Is anybody else as fascinated by the layout of Daria's house as I am? For years now I've been hung up on the Morgendorffers' dining room. It only appears in two episodes, and I can't for the life of me figure out where it actually is in their house.
I think the most common answer is that it's tucked between the kitchen and the garage, but that doesn't really fit with the shots of the garage we get in season one. I thought maybe it was through the door next to their kitchen table, but that's a single door and the door we see in the dining room is a double door. Is it tucked away in that corner in the back of their living room next to the kitchen, the one that looks like it should be the door to a patio? That's my best guess right now, but I'm not sure if it works.
Does anybody have any ideas/answers on this one?
Where I'm watching Daria on the telly, before you click play on an episode, there's a background image of Quinn and Quinn's friends all sitting on her bed and Stacy is hitting Sandi with a magazine (I presume). It all looks very dramatic, almost modern artwork. Quinn's wearing her long sleeves so I know it's based on the later seasons. It's really bothering me, does anyone else know what I mean? Where is it from? Is it an episode I haven't seen yet?
The weirdos and pervs are gone now. Pics, fan art, and other artwork are a large part of this sub. The sub has been in decline and I hate to see it like this. Any body hardly post or respond anymore. We shouldn't all pay the price because of a few nut jobs.
I get it. The show centers around teenagers and high school, so we'll always have those kinds of people(pedos and sex offenders) lurking around. They can be blocked when they violate the rules.
I've searched pretty thoroughly and wasn't able to find the episode with the full length intro. Does anybody have it?
Does somebody know the books with alike or similar characters to Daria?
Tell/describe the show from their point of view.
Ex:
Brittany: I'm pretty popular and on the cheerleading team. My boyfriend is super hot and he's the QB! But he's a cheating jerk, I can do better. My little brother can be a spoiled brat sometimes. I just ignore him. And my dad? I think he loves us, he throws money at everything, but he doesn't pay attention to us.
There is this new girl at school with big glasses. Her and her art friend aren't very nice, but she's super smart and helps me. They think I'm dumb, but I know I can be smart too if I try. Btw, I throw awesome house parties, you should come.
Who is your favorite character, and how would they tell the story?
I’m curious what the context is lol https://pin.it/3QDysZqah
I was more distracted by Mack's new voice than the singing.
Idk if it’s me but I kinda find Mr. Demartino attractive? How about y’all? I need opinions abt that handsome man 🥰
Got her Hebe alter ego, cause i also love Greek Mythology https://imgur.com/a/cWeytwP

I’m just doing my 50th rewatch and I just don’t think it’s underrated how good of a dad Jake is. He’s dumb sometimes and super anxious but he really does try his best. What made me think more about it is when Daria had a rash (Ep: “Ill”) and he’s convinced it’s drugs. It’s very endearing? If that’s the best way to describe it. Yes he’s ridiculous but it’s just funny/sweet.
Edit to insert one of my fav quotes from him (Ep: “The Teachings of Don Jake”):
“Daria - Mail's here. Did you know Congress still spends two hundred and fifty billion a year on the military?
Jake - Two hundred and fifty billion a year?!! Dammit, that's it, Daria! What am I? Made of money?
Jake - Tutoring, dental work, Congress! I'm not a machine, dammit! I'm a man!”
do y’all think that daria will ever get a reboot? or no?

It's been a year since I did my first full watch through of the show, and the show and all its characters still live rent free in my mind.
I can't place a finger on it, but at its core is Daria's and Jane's friendship, and it being tested by Tom. Also seeing the characters grow and start to change. And it was a great show that got a conclusion. I've said it before, but many shows don't get that. They get canceled mid production or before starting a new season, and the fans are left to imagine what might happen to their favorite characters. But Daria got to have a relatively happy conclusion. We got to see her as a 15 year old new kid at school become a young woman at 18 graduating and preparing for college.
Anyone else? What keeps you thinking about the show and coming back to it?
It's pretty funny. My favorate character has to be the father he is hilarious. So far the modeling episode is the funniest one. There are so many good jokes.
In the very first episode there’s a scene where Mr. Demartino asks Daria what manifest destiny is. Obviously, she answers the question correctly
In “Is it fall yet?”, Mr. Demartino asks this same question to his new sophomore class. Quinn, having presumably learned about it in her tutoring sessions over the summer, and much to the surprise of the fashion club, also gives a correct explanation
What do you think? An impressive parallel meant to further emphasize that despite their differences, Daria and Quinn are similar in some ways ?Just a coincidence?
I know we are not in December yet, but an idea that poped in my head a few years back. I came up with the idea of my A Christmas Carol casting with characters from my favorite animated shows. My casting will have Anthony DeMartino as Ebenezer Scrooge, J.T. Marsh (from Exosquad) as Bob Crachit, Brendon Small (from Home Movies) as Tim Crachit, Erik Lehnsherr (from Marvel) as Jacob, Daria Morgendorffer as The Ghost of Christmas Past, Snagg (from Conan the Adventurer) as The Ghost of Christmas Present, Phantasm (from Batman: Mask of The Phantasm) as The Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come, Metalhead (from G.I. Joe Extreme) as Fred, Professor Algernon (from Exosquad) as Fezziwig, Nara Burns (from Exosquad) as Belle, Mighty Max as Peter Crachit, Ro Rowan (from The Zeta Project) as Martha Crachit, Eve Hanley (from Exosquad) as Fan, Wolf Bronski and Kaz Takagi (both from Exosquad) as The Portly Gentleman and Colleen O'Reilly (from Exosquad) as Mrs. Crachit. The story would be similar to past versions, most notably the 1951 film and the 1984 TV film. What do you think of my A Christmas Carol casting?
I was wondering if Daria has a middle name. In fact, were any of the characters’ middle names ever mentioned? I know it’s a super random question, but it’s become my fixation of the day. I searched online to see if Daria had a middle name, and the Daria wiki says it’s “Leona.” That sounds fitting and great for Daria, but I’m not sure if it was ever confirmed on the show. It would be cool to know the characters’ middle names because their first names already seem to tell us so much about them. It would be fun to learn their second names—imagine if Daria’s middle name was something totally unfitting and funny, like “Grace” or “Angel” (no shade if those are your middle names).
Since I’m 99% sure middle names were never confirmed, what do you guys think would be fitting for each character? Again, I know it’s a random question, but I’m bored.
This is a really fun one to talk about
One of Daria’s more experimental episode, this is a murder mystery episode, with a very dreamy feel. I’d say only 10% of the episode is actually real, around the beginning and the end. The rest is pretty much all in Daria’s head. Now some people might say, why watch a episode where it has no impact on the story? Why bother watching a episode that takes place in a dream? Simple really.
Because it is really entertaining.
You can tell the writers had a lot of fun with this episode. From the references, to the way that the story gets more and more ridiculous, to the really dark and nonchalant way people treat Kevin’s death. It all rounds up to a episode that is really funny. The way Kevin’s funeral was portrayed was defiantly a highlight in the episode for me, and I really enjoyed all the different outfits the characters were in. Also, this episode somewhat foreshadows a moment in Is It College Yet in the Charlie Angels section of the episode. Very cool
Overall, I enjoy this episode for what it is, a dark, wacky, psychedelic episode.

Can you guess what was number one? 😉
ok so hear me out guys im watching this show for the first time and im a bit confused... something strange happened the minute i put it on.. i realise d this girl daria? shes just like i am.. i feel so alienated from the jocks at school and my parents are dumb too and im always making intellectual remarks when they come out with such stupid things and im just like ha! this girl is me? is there any chance its about me guys? thanks.
Daria changes over the shows run. But her biggest character development came in the final regular episode "Boxing Daria", where she realize she was a difficult person to raise and thanks her parents.
Do you think if she had this realization in an earlier season, we could have gotten an even better show? Like we would have got to see the person she became beyond that growth and how she navigated the world. And how her recognizing she was a toxic person would've affected her friendship with Jane moving forwared. Or was that final development right for the series ending?
Yeah, Is It College Yet is the ultimate finale, but in a way, Boxing Daria was the true ending. I just wonder what the show would've been like if Daria had made that development sooner.
I'm on season 2 episode 4 and still no explanation. I'm not sure if that wall full of pillows things are for noise reduction, for acoustic, or just esthetic. Jane made joke implying she's schizofrenic but that's all.
