Trail running around Mcr

Hi, looking for nice place for trail running with elevation around manchester, accessible by train. Was looking for Mam Tor maybe, but don’t know if it’s too crowded to trail run it without zigzagging between a bunch of people, any other recommendations?

Already did Blackstone Edge in Littleborough (~500m of elevation)

Thanks in advance!

People who've been to both, which is better, Sea Life in Trafford or Blue Planet Aquarium in Chester?

Google reviews are very close, but I expect a lot of people have only visited one and thought it was great. Wondering how they actually compare. Would like to take the little one soon.

Manchester airport flight change. Is 2 hours enough?

Hey guys. Flying to Manchester airport T3 from Ireland and then off from same Terminal to Copenhagen. I have 2 hours gap between plane landing and next taking off. Is it enough to wait for my bags, go out, check them in again and pass security?

Confused by tram disruption today

Hi everyone, I’m new to Manchester and planning to get the tram from deansgate-castlefield or St Peter’s square to Altincham today.

I saw on bee network website there is disruption, it doesn’t specify these stops but the warning comes up when I search them so I’m just a bit confused.

Anyone know if it’s possible for me to go this route today?

Bee network rant

Does anyone else find it really frustrating that the ‘monthly’ tram tickets you can buy only run for 28 days.

I get paid on the last working day of every month and I’m finding the tram tickets will run out a few days before I get paid and I have to start buying day passes because until I get paid again because funds are always low.

Parking O2 Victoria Warehouse

Going to a gig in a few weeks and not sure where to park. From google maps lots of the local car parks seems to be for Old Trafford or the local hotels. I was thinking maybe the car park at Salford Quays tram stop?

Hi everyone, I will be visiting UK for 2 weeks and have a ticket for Nov 28 game 8pm kickoff. However I have to travel from Gaydon to Manchester and will be able to leave by 4 30 pm the earliest. I was hoping if someone is travelling from near that area like Coventry or something, we could share a ride. Please DM me if someone is willing to share the ride. Thanks!

places to help my mama get her groove back?? 🩷🩷

alright lads, bit of a sappy one but bare with me because it leads to a very pressing question.

long story short, my lovely and amazing 50 year old mother was a punk rocker in her teen years and a hippie for the rest of her life after that, until about ten years ago. after cancer, two heart attacks and 4 broken ribs, she has completely lost herself. we had a really emo phonecall tonight where she expressed how she wishes she could be her old self again but she doesn’t know how, or what is stopping her. i basically yelled at her to say screw it and start being her crazy unique self again and we’re going on a little adventure next weekend to thrift her some new clothes (in her own words - “i’m sick of sad old lady cardigans i wanna wear bright red suits and have crazy red hair again”) 😭😭

she’s so damn cool and hilarious, and i’m really excited to help her get back to the best most authentic version of herself. so, i was wondering if anyone has any suggestions and recommendations for shops in town that would appeal to a crazy 50 year old punk-hippie lady? or just any alternative thrift shops?

much love. sorry for the long one. hope ur all having lovely evenings x

Train disruption - what is going on?

Most trains out of Piccadilly cancelled. Been like this for hours, some places saying due to a ‘trespasser’

Any better info? Likely a problem tomorrow?

update: my phone got stolen

this incident was back in august when my phone got stolen by two kids. i’m just explaining an old incident that happened around market street.

now i have a new phone now and the police didn’t really help. but i do wonder if those 2 kids, who seemed to be pick pockets, have done something similar to others. i haven’t gone back to that area in months and still scared to

of them begging for money and show a picture of an infant disfigured. one of the people had a ripped coat and the other was wearing a headscarf, a boy, girl duo.

i hope it doesn’t happen to anyone else, i do wonder if anyone else has dealt with those 2 people before. just thought i would update here

What's going on in Manchester today?

I'm (M27) in Manchester over the weekend by myself and looking for something to do during the day and night! Anything interesting going on? Already visited the art gallery and the football museum.

If anyone is interested in grabbing a pint or having an easy going bloke join a hang out, hit me up! Cheers.

Gyms/studios to get back into lifting weights!

Hey all - I’m a lady looking to get back into some strength training in the city center and I was curious if anyone had some recommendations for studios or gyms?

It’s been a couple years since I’ve properly trained so I’m looking for a supportive space that doesn’t feel too intimidating!

Trendy spots in town

56 year old Salford mum who’s no longer cool here. I’m new to this website by the way so be nice!

Now Christmas is coming up in a mum to 2 lads 18 and 23.

I want to get them a restaurant gift voucher each so they can go somewhere trendy and bond as siblings a bit more whilst my youngest is home. Youngest went down south for uni September and they’ve drifted a bit.

Where is a fun spot I could get them gift vouchers for that they’d have a good time with the atmosphere but also feel cool to be there?

Will be a nice feeling if they can enjoy some good food and a drink or two somewhere cool and have a nice time.

Bus lane Oxford road

Can anybody tell me if there is a bus lane on the road outside the palace theatre? Just got a pcn for an ‘alleged bus lane contravention’ but on the (very poor quality image) there doesn’t look like there is a bus lane. Checked on google maps and there doesn’t look like there is a bus lane ( images from July 24)
