New members:

Please review the rules before posting.

While not mandatory, introductions are encouraged in order for us to get to know you and your story.

We also encourage you to read the FAQs and search our sub before asking a question. Many of our members have weighed in on heavy topics before and searching those threads can be helpful.

What are the daily/weekly threads?

These are for discussion related to TTC, your loss, how you're doing today, what's new in your life.. anything that you don't think warrants its own post. Off-topic discussion is allowed!

The "TTC" thread is for members who are currently TTC or waiting to try. Posts about positive pregnancy tests and pregnancy are not allowed in this thread.

The "Weekly Results and Limbo Thread" thread is for members to announce their results of TTC for the week (including negative and positive results). Users in early pregnancy or in pregnancy limbo may post about those things here, too.

The Victories and Lifehacks thread is a weekly thread on Mondays to share our successes from the previous week and to cheer each other on.

The Repeat Pregnancy Loss thread is a weekly thread on Tuesdays for members dealing with RPL to gather for support, and to share discussion of diagnosis and treatment.

The Waiting To Try thread is a weekly thread on Wednesdays for members who are specifically WTT (or waiting to decide if they are ever trying again).

The Grief and Memorial thread is a weekly support thread on Thursdays for everyone who has ever had a pregnancy or infant loss, regardless of whether they are ever going to TTC again.

The Ask an Alumni thread is a weekly thread on Fridays for WTT and TTC members to ask Alumni members questions about pregnancy after loss and beyond.

The Alumni Check In thread is a weekly thread on Fridays for our Alumni (either pregnant or those with rainbow babies) to give an update without TTCALers having to venture elsewhere. You may also read up on them in r/PregnancyAfterLoss or r/Rainbow_Babies.

Rules:

  1. BE NICE. Trolling, name-calling, disrespect, and judgement will not be tolerated and you will be banned. If you see something inappropriate, PLEASE click "report"! Your report is anonymous and alerts the mods to look into it.

  2. Trigger warnings are optional but if your post contains specific details of your loss or other content that may be especially upsetting, we recommend that you put the type of loss or other content in your title. An example would be [Stillbirth] typed at the end of your title, or [Trigger Warning - Sister's Baby Shower].

  3. NO direct links to images or videos, especially BFPs (positive pregnancy tests) - they must be contained within a text post/comment. Our settings also consider links to Vlogs/etc as Spam. Please interact with the community more and share these links only within other posts, as part of conversation.

  4. Please keep discussion of current pregnancies in the Weekly Results and Limbo Thread. This sub's main purpose is for discussion of TTC and pregnancy loss so self posts about subsequent ("rainbow") pregnancies can be upsetting to members who are still trying. If you are currently pregnant but worried, or going through a questionable loss, the Results thread is still the place for you.

  5. User Flair rules: Use this space to share context regarding your TTC journey - how long you've been trying, if you're trying for #1/#2/etc, and what losses/when you experienced them. Please do not include mention of a current pregnancy. You may mention your living children, but please do so in a sensitive manner (examples: "2LCs" or "LC 3/2015").

  6. Use of the phrases "baby dust" and "sticky" (i.e. "sticky baby dust") is strongly discouraged on this sub.

  7. Success stories are allowed ONLY when requested by non-pregnant members. But r/Pregnancyafterloss is a much better place to solicit success stories. Generally, only share success stories if the OP specifically asks for them, or in the Ask an Alumni or RPL threads when relevant. Please do not solicit success stories in the daily discussion threads or in someone else's thread. Spoiler tags and specific trigger flair are always appreciated.

  8. Standalone posts must be Mod-approved

A note about termination: please avoid using the "A" word on this sub when referring to terminating a pregnancy. Unfortunately there are trolls on Reddit who search for that term and harass people talking about it. You may use abort!on, termination, etc.

Daily Discussion Thread - May 01, 2024

How are you doing today? What's new?

We want to foster a sense of community, which is why we have a centralized place for most daily conversation. This allows users to post and get replies, but also encourages them to reply to others in the same thread. We want you to receive help and be there for others at the same time, if possible. Most questions should go here, along with regular updates. Thanks for helping us create a great community!

Off-topic discussion is allowed :)

Note: Please refrain from discussing positive tests (and beyond) in this thread - those topics are better suited for the Weekly Results thread or the new sub for Alumni. Thank you!

/ttcafterloss Weekly Results and Limbo Thread

This thread is for users to announce their results (positive or negative) of TTC this week. It is also an area for those in early pregnancy or pregnancy limbo to post (prior to/instead of moving to r/PregnancyAfterLoss). Please try to use spoiler tags (spoiler tags: > ! text goes here ! < without the spaces) when discussing pregnancy beyond positive test results.

This thread will be posted every Monday and remain stickied for the week, so you can post any day of the week.

Please share positive pregnancy tests (BFPs) ONLY in this thread. Do not make a separate self-post about a BFP/subsequent pregnancy or post about it in the TTC daily thread.

The purpose of this weekly post is so users can easily get an update on others' results. Also, as our Alumni move on to r/PregnancyAfterLoss, you can know who may be moving and keep track of them if you wish.
