Passport

We are coming to HKD in January. My son's passport will expire one day short of six months from the date we leave Hong Kong. Has anyone had any experience of getting into HK or being denied on a passport valid for less than 6 months?

Distance from subway to hotels?

Hey all!! Disney fan from California visiting HK in the next few weeks. Not 100% sure if I'll visit the park, but I am interested in checking out the bars at the hotels. (Dreamer's lookout / the Archivist) Is the only way there to walk from subway station? Or are the bars even worth checking out haha. If anyone wants to join I could always just some friendly company.

Senior Disney Ticket

Please help me. 2 months ago, there was discounted price for senior citizen. It just costs 20$. However, it's not available anymore. Do you happen to know if where can I still buy it? It's for my mom. Thank you in advance.

To the people who messed up and booked tickets or chose to visit Hong Kong on Christmas/New Year/Chinese New Year

If you are willing to spend way more, you can play the counterintuitive game and get the Tier 4 tickets, but, you will be paying significantly more in exchange for theoretically fewer people into the Park.

Park Entry Questions

Hi everyone, I have some questions regarding the entry process. Do you need to show proof of payment upon entering according to the ticket confirmation email? I've tried to pay for tickets on the sites with 6 different US credit cards (Visa, Amex, Master) but none of them worked so I had to ask my friend in HK to pay for it through UnionPay.

Also, how is the parking situation over there? Do I need to make a prior reservation for parking or I should be fine to just come in and come out?

Thank you!

Luggage Valet open for Early Access?

Hi, is the Luggage Valet open to accommodate those with Early Acess?

The park opens on December 18 at 10am, which means those with Early Access can go in at 9am. Will the Luggage Valet be open before 9am?

There's no specific info on the website about this and they haven't responded to my email that I sent 2 weeks ago.

Would appreciate helpful info. Thanks

Stage Shows and Parades for February 2025

Hi! I’m planning a trip to HKDL in February. I’m trying to make an itinerary, so I checked the park hours and entertainment schedules. I was trying to see what shows and parades will be on, but it says no time available. Does anyone know when they post the showing times and what will be happening when I visit? Thanks!

HKDL on 1-5 Jan 2025

Hi all, we’ll be in Hong Kong from 31 December 2024 to 5 January 2025, what day do you suggest to visit Disneyland?

We’d prefer less crowds and with Christmas decors. I heard that it only lasts up to 1st January, the next day most of the Christmas decor will be gone? Or is HKDL closed during 1 January 2025?

Also upon looking at various crowd calendars, is it true that HKDL is not crowded during 1st of January? That’s been the case since 2022 as per crowd calendars, and they’re predicting on 2025 it will the same. Or is it better to visit on weekend (4 or 5?)

Thank you and good day!

How do you reserve JoyYou $100 tickets ?

Hi, I'm visiting with my HK in-laws who are JoyYou card holders. Do they need to reserve the tickets in advance?

I've booked adult tickets for me and my spouse but can't see any advice on how to purchase the JoyYou tickets. Are they available in person at the gate?

We are visiting on a Tier 3 day, any advice appreciated!

(Also the $100 tickets are an amazing deal! Coming from the USA I'm amazed!)

Will it be crowded on January 4?

We’re thinking about whether to buy a fast pass or not, depending on how crowded it is.

Character Dining Times

Hi! I’m looking at doing a character dining buffet for breakfast at one of the hotels in March. For every day of the whole month, it only says 7:30 AM as the time. Even the other months as well. Are there other times that open up later? Is it just come whenever after 7:30?

HK DISNEYLAND TRAVEL DATES

Hi, it will be our 3rd time visiting HK, and I read that Chinese New Year will fall on January 29, 2025, and that it’s usually followed by a week of public holidays, with many people celebrating for two weeks or even up to a month. Also read that it will still be busy up until Lantern Festival (15 days after start of CNY)

We're planning to visit Hong Kong from February 13-18 (2025).

Do you think this would be a good time to go, especially for Disneyland, without it being too crowded with tourists and visitors from the mainland who may still be on vacation?

What dates on February would be the safest?

Disney Hotels Check-in time

I saw that the standard check-in time is 3:00 PM.

If you arrive early (around 10 AM), will you be allowed to stay within resort premises and enjoy some of the amenities while waiting for your room?

Two-way car rental booking

Hi there, I'm travelling with a group of five, including a senior citizen and we are intending to book the car rental service from Klook to pick us up from the hotel to Disneyland. There doesn't seem to be an option for two-way pick up though. Is it OK to rent an Uber there for our return? Also, what is a good pick-up time after the final fireworks show?

Disney Trip Advise - 1 or 2 Days with a 1-year old

Hi all! Can someone please advise if we should do a one day or two day disney trip with a One year old? We’re going to HK for Disney and we don’t have much to do in HK with a one year old at the moment. Haven’t planned so much! And we don’t really want to rush Disney through everything!

Thanks in advance!

Trip Report - young adult couple on Thursday December 5 with Early Entry

tldr Don’t book with Klook if you want to see Playhouse. Skip the Moana show, and get to other shows early for a good seat. With some strategy can get to all rides and shows without paying for Premier access.

I (M 30) and my wife (F 30) attended on a non-holiday weekday during Christmas season. Purchased Early Entry but not Premier Access. We were trying to maximize rides and shows, and were not interested in character meets. Had done quite a bit of research and had some well thought-out strategies prepared going in. Just been to Disney World earlier in the year and the crowds and wait times as expected were tiny by comparison. Unless otherwise noted, rides were walk-ons.

We booked tickets with early entry through Klook and no matter how many times I tried I could not link them in the app. As you’ll see, this caused serious problems with booking a pass for the Playhouse in the Woods show - if attending this show is important to you, strongly recommend paying a little extra to get tickets from the official website, as have seen reports of many people struggling to link Klook tickets to the app.

9.10 Entered the park. Didn’t quite arrive for the start of early entry, but virtually no queue to get in. 9.20 Frozen Ever After 9.35 Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs 9.45 Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs (looped) 10 Winnie the Pooh 10.15 Dumbo 10.30 Mad Hatters Tea Cups 10.40 It’s a Small World 11.10 Toy Story Parachute Drop (Finally a queue! 10 minute posted & actual wait) 11.20 Slinky Dog Spin (10 mins posted, 5 mins actual wait) 11.30 RC Racer (10 mins posted & actual wait)

11.45 Made our first mistake of the day! Went all the way back to Frozen land to try to get into Playhouse in the Woods but the queue looked horrendous. Decided to bail and try to get a Standby Pass on the app at 12.

11.50 Jungle Cruise (10 min posted wait, but actually a walk on) 12 Tried to get Playhouse standby pass while on the Jungle Cruise but no internet (wifi or 4G) there. Turns out there are quite a few wifi blackspots around the park and even a few 4G blackspots! 12.05 Tried to get Playhouse standby pass once off Jungle Cruise, but it didn’t work without tickets linked in the app, which wasn’t working for our Klook tickets. Decided to try the queue later in the day. Meanwhile bought and ate a Churro (no queue).

12.10 Mystic Manor 12.30 Got some popcorn (no queue) 12.45 Went to the castle for the Mickey and Friends Christmastime Ball Show but it was cancelled! 12.50 Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars (10 mins posted, 15 mins actual wait)

1.15 Went to Tarzan’s island (only 1 raft in operation, just missed it so had to wait ~7mins for the next one, managed to catch a raft back with no wait)

1.35 Lunch at Tahitian Terrace Quickservice restaurant (5 min posted, 10 mins actual wait)

2.10 Went to get a seat for 2.30 Festival of the Lion King. So many people there 20mins early! Bit worried but we got a seat with a good view near the back. For seats near the front probably need to arrive 30mins early. Theatre was full - if you came with less than 10 minutes to go you might not have been let in.

3.10 Went to reserve a seat for 3.45 Moana show. Managed to get front row right in the middle. The small theatre filled up quickly - standing room only 25 mins before, and soon after that even that wasn’t available.

To be honest I regretted going to this show (I say this as a Moana fan). Sunk an hour on this, including a long wait in a seat without shade (it was a cool day by HK standards, can’t imagine what it would be like in Summer). The show was easily the worst at the park and was not worth it - small cast doing a very basic retelling of the story, not even singing the songs. Do not recommend.

4.15 Iron Man Experience

4.35 Found a good spot for Mickey and Friends Christmastime Ball show at 4.45

5.10 Wife wasn’t feeling good after the Iron Man experience so went to check out the Playhouse in the Woods queue - it was full of people and they weren’t letting anyone into it for the rest of the day. Meanwhile I rode Hyperspace Mountain. (10 mins posted & actual wait) 5.25 Ant-Man and the Wasp (just me) 5.40 Found my wife and had dinner at Comet Cafe (10 mins posted, 5 mins actual wait)

6.10 Went to watch “A Holiday Wish-Come-True” Tree Lighting Ceremony, getting a last minute spot quite a way down Main Street but in the middle of the road and with a good view (a little behind Corner Cafe). Couldn’t see Santa Goofy but could see the tree and the drones very clearly.

6.30 Cinderella Carousel (5 mins posted & actual wait)

6.45 Went to get a seat for 7pm showing of Mickey and the Wondrous Book. Central section full, but able to get a good central seat on the side. Not full, some (bad) seats were empty.

7.40 Orbitron (5 mins posted, 10 mins actual wait)

At this point I’d finally completed all the rides!

8 Ant-Man and the Wasp (both of us together this time)

8.05 Went to find fireworks viewing position. Some people had been staking out positions since 6.30, which was totally not necessary - we got a great position at 8.05. We could see good spots still available at 8.20, but it wasn’t easy to get to them. A lot of people couldn’t see the good spots and went to poorer ones.

8.30 “Momentous” Nighttime Spectacular

9.00 Stayed in Main Street for 65 mins after official closing time. Would recommend - most people leave and it’s quieter and is a good time for photos with the castle, Christmas tree and Main Street. Security won’t let you into any of the other lands, but nobody is trying to rush you out of the park. There was a surprise “snow storm” from 9.20-9.30 where all these snow machines came on and full on pumped out snow for 10 minutes - more than during the tree lighting earlier. So much snow, particularly nice around the bottom of Main Street near the tree. A couple of shops and a food stand were still open at this time - the food cart had some 2-for-1 offers as well.

So overall on an off peak day managed to do all rides (with max wait 15 mins and mostly walk-ons) and all shows except for Playhouse in the Woods, but barely and requiring some strategy and quick meals. Would have been more relaxed if we had skipped some shows. Avoided some long potential wait times (particularly for Frozen rides, Toy Story, Mystic Manor and Winnie the Pooh). If going to shows need to get there early for a good seat. Don’t book through Klook if you want to see Playhouse in the Woods. And recommend skipping the Moana show - theatre is too small and getting a good seat requires a long wait which just isn’t worth it.

How to check ticket reservation availability before I buy on Klook?

I can't figure out how to check the reservation availability for day tickets, I'd like to make sure they're available before I buy on Klook. I know that it's cheaper to buy a ticket without a reservation date, which is fine since I can just add it myself on the HKDL site, but I don't want to buy a ticket to find out that the date I want (Dec 30) is unavailable. Thanks for any assistance!

HKDL CLOSED EVERY WEDNESDAY?

Hello! I read somewhere that HKDL is closed every Wednesday? Is this true? Planning to move our visit on a Wednesday because of conflict with the schedule but scared that they might be closed on that day. We’re planning to visit the park on April 30. Can someone please enlighten me or confirm if this is true? Thank you so much!

Being a Cast Member

I was looking at jobs with the Disney Company and noticed a costuming assistant role open at Hong Kong Disneyland. I have costuming experience and would love to work in this department for Disney in some capacity.

Does anyone here have experience moving from the US to work at Hong Kong Disneyland? I am interested in this, but I wanted to hear about other people's experiences as cast members there. Even if you moved from a different country than the US to Hong Kong to work there, I'd love to hear from you.

Thank you in advance for any insights!

Ticket Upgrade

So I bought Disneyland Tickets (1-day tickets) on Klook and wasn’t able to add for Premier Access and Early Access since there weren’t any left for the date I picked.

Can I upgrade tickets for Premier Access in the park on the day itself? I wanted to upgrade all tickets for Premier Access to 8 Attractions. Not interested in the Early Access anymore.

Thank you!

Vegetarian food

Looking for recommendations for vegetarian food at Disneyland Hongkong.

I saw that there are some restaurants with veg options in the Disneyland Hotel but I am only visiting the park. Can I just exit the park and walk to the hotel to visit the restaurant and then re enter the park?

Best ticket to choose on Tier3 Day

Hi All,

My girlfriend and I are looking to go to HKDL on Dec 20 2024 and as per website its a Tier 3 day. Since it's nearing Christmas, I was wondering if fast passes/early access passes would be needed or worth it for this day.

Also what are the best deals for going into HKDL, are tickets with meals worth it or is it better to bring in own food. Is it better to purchase on the site or other sites such as klook etc?

Any suggestions are welcome since it will be our first time to enter a DL.

Thanks!

Help me decide which week in December or January to go to HK Disneyland

I'll be in HK on Christmas Day, for 3 days (December 25rd - 28th).

Then I'll be returning on stopover on January 3rd - 6th.

Is it worth braving Disneyland for the Christmas events there? Or should I wait til January when crowds surely have lessened? I'll have a 5-year-old with me so I'm hesitant even going if there's too many people.

Are foldable phone tripods and camera allowed in HKDL?

It’s my first time in any Disney Park and I wonder if I can bring my Sony A6300 mirrorless camera there along with my 17-70mm Tamron lens? The lens is about 7 inches long, it’s not even professional camera and lens but mid-range.

I also want to bring my phone tripod (which not extends to 6ft), do you think it will be okay? Though I won’t be using it most of the time but for random self photos only.

I’m just so confused on what’s in HKDL website. Thanks in advance!
