Will anyone take a broken (I don't think very broken) hoover?

Long story short, I'm tidying up & have a vacuum cleaner that stopped sucking. Googled a few things, tried a few things, still not working, bought a new one. Was about to fling the broken one in the boot and take it down the tip, but if there is anyone who can do anything useful with it, let me know and I'll drive it over.

Preferably there would be some legend living in the shadows who could fix it up for a charity shop or charity who would help a low-income family, if that's you I'll run it round to you for free; failing that if you're someone who takes broken things, fixes them and flips them, all good, throw me a fiver for petrol and its yours.

Lark Lane Recommendations

Hi everyone! I'm turning 24 in a couple of weeks and I'm looking for some recommendations on Lark Lane for brunch with my boyfriend. I'm not vegan nor vegetarian, I'm a woman and I'm into these "cute/hippie" kind of coffee shops. Especially if they have salty breakfasts like avocado toasts. I know I sound basic af, and that's kind of what I'm looking for but have zero knowledge since I'm new in the city. I also like interior spaces that transmit calmness, for example, restaurants with red or orange walls make me very anxious.

How is it living at Vale Lodge, Rice Lane?

I am moving to Liverpool and thinking of buying a property. Found a lovely one at Vale Lodge, Rice Lane, I am just worried about the area?

Anyone who has experience living there?

I work city centre, but can't afford a property there. However, I do enjoy my space and my peace away from City Centre and only going to the office once a week.

As a single woman, would you live there?

Places enjoy a cigar (and some whisky perhaps) in Liverpool?

Ive got 2 very good cubans I bought as a little splurge when I was up in Edinburgh a few weeks ago. I know cigars need to be enjoyed fresh so I'm eager to smoke em, but I dont want to do so at home as the smell of smoke will linger for ages in the room (im not a smoker). They're in a sealed bag with a bodega pack so they should still be good for a few weeks..

I'm aware of the Puffin Rooms Cigar/Jazz Club but I asked them and you can only smoke cigars purchased there.

Just wondered if anyone was aware of anywhere in Liverpool these could be enjoyed with a nice drink / comfy seat?

Live music pub tonight

I’m visiting Liverpool for the weekend for the Bob Dylan concert and am wondering what live music pubs would be recommended for tonight. We’re having dinner beforehand and think about heading to a pub around 9pm.

Thank you Liverpool

Thankyou Liverpool for giving me a lifetime memory. No matter what happens, I'll remember Liverpool by this very video. This is the essence of this beautiful city.

The fact that people of Liverpool are embracing and welcoming a different culture with open arms. Making diwali special for all of us who are away from home and our families. That just truly means alot.

Thankyou for making this Diwali so special for me , this will always have a special place in my heart.

Bringing my Dad to Liverpool for his birthday – any tips for a memorable weekend?

Hey Liverpool!

I’m coming over in two weeks with my dad for a weekend trip to celebrate his birthday, and I’d love some advice to make it as memorable as possible. We’re coming from Rotterdam – lifelong season ticket holders at Feyenoord – but we’ve always had a soft spot for Liverpool in the PL. We’ll be at the Liverpool vs. Aston Villa match, which we’re both hyped for, especially now with Arne Slot in town!

I’d love any recommendations for a good bar with a lively pre-match vibe – somewhere we can grab a pint, chat with some locals, and soak up the matchday atmosphere before heading to Anfield. If there’s a spot that has that classic Liverpool energy, please let me know!

Also, are there any (surprising) activities, bars, or venues that you'd recommend? I was thinking of a beer or gin tasting, but happy to hear any other ideas. Outside of the match, we’re doing the Anfield tour and hitting up the Beatles Museum (my dad’s a massive Beatles fan). Are there any other must-do activities or hidden gems around the city?

Thanks so much in advance! Looking forward to finally being in Liverpool and making this a weekend to remember with my dad!

Filmmaking

I'm looking for people that are interested in making films or videos. Give me a shout. I love making things that are absurd, or scary, or have a really funny story. I like writing storys and songs, and sometimes the two things combine, I'm interested in not being lazy, making things even though there isnt enough time in life. If this sounds like the the sort of thing you would like to do, then get in touch. Lets make some shit. I have a fair amount of experience in writing, editing and VFX. Dont claim to be an expert in any of em though.

Electrician apprentice roles for an old lad

I have the opportunity to get into education with the goal to become an electrician, main problem is that's going to be mostly through online/remote classes and exams.

I would be able to find a few hundred hours worth of real world experience at the end of the 2 years course, however I would like to know, are there any places where I could ask for something like an apprentice role?

I'm not a young lad anymore( mid 30s) and I'm just looking for a change in my life.

Just asking if it is feasible at all.

Thank you all for your responses.

Best place for singles?

Hey. I'm a woman in my mid 20s. I'm ready to finally meet someone and want to avoid the apps. I'd rather meet someone naturally. Any tips on where I can start? Like, is their any single bars or meet ups..?

Good pubs that don't show the footy

Got some mates visiting from Manchester in a couple of weeks. We meet up regularly, 2 men and two women, former work colleagues, we like a few drinks and a catch up. Trouble is, with Liverpool and Manchester United will be on telly that afternoon, wanted to take them to the Big House but not if the footy is on. Any recommendations?

My dress

Hi all. I don't really know where to go regarding this so here I am. I bought this gorgeous dress a few months ago but I'd like it to be turned into a jumpsuit and taken up a few inches as it pools at my feet as I'm a short ass. Can someone tell me where to go for this and roughly how much it may cost? I'd try it myself but I'd probs ruin it 🤦‍♀️

Places similar to Roxys, Boom Battle Bar?

I'm planning a stag do for my friend in Liverpool - I know that what we want is a fun activity like pool, AR/VR darts, mini golf, crazy pool, bowling, table tennis, that sort of pub/bar game vibe but maybe even with a quirky twist (e.g. what Flight Club is to darts)

We're looking at places like Roxys or Boom Battle Bar but is there anything in Liverpool that's maybe a bit more off the beaten track and on the more unusual side? We of course want to make it as memorable as possible so would be amazing to find something that feels quite unique and less like a chain.

Thanks!
