Was wondering if the rooms provide any pool or beach tote? Thanks in advance!
I need some suggestions for proposing to my girlfriend in Hawaii. We’ve been together for about 3 years now and we are going to Aulani for the first time this September. Her parents and sister will be there with us and I want them to be there with us for the moment.
I’m struggling to figure out the right place to do it and how to capture the moment. I’m willing to spend up to $800. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
Welcome to r/Aulani!

Just wanted to give anyone traveling here in the next few weeks or so a bit of a heads up, we've just completed our 9 day stay, before we arrived we'd gotten a notification in the app that they were going to be doing refurb work on keiki splash pad and that it might be closed during our stay. It turned out that construction is pretty limited and part of the splash pad was open our whole stay. However about 3 days ago, they started construction on the infinity edge, adults only spa (alohi point spa) closing it down completely. Then that same day the closed the cabanas at menehune bridge (water playground for kids). The spa at the waikohole pool has also been closed the whole time we've been here. And just yesterday they shut down the entirety of the menehune bridge (water playground for kids).
So there's a lot of refurb and construction going on right now it seems. Not sure how long it's expected to last.
Also as an aside the elevator in the self park parking deck stopped working at some point yesterday. I was the one to actually notify the front desk and they did sent some one out pretty promptly to put out of order labels on the doors and said they'd get a work order in but uncertain how long it'd be down.
I know in Disney World, we are able to get groceries delivered to us; however, I am unsure if it's the same at Aulani.
And if so, any recommendations? Does Instacart work in Oahu?
Thanks!
EDIT: THANK YOU ALL for your responses! I'll be using your advice!
We’re heading to Aulani soon and planning to have a babysitter come in the evenings so we can go out to dinner. We get free parking for 2 cars as a DVC perk. It sounds like you use an app to get into the garage- is there any other way to get access? What would be the best way to let a babysitter use that second free spot? Do you have to give Aulani the license plate numbers or anything like that (ie could we use the second spot for a few different sitters over the week)?
Hi! Does anyone know if there are any refillable water bottle stations on property? Interested in bringing our insulated bottles but don’t want to lug them if they don’t have accessible stations. Thanks!

I'm hoping to get some clarification on the breakfast at Makahiki. From what I'm seeing it's $50 for each adult and for example it's 3 eggs and 1 piece of bacon. For $50??
I'm hoping I read that wrong but that's insane
Hi! I just read a post here about availability of magic bands and I didn’t realize we should be bringing them to the resort! I’m going to be doing a staycation there this weekend and wondering what you use them for at Aulani?
We’re planning on mostly doing pool stuff while there.
Thank you!
Anyone that’s been recently or there now know what magic bands they sell at Aulani? Debating if I should purchase before our stay or just wait until we get there in a couple weeks. And how much are they there?
Hello everyone! It's been a while since we've done a community update, and those who have been looking at the subreddit over the past few days have probably noticed a few changes. We wanted to highlight those to continue improving the experience of r/Aulani!
We are always looking to continue improving the subreddit to make it as beneficial and welcoming as can be. If you have any other suggestions on future changes we should make, please share them here!
Our check in is at 4pm, but are wondering if we will be able to access the pool and beach areas before then?
Looking to send a gift basket of some sort to my friend staying at Aulani for her wedding. Not looking for flowers, would prefer treats of some sort!
Planning our first trip in March of 2027. Yes, still a ways away but we’re going to start saving now so we can afford this beautiful vacation.
Since we’re in the early stages of planning the trip, hoping for recommendations on the best method to reserve rooms? Costco? Directly through the website? Third party (Expedia)? Hoping to see what has worked best for people and what to avoid.
Thanks all!
Did AM or PM beach club seem to work better schedule wise ?
Which did your kids love ? Which would they skip ?
We have a 7 yo girl.
Hello, all!
My family recently booked an Aulani trip for October. Our kids will be 7 and 2.5. The 7 yo will be able to go to Aunty's, but curious if anyone has recommendations for in room babysitting?
I did a little Googling but didn't find much. Looks like they used to have a service but don't anymore idk.
Thanks in advance if anyone has advice!
Any suggestions for getting out to Pearl or tour that provide transportation? The Aulani tour is quite pricey, and wondering if anyone has recommendations (outside of hopping in an Uber of course).
We are so excited to visit Aulani in September. I am trying to weigh the options on renting DVC points vrs booking directly with the 30% off Disney discount. A few questions....
We are going for my daughter's 4th birthday any must dos with a 4 year old please share!!
It appears that the children's menus at Aulani are designed for kids aged 9 and under, but can they be obtained for children older than 9?
We are headed to Aulani next week for the first time. I believe I saw somewhere that you can rent cars at the Aulani hotel.
Is it possible to rent the car from the Airport (NHL) and drop it off at the hotel assuming you rent a car from a company that is partnered with Aulani?
Thanks in advance for any tips or things to consider :)
Going next week for a week. We have the luau booked one night and are staying in a villa so we can cook most of our meals. What are some things that we have to do/see and what are some things we can skip doing or buying? Thanks!
My family and I are planning a trip to Hawaii for a week. We’re planning on doing a split stay, one half at Aulani and the other half at a hotel closer Honolulu so we can experience as much of Oahu as we can. We’re also planning on renting a car.
Would it be better to stay at Aulani in the first half of the week or the second half?
We just had the pick of the litter for a 30 minute photo session before dinner. No one in line. This is the best deal here and the photographers are great! $99 or less for your entire stay! If you’re DVC you’ve got to do it with the discount!
We’re headed to Aulani in a couple weeks for 7 days. We have a rental car for three days and want to really utilize it to explore Oahu. What were your favorite things to do around the island? We’re already planning on visiting the Dole Plantation and the Polynesian Cultural Center.
*Important note: we will have an 18 month old with us.
Bonus points for anyone that has hidden gems they want to share!
My little one uses a kids life jacket with the water wings attached when she swims, she is 42-45 lbs. Are these available at the Aulani or are they the regular vest style for kids? Also, how deep are the pools? Are they too deep for an average 5 year old to stand up in?
I am trying to plan ahead for my 5 year old. Thanks for any and all responses!
Is rainbow reef worth it? Looking for local’s perspective if possible. I’m doing a staycation and wondering if I should do this or not. I have snorkeled many times so I’m just wondering I guess if it’s super awesome or just whatever. lol. Any reason I should do it? Or just give it a pass and focus on enjoying the pools?
I also see snorkeling equipment is provided but would we be able to use our own mask and snorkel?
