My experience with the disability priority card

Hi there! I always see a lot of questions about this so thought I'd share my experiences.

I requested the card a month out online and on the day we arrived picked up it at the hotel check-in. It was very straight forward to collect and the staff specifically said to me that you never need to disclose your disability to anyone and that it will always be honoured.

When arriving at the parks there's a separate disability entrance you can use and on rides there's sometimes two options: option one is to use the "premier access" line, I found this line to be pretty short most times but in some instances (such as tower of terror and phantom manor) the queues run inside in pretty dark and cramped spaces.

Option 2 is the "disability access line" which is more reserved for people with mobility issues and looked to be pretty long on most rides we looked at. However, if you have cognitive disabilities I think this is a good option, as previously mentioned some queues are dark and cramped.

There's a disability area set aside for fireworks and for parades. The area for parades is not the largest and there's only a couple benches in the area, so take this into account if you struggle to stand for long periods of time. It's the same area for fireworks but much larger, however I'd still arrive early! And also, if you can stand for long periods please give up your seats for those who can't. A poor lady had to sit on the floor for fireworks as a family had taken over the benches despite not needing the whole row - she was visibly struggling and I felt so awful for her!

More importantly, if you are entitled to this pass and have the relevant supporting documents then please take advantage of this wonderful service! I would never have been able to go to disneyland without this!

Guys, I have a problem.

A few days ago my family and I went to Disneyland Paris and I had a Disability Priority Card. One day I went on a ride alone, without my family, with my Priority Card, without showing it, normal line. What are the consequences? Am I a criminal?!

Pins for trading at Disneyland Paris

My daughter collects pin badges although only just starting her Disney collection as they’re so expensive!

I was wondering about buying a bundle of Disney pins on eBay for her trade with when we go to Disneyland Paris next year but they’ll be the American ones so concerned people won’t trade those with her.

She has a few loungefly ones but don’t know if they’ll trade those either?

Anyone knowledgeable about the pin trading game in Paris?

Thanks!

A "first-timer's" solo experience to Disneyland Paris

Hi everyone! And Merry christmas (already 😂). Let me set the scene first, I'm 26M from Spain with a wild love for themeparks that after my first year of properly saving thanks to a decent paying job I decided to gift myself the """full"""" Disney experience: 3 days of parks and 2 nights half board in the Sequoia Lodge.

In case you're wondering it: due to the high costs, I couldn't really ask any friend to come join me which gave me tons of time to experience and reflect and is the reason why I'm writing this.

I shall also organise this in sections because I can:

HOTEL Loved the Sequoia, it gave me the minium comfort I was looking for (complementary coffees and teas, a gym, a decent bathtub) without skyrocketing the price.

Hotel food: I must praise the dinner buffet. The meat was superb and it offered quite unusual combinations with well developed flavors. The hotel-made deserts were also top notch. I'm actually feeling quite bad because I saw tons of tables eating sad nuggets and pasta when other choices were actual-restaurant quality.

On the other side, the breakfast was sad. Was it standard-quality? Yes. Did it fill me up? Yes. But the variety was standard if not limited, the presentation was standard, and the price is not standard so I guess I was just dissapointed. Also forget about any home-made pastries or cakes for breakfast, all 100% industrial. Also for those that enjoy some fruity breakfasts... Not even grapes and we're in season.

PARKS They are stunning sets and the detailing is to be praised. I came here for fake historicity and tacky decor and both parks deliver well even while half of both are currently under works.

This said, they are small, do take that into account. They take tons of space and you'll walk slowly blocked by Disney princess wannabes having their photo taken by, what often seemed, a forcefully disneyfied boyfriend, and very noisy families BUT, there aren't that many rides and actual shows amount to 6 if you count the parades.

The rides are fine but don't expect to be adrenalined if you've visited a couple of other parks before.

From this visit I do leave feeling that Disney expects you to waste a lot of time shopping and waiting for a character photo to even sell the need for a hotel, otherwise you could very well do both parks in a single day.

Food though... No. Punto. I can't speak of buffets and table services but in food trucks and quick services and snacks: in-park food is sad. Seasonal highlight: the Christmas "vert'meilleux" special felt like eating a bunch of shaped nothingness, I commend the creator for coming up with the ultimate flavourless, textureless eatable.

And last, one pretty much bothering red flag is having to download an app to work out the parks. The paper map is there but has barely no info and most importantly: no timetables.

STAFF Im making this section since praising/ranting about the Disney staff seems to be a sport. I have no complaints. The receptionist spoke perfect Spanish -he was from Spain so no real merit there lol- and I was well treated everywhere. I did try opening and speaking in French which did sparkle joy in some of the staff too.

TBH I'm glad I wasn't greeted by false smiles and overly-welcoming mannerism. I'm all in for a warm bonjour/soir but anything above that I find tacky.

TLDR: Overall, I'd recommend a visit at least once in a lifetime and coming back around every 10 years if you like Disney and themeparks. If you do decide to come I do very much recommend paying extra for a hotel and get the fully packaged experience.

Going solo

Hi guys. I moved to Spain from the US few months ago and it’s been a dream to go to Disney Paris (yes, typical American😅). I’ve made friends here but not anyone that is willing to come with so I decided to book a weekend for nov 16 and 17 and decided to go alone. I travel alone often, I’m used to it but I just didn’t know if doing Disney Paris solo was going to be enjoyable. Has anyone done solo trips to Disney, how was the experience for you?

Disney lanyards with space for pass and mouse ears

Hello! Where did you all buy Disney lanyards for the kids that they can attach their passes to and pin badges for trading?

I’m also looking for the best place to get affordable mouse/minnie ears for the kids and us!

Thanks!

Sequoia lodge hotel merch

Hi everyone, I've seen that recently there's been some hotel branded merch. I've seen images of sequoia lodge mugs and a pin badge. I'm just wondering if anyone who has been recently and stayed in SL has seen any other branded merch available?

Hotel package + pass holder

Wondering if anyone can help

2 people , one has an annual pass and 1 does not .

Looks cheaper for the person without the pass to book a onsite room and ticket package on there own .

Could the annual pass holder then just stay in the room with them ?

Thanks

Leaving the park for lunch?

I have heard mixed reviews about the restaurants within DLP.

As we are driving to DLP and therefore have a car, I have found several cafes/restaurants that are around 10 min drive from the park.

Is it practical to leave the park for lunch and come back?

Restaurant help

We're going in March for 2 nights and have 2 dinners available, staying at hotel cheyenne. I'm on debate between 3 places, plaza gardens, manhattan and the chuck wagon. Pros and cons of each? It's a 9 year old and 2 adults, he turns 9 on our first day there. Thank you!

Character dining booking at Plaza

First timer here. Going next September and booked flights, hotel and tickets through Walt Disney Travel Company. Got the booking linked on the app, so been looking at restaurant bookings. It seems I can make a booking for anywhere except Character dining at Plaza, which is telling me I can only do two months before. But I’ve been able to make a reservation for Downtown (and I can see the bookings for Royal Banquet so I’m not excluded from all character dining). I’m confused, why is this, anyone able to fill me in?

Thanks.

Opening hours not available on website

We are visiting DLP in the first week of February 2025. I have been checking the website to find out about ride closures, but despite being available to click on the dates, the site is saying opening hours not available.

Does anyone know when I will be able to see ride closures?

Shuttle bus just crashed.

So we were waiting at the bus for b&b hotel, and it didn't show up. After waiting for half an hour, we took a bolt taxi. He told us that the bus crashed. Anyone know of it was a bad Crash? Is everyone ok?

2 park 1 day strategies

Need advice. Heading there tomorrow for opening. Bought a two day pass.

How early should I get there? What rides can I “rope drop”? Aka which ones should I prioritise?

Which park should I start in? Was thinking Hollywood studios then dLP? Or should I go DLP, Hollywood studies, dlp?

Merci!

Another meal plan question

Just trying to understand and we have yet another question. We are booked three nights with the half board We check in on the 6th and check out on the 9th. From what I understand, we get 3 breakfast and 3 lunches or dinners .

The breakfasts will be used 7th, 8th and 9th. The question we have is can a dinner be used on the 6th? Arrival day? Thanks so much

Cars Road Trip really makes me sad

I'm not even angry anymore.

I'm a big fan of Studio Backlot Tour from Disney World, so seeing it gone was a huge letdown, but I understood the reasoning behind its departure.

We were left with the watered down snoozefest of the Studio Tram Tour in the Walt Disney Studios. A big empty nothing with a decent canyon scene. It's always been something I avoided on my visits due to taking too much time and really amounting to nothing.

Then they announced a revamp and Cars theming. I hate Cars, but that's on me, let's see what they do.

Same boring stuff.

It's now been a couple years and decided to do it again, since my nephew was visiting for the first time and boy... They even removed the fire.

Maybe it was just yesterday? Maybe it was like this in 2021 as well and I removed the memory? Honestly, it feels so out of place and it saddens me to no end that this is the only remaining legacy of Studio Backlot Tour

Sorry, had to rant.

The rest of the stuff we did was top notch.

Cake pops, are they available?

Hi! We’re currently visiting, and can’t find the cake pops anywhere! Does anyone know if they’re available, and if so where?

Thanks in advance!

Is there a Christmas food guide?

Is there a list of seasonal food at the restaurant like this one for Disneyland/California Adventure? I've been looking online and haven't found anything.

Going from CDG to DLO this weekend

And I have no plan. I’m flying in from NYC tomorrow and want to spend 2 days at DLP - it’s just me and my 4 year old. She likes Frozen and Minnie Mouse but doesn’t know much more Disney than that. What rides or experiences do you recommend for her? We’re budget conscious but want a little splurge / where should we stay. I’m traveling with her by myself For this first time so I need everything to be easy, easy, easy. If this is a terrible idea, tell me!

Rurbishment but already paid

I'm going end of January.

I already paid for a meal plan and paid a supplement, with confirmation letter directly via DLP, for Dinner with Disney character dinning at Plaza Garden Restaurant and breakfast on another day.

But, according to the app calender it says it closed for refurbishment and doesn't even show reservations past December now, saying "too early" etc. ( I booked and paid originally via "extras", not table bookings).

Anyone else seen this, should I be concerned, or is it just general app vs website miscommunication and conflicting information?

Perks for former cast members

I used to be a Cast Member and I still have my blue employee card. Any insider tips on where I can still get some perks when I show my card, without it needing to be swiped?

From previous trips (while still a CM), I know that flashing your card will allow you free parking, and sometimes they'll let you go in the fast pass lane (at CMs discretion).

Maybe like stroller rental? Or luggage deposits? I don't want to risk them swiping my card and be like, "you are no longer a CM, we will take your blue card", as I'm sentimentally attached to it.

Disney enchanted Christmas tickets

Does Disney Paris have a special ticketed event/Christmas party? Their website shows special Christmas events but I don’t see special ticket options the way Disney World offers. Thanks in advance for any help…
