I'd love to be able to upload the course to my watch. Does anyone know where I can find a GPX file of the new course. I've found several for the 2024 course, but not the new one.
THANK YOU!!!
I’m signed up for the Princess 5K and I’d like to run at least some of it. I’m working on a Jeff Galloway training plan and it’s the week I am supposed to start running. But I’m scared.
Almost fifteen years ago I tore my acl. I did PT and then got busy with life (and no money), so I put off surgery for over a decade. I had the surgery four years ago, but there were complications, so recovery took a while. Despite months of PT, we never got to the running part before I had to stop. Then I gained a lot of weight and it felt hopeless. The one time I did try running after surgery I did this weird loping hop thing - nothing like the running I used to do pre-surgery.
Fast forward to now. I’ve lost 45 lbs this year - still overweight, but not nearly as much. I’ve also put on a lot of muscle after working with a personal trainer for several months. I know my knees/legs are strong enough to do this. I know that I only have to run for 5-10 seconds before I can start walking again. I just get super nervous and then put off my training for another night.
Anybody have any ideas or encouragement? I know I can walk the whole thing if I need to, but I’d like to be able to stop for character meets without the course closing on me. I think I’ll need to run at least a little.
I had no idea this was a thing and I am new to Orlando so take it easy on me! Is there any way to get a resale ticket for the events during January/Spring.
Hi guys! I’m running the 5k on 1/9/25. I have never participated in any RunDisney events so I have some questions! Does anyone know if ALL Disney hotels get race day transportation? I am staying at Art Of Animation if that helps. Thank you!
Interesting there’s not much hoopla regarding this race on here. I’m curious if this year’s heatwave is a turnoff. Anywho, good luck to all registering for the 2025 race. This community really helped me get registered for the upcoming Disneyland race in February…epecially after it turned out to big fiasco.
I will be running the marathon soon. My partner will be spectating along the route and I was wondering, what does security look like at magic kingdom. I ask because my partner has some chronic illnesses that can make it difficult to stand for long periods of time. I was looking into purchasing on of those telescoping stools that fits into a backpack for while they wait in magic kingdom. However I have heard that on a normal say park security takes these kinds of chairs. Would we be able to bring this into the park just during the spectating hours?
Does anyone have the strava route for the january 2024 disneyland half marathon that they can share?
This will be my first marathon so I didn’t have a proof of time. I’ve trained really hard and think I can beat 4 hours.
Here’s my question - if I get the placed in a later corral will I be weaving through traffic all race?
I'm running in the Princess Half in February. Does anyone know if the characters at each race are on a rotating schedule or just random? I feel like it is a secret, but I'm hoping Vanellope is present. I think last year she was only at the 10K Spring Time Surprise.
Hi everyone! I'm flying from Peru to participate in the Disneyland's Half Marathon Weekend 10k. I'm travelling with my dad and my brother, but i am the only one running.
It will (obviously haha) be my first runDisney race, and have a couple of questions about the logistics for the race itself:
I know the questions can be a bit basic 😅 but since we're traveling from so far for this, i want to be prepared for everything. Thanks in advance!
is the marathon course map out yet? I have friends staying at pop century and they want to know if the marathon course runs near their hotel or is it easier for them to go to Main Street or Epcot?
Hubby is running the full marathon. I have never been to Disney. We are staying at Polynesian resort. Do I need to buy park tickets to watch him cross the finish line? I have two little ones and would like to make him feel supported. Do runners love signs and T-shirts? What do you like to see at Disney and how much can we even do (are there parts of the course that we can cheer him on)? Should I air tag him? Lol. Thank you for your input. I definitely need help!
My family’s rD wall. Ran out of room displaying them side by side, so needed to stack them.
When: Thursday 1/9/25 4PM (We fly in that morning, grab my bib and otherwise will be lounging at the Swan Reserve.)
Where to meet: Boardwalk, between Jelly Rolls and Atlantic Dance Club
What's a shakeout run? Generally-speaking, your last easy and low mileage run prior to race day. But, socially, they've become organized group events prior to larger marathon weekends around the globe. Many of them are marketing vehicles to promote brands and launches. This one won't be affiliated with anything. It's just a chance to meet some new like-minded folks, share some miles and smiles. Maybe find some folks at similar paces to run with over the weekend.
What's the plan for this one? Meet at the above time and spot. Take a group pic. Head out around the EPCOT resort/Studios circuit of paved sidewalks. Keep an easy pace that works for the group.
As the majority of us are from out of town and likely coming in this day, no need to overthink this. Let's see what the response is to this thread.
If you're interested, please respond here to get a sense of how many folks may turn out. I want to get a sense of how many may show up and also be respectful of Disney and other guests.
Howdy rundisney fam! My dad and I are running dopey in January and he left me in charge of costumes... we need 4 (obviously). I am already thinking Darth Vader and Leia but i am looking for some other iconic Disney fathers and daughters! Give me your best ideas! Thank you and see you all in 44 days!
Someone had shared last year a snippet of the pacer info for the 2024 marathons and they all seemed to follow the Galloway run/walk approach. Do they not have pacers for a 1:30, 1:45 etc half for participants who run continuously?
It looks like last year’s first pace group (half) was for a 1:45 but with running 4mins and walking 30secs.
I’m going to be running the Disneyland half marathon 2025. I’ve never done a Disney race before, only ever smaller races. I like to use the bathroom right before the race starts. It seems like it might be so busy that won’t be an option. What has this experience been like in the last?
My wife is registered for the January marathon, but has received zero info about marathon logistics (check-in, bib pickup, corral assignment, transport from on-property hotel, etc). How does she get this info? Did she not get it, or does Disney email it later?
My husband and I are training for the dopey. We had some things come up that had us have to modify training plans and switch into the Galloway. We are scheduled to run about 20 miles next week and then 22/23 three weeks before dopey (12/21). We found a local marathon that is scheduled for that same day and we’re considering signing up so we could have water stations/bathrooms on the course and just hopefully make that really long run a more enjoyable experience. But that would actually put us at either running the 26.2 or running part and walking part but still putting that mileage on our body, which makes me a bit nervous about getting injured. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Hi! Running my first run disney race in February! I was only able to book the half marathon and I plan to get to California on Friday. Is it okay to miss the expo? Can I get my bib on Saturday? Im just trying to understand this whole thing lol!
Hi there, I signed up to run the princess half through a charity and paid the initial sign up fee. Due to life circumstances I won't be able to run the race. When they sent me the registration email I explained my situation. I have now reached out three times and haven't heard back. What happens if I just don't fill out the registration? I have raised some money but I'm not sure what to do moving forward since I haven't received a response. Has anyone else been in this situation?
Hello everyone, I have been coming to Disney World since I was a little girl and am interested in running the 10 miler. This would be my first time ever participating in a RunDisney event and I would like some more information
. Do you get your goodies after the race? . Do some people not walk/run the whole 10 miles?
Thanks so much!
Dreams come true. The classic Walt and Mickey Return to the coast to coast medal for 2025. I’m in love.
Does anyone remember when they announced coast to coast for 2024? I’m debating signing up for DL Halloween half just to complete coast to coast but from what I’ve seen 2025 C2C isn’t confirmed
If I'm currently registered for the Springtime 10-miler, if I register for the challenge, do I get any sort of a discount since I've already paid them for the 10-miler, or am I just out my initial $200 PLUS the $514 for the challenge?
Our organization unexpectedly has some bibs left we don’t want to see go to waste. Below are the races and options if you’re looking for WDW Marathon Weekend or DL Half Marathon Weekend.
You can either pay a lower reg fee and do some fundraising, or make a one time donation, no additional registration fee. Fundraising commitments are not due until the spring.
All money raised goes towards a great cause to provide free programs and services across the country.
If you’re interested, comment or message me and I’ll send you the link to our website with secure checkout.
Thanks for your support!
Where exactly are the kids races in Disneyland? We’re thinking of doing the Halloween races next year and we’ve got a little one who may also be interested. But I’m having a hard time finding details how the kids races work. Where exactly in the parks are they?
