Because they're adorable too.
For adorable invertebrates.
This is a no-nope zone. No "kill it with fire" here.
All adorable invertebrates welcome from all taxa (except Vertebrata)! If you want to post a cute invertebrate, posting a link to a Wikipedia article in a comment or posting a paragraph about the animal is highly encouraged, and if you can find its scientific name, it is not required, but encouraged to put it in the title. Also, give credit to the original photographer/source where available.

It was in that moment the snail knew he fucked up
Only caught the tail end of this sadly 😭 it went on for minutes! The snail has unknowingly crawled onto a striped pillbug's back, where the pillbug then began to rock and buck trying to get the lil guy off. This is the first and last time I've ever seen something like this, normally the two groups don't interact. Most likely just an honest mistake on the snail's part, it probably was super confused when the floor started moving!
This took place in my Big Bug Tank, which is a 48 x12 x 24 bioactive tank with multiple groups of invertebrates living together. It's starting to get crowded, I think I'm going to have to split some of the bugs out soon. Especially the snails, the baby eastern white-lips grew up really fast!
I was delighted (re-light-ed?) to find this firefly larva today in Short Hills Provincial Park! It was crawling on an old log and took a tumble off it .. they are far from graceful. But I was able to find the little larva in the grass and send him back on his way.
iNaturalist suggests this is a Pyractomena firefly larva.
This dragonfly nymph was eating like a mf until a swarm of daphnia and scuds showed up to bully him off his perch.
Self diagnosed of course. That being said, please show me pictures of all your buggy pets. I’m trying to get over this fear ♥️
Pretty 😁
Found this fella on the road, so I picked ‘em up and placed ‘em back into a tree (not before snapping a good photo first though)!
I just received him a few hours ago. He’s incredibly friendly, plus he loves to hang out with Grapefruit, my adorable Caracolus excellens. Together, they make a fabulous couple!
