I’m not aware of any advertising for rugby games would like to support our team
Hi guys, I have a sister who is currently doing a foundation year in Human Biology and Infectious Diseases. She feels very lonely at uni and I do my best to help her by letting her hang out with my friends but she wants to progress by making her own friends but it's been extremely difficult for her. If you're on the same boat as her or want to be friends with her, please reply to this. (Btw she likes to watch anime, manga, and plays games like genshin impact!)
Has anyone stayed in iQ student flats? My mates and I are about to put down a deposit for a few rooms in the same flat. Can anyone tell me anything about it? Things that aren’t on the website or advertised around.
I'm in my first year and I've been going through a rough patch. Having some family issues and was thinking about maybe trying to find some way to get support or even someone to listen to me talk about what's been going on. I've never had any counselling or therapy (although I probably shouldve done), kinda uncomftable with the thought of having to open up about issues but I know it'd probably help. So can anyone tell me if the counselling provided at uni is any good?
I am looking to pursue a program in Acoustics at Salford (Masters). I'm curious about the prospects of doing the course and to get better guidance from an Alumnus.
Has anyone done this course?
Hi everyone, I’m Louise, I’ve been offered a place at Salford Uni for Law with professional year and Law. I love the idea of doing a placement year but I’ve been told by a friend that one of their friends had a bad experience with Salford’s placements, that they were unpaid and got no support in finding one. Who ever is doing placements/ a placement year, please can you let me know what your experience has been like, Thankyou ☺️☺️

Hey!!
Can someone guide me whats the current employment status in Manchester/Salford/Greater Manchester
Are part-time or full -time jobs available?
I am talking about management roles.I am a prospective student and planning to start my studies this September.
Please guide.
Hello there, I applied to the masters program in aerospace engineering and got a conditional offer. I am now scared that due to covid travel restrictions are going to be put in place by my country and I will not be able to leave to attend the classes. My question is does Salford university plan on holding hybrid classes (online and in class) for those who are facing hardship during this time? I really want to take part in this program.
The Current status on face-to-face teaching
So that's where we currently are folks: all face-to-face teaching for foundation year, undergraduates, and post-graduate taught students is cancelled for the time being. The official suspension is set to last until the 22nd May.
Post-graduate researchers are expected to keep on working independently.
The State of Online Learning
Most teaching will be moved into your online learning environment (Blackboard), so make sure to check that. Your module lecturers and seminar leaders will be keeping you updated on this. Most learning isn't set up for an online-only approach, so this might take some time and periods of adjustment.
Furthermore, as of yesterday, all university buildings are closed, this includes the library. However, the library has announced it is putting more services online, and indeed a lot of resources should already be available to you via the Library and blackboard. The Library website is ofc https://www.salford.ac.uk/library
In addition,a number of online services have also put some learning resources online for free:
Cambridge University Core has put 700 textbooks online for free.
ProjectMuse, a group of University publishers (9-major US ones), have put all their texts online for free until the end of June.
Finally, your university login is already extremely powerful in regards to accessing online content. When looking at journal articles, you can use institutional login or Shibboleth.
What About my Assessments?
Students should receive arrangements for their assessment by Friday 20th March 2020. Sorry I don't have any further information for you...
Keeping up-to-date
The university has a Sharepoint website that you can access here. This has all the latest statements for students, FAQs, information for Tier 4 Students, and Gov/NHS advice.
All in all, it seems that keeping an eye on your university email is the best bet forward for further information as it comes in.
If your subject group has a Facebook page (Like we do for Politics & Contemporary History), you should join that.
Keeping Sane
This whole isolation thing kinda sucks, it's a bit boring. Sadly, sustained self-isolation also has a negative impact on mental health. So make sure you're pro-active in keeping in touch with people, staying active, and keep your brain active!
Finally, while the subreddit here is only small, if you have any problems, I'm sure people will try to help!
^Just ^a ^quick ^note, ^while ^I ^am ^a ^Hourly ^Paid ^Lecturer ^at ^the ^uni, ^this ^isn't ^an ^official ^post ^on ^behalf ^of ^the ^University ^of ^Salford! ^I'm ^speaking ^as ^a ^former ^undergraduate ^student, ^and ^someone ^who ^did ^their ^PhD ^here ^too!
I got an unconditional offer from Salford and im wondering how it really is, their marketing obviously paints one picture but i want to know if there is anything else i should be aware of.
Im planning to study business management if that helps.
Refusal letter was written in a very impolite literacy and totally irrelevant. All documents were perfect and according to the requirements of the embassy but the officer has interpreted and even changed my answer to come to this conclusion that I am not honest and all of my career documents are fake! It was an irresponsible attitude that made me totally disappointed about the plan I had. I could never imagine a student visa application may be refused due to personal and mistaken judgment of an officer.
Anyone studying Marine Biology with a foundation year or an is an undergraduate living in Bramall Court?
Hi.
Im a Masters student at University of Salford, I am looking for a studio or 2/3 bed flat. Budget is £150 a week preferably nearby the university main campus, also I'm looking for a 6-9 months contract. happy to buddy up with someone to get a place.
Though a situation of happenstance I've had to apply for Salford University via clearing even though they where my insurance choice and I had an unconditional. So now I have no guaranteed campus accommodation and I have to either apply for accommodation off campus or hope somebody cancels. So from people who go to the uni what is the liklihood that a peel Park room opens up?
I'm going in Sept for a year in Performing arts - coming from Canada. but the reviews on all the student housing is saying most places are horrible. Any guidance on what's good / bad and real?
You looking to move closer to your friends or just fed up with your current accommodation?
My room is now available for a new tenant to move in as soon as possible. The flat is shared with 4 other welcoming Students.
Please E-mail me at iFloox@live.co.uk if you are intersted.
