remain quietly seated at all times. Please keep your hands, arms, and feet inside at all times. And watch your children, Please.

I think I've messed up

So I just had the infinity gauntlet shipped to the UK since I can't get it home but Disney didn't say anything about import tax. Do disney pay for the import tax or are you left on your own. If not I personally think that's a little bit of a rip off.

Grim grinning ghosts come out to socialize.

Just felt like saying that Grim Grinning Ghosts is on a loop at the front door as I hand out candy. This year I’m a pirate from the Pirates of the Caribbean. Last time I was Indiana Jones.

Who voices Rocket in cosmic rewind?

Ride if and I noticed it wasn’t Bradley cooper, and I can’t find who did it on Google; to me it kinda sounds like the epic voice dude from honest trailers and I can see him do it since he’s actually really good at impersonating some marvel heros. Just wondering if anyone knew.

I was roaming around underneath Pirates Of The Caribbean, and I stumbled across Walt's cryogenic vault! Just kidding. Happy Halloween, everyone! 🎃

Deluxe extra hours

We are staying at Disney 12/30-1/5 - we are staying Deluxe because the night extra magic hours have always been important to us. This lightning lane is new since our last visit but I am wondering if I am going to need lightning lane if we have those extra hours at the parks? Anyone have experience with the extra magic hours??

Recommended activities for someone who doesn't enjoy roller coasters that much? (Magic Kingdom)

Hello, everyone! My wife and I are traveling to Orlando with some friends, and one of the days we’ll be going to Disney (Magic Kingdom).

She usually doesn’t go on roller coasters or similar rides because she finds them scary, but I wanted to know if you could recommend some gentle attractions or other fun activities to make sure she enjoys it too.

Thank you so much!

What (or who, I suppose) is the rarest costumed character to see at WDW?

I heard once of Ratigan, but I could not confirm it.

What is the point of a park hopper ticket?

When I go, I usually get lightning lane so I would like to know what is the point of a park hopper ticket since wait times are really long? I feel as though I can’t do everything I want to do in one park in a half day to hop to another.

Do you guys have any itineraries on the best use of your time? Do you get between the parks quickly during the day?

Mickeys Not so Scary bands

Ummm these things are terrible to get off?? And they tighten tighter if you mess with them too much! Quite literally almost lost circulation trying to get ours off….do they have any plans on changing these to something less painful? Anyone have any hacks for next time because 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫

Update: alright guys-lesson learned, I should have brought nail clippers/cosmetic scissors. Promise that next time I will remember to bring them. Scouts honor. Ended up having to walk down to the front desk and the wonderful CM was already prepped with scissors. Our hands are free.

Note: it’s not about me. I’m an adult with (some) critical thinking skills. But for children-a kid could tighten it and only start to say something when their hand starts to go numb or blue. Or fall asleep with it on. It’s kinda dangerous?

13 year old stepdaughter

My wife and I recently got married. We are taking her 13 year old daughter to DisneyWorld for a family honeymoon. I'm looking for something special I can do for her. Something I can plan but will be a surprise. Anyone have any suggestions? Behind the scenes? Special character visit? I'm open to anything.

Thank you in advance.

Shazam and parks music

Used to be able to Shazam the ambient parks music to find out about the composer, artists, etc. it's not working for me now. Notably, I was sitting in the Canteen at Animal Kingdom and Shazam claims not to recognize the music. But I'm pretty sure it's from the movie soundtrack! Anyone know what going on with this?

Family trip

Hi, we are just beginning to plan a trip for us and our 3 kids (ages 7 and twin 4 year olds). Would we be missing out a lot if we stayed off disney property and got an AirBnb instead? It seems like it would be more affordable but maybe I'm wrong. I only went once, and it was as a child so I'm not sure here. Thank you in advance!

This was my favorite part about the park, we went to every place, even the kid rides, ps: Thai pic is over 2 years old

Seeing my favorite car in a close up view was amazing, we took a picture with it, it was the best moment of my stay, thx Walt Disney World

Halloween Nuimos?

I don’t know if they are Nuimos but there are the little squishmallow type things but they have halloween ones currently that smell like foods. If anyone has grabbed one that smells like hotdog, does it actually smell like hotdog? They’re in mystery style boxes so I would have to either be really lucky to get a hotdog one or just keep trying. I have been obsessed with getting one just to see what a hotdog scented plush would smell like and how accurate to a hotdog it actually smells like.
