I'm coming to Manchester as an exchange student for the spring term and haven't yet gotten my approval for accomodations yet, but I was just planning out when I would need to buy plane tickets and for what dates. Any idea when the move in times are for spring?
Hi there :)
I got something cool to share with you, over the past few months i have been running around trying to find a way to make a dream come true
Im creating a online hub for students in tech / Ai that care about technological innovation and having a positive impact by building and contributing on projects
This is hub will be a place to find like minded people to connect with and work on passion projects with.
Currently we are coding a platform so that everyone can find each other and get to know each other
After we got some initial users we will start with short builder programs where individuals and teams can compete in a online competition where the projects that stand out the most can earn some prize :)
Our goal is to make the world a better place by helping others to do the same
If you like our initiative, please sign up below !
And in some weeks, once we're ready we will send you a invite to join our platform :)
Hi, I have gotten an offer from Manchester for their economics and finance program. How is their econ and finance department? also its faculty, internship opportunities and graduate prospects? Would it be worth it to choose Manchester?

Hi! I've applied for 2025 entry into Biomedical Sciences with a modern foreign language. Just wondering if anyone does the course, if so how are you finding it and what are the positive and negatives to help me narrow down my #1 uni :).
If I go it would be for chinese becasue I don't have a language A level (although I took German at GCSE and a bit of Alevel and am around B1).What are your thoughts on starting as a beginner in a language course
🫶🫶 Thanks!!
TL;DR: Request for Recommendations on Elective Consultants in General Medicine at MRI
Hey fellas, I'm currently studying medicine on the Gold Coast, Australia, and I'm planning to complete my final year elective at MRI. Initially, I was interested in the ED, but I've been informed that they do not accept elective students.
So I'm now considering Internal Medicine or Acute Care. I would appreciate any recommendations for consultants in General Medicine who are enthusiastic about teaching and would be a good fit for my elective. Thanks
Anyone studying at UoM wants to go skating on weekends? Im basically down for every weekend at altrincham ice rink or sometimes going watching manc storm home games.
Also, I’m a first yr student and planning to create an ice skating society. However it requires at least 3 ppl. So if you can skate (not rly at beginner level) and are interested, please let me know.
For the MBA
So I'm a current master’s student at the business school.
For years I've been listening to his talks online and his podcasts and in general am a huge fan of his work.
I really want to be able to attend some sort of seminar he holds at least once before my academic period concludes.
Is there anyway I can do it? Since I'm an AMBS student I don't even get any email or something if he is having an open session, like he did a few weeks back.
Can someone please guide me? Maybe an email of some department which can help me?
I’m moving out of my room, so tenancy is available. PM for more info. Tenancy available whenever and ends June30.
Have been waiting in the Rutherford lecture theatre waiting for this lecture to start. Information on events page on website says I'm in the right place at the right time. Does anyone know anything to say otherwise? Any help is appreciated, I have travelled specifically for this event.
Hi, I have an offer for manchester liberal arts and im starting to think about which uni I want to Firm. I'm a bit confused about the nature of the 3rd year dissertation-type modules. In the open day they mentioned there was a lot about social responsibility, and although I obviously care about this idk if I want this to be my dissertation/I might want a bit more flexibility? Could anyone please explain what the 3rd year options are actually like because the website is really confusing! Also is it difficult when joining modules in other subjects because obviously the rest of the people in that module will be doing that subject full time, so is it hard to keep up/match everyone else in quality? If anyone could offer any extra info, their experiences (good or bad) that would be welcome too!! Thanks so much!
Hello I wanted to know are there spanish speakers in the university who can help me practice spanish?

I accidentally left my bad in the picadilly line on the way from Heathrow to my station. It has been 24 hours. It has very valuable stuff. What should I do?
Ground floor is closed off, entrances are padlocked and there are security guards everywhere. Had to go through Jean McFarlane to get to tutorial on a higher floor
So Im 16, in Year 12 and studying A Level Maths Physics and Chemistry. I really want to go to Uni of Manchester to study Maths with Physics and my GF wants to go to MMU and study Graphic Design. She would be eligible for between £6753 and £8000 in maintenance loans and I would be eligible for £10227 (as of now unless the gov changes it). We really want to live together however we have 2 issues.
The first issue is that her parents said that since we live in Manchester they "wouldnt let her move out" as its lots of money and a waste of time. The second issue is UoM doesn't offer any couples rooms. I'm unsure if MMU does as I cant find anything on the website saying yes or no.
We have been together for 2 years and by time we start uni we would have been together for 4 years, we rarely argue and when we do we solve it very quickly, we have never broken up or thought about going on a break and we really do love each other and we are certain that we wont break up for any reason. I know people say that often but ig you would just have to trust me that I mean it lol.
What would you guys suggest about living together. Such as where to live, should we go private? How much ETC.
