I get it. I also hate duty tabs with a passion, for several reasons. That being said, I understand the need — or at least desire — for recognition, identification, and espirit de corps.
Occupational badges should be a source of pride. Not a silver/brown blob. While I’m highly critical of the Department of the Navy, the USN (and to much lesser extent, the USMC) does badges right. They’re unique, people are interested in one another’s insignia, etc.

Anyone in here done this? Do you have to complete Air Force contract in full before you can switch? Thinking about making the switch and wondering if anyone has experience or when it’s even possible.
Me and my wife are mil to mil, we recently had a child, and I know she is able to get out if she chooses because of this, but do I have the same option as the father?
I’m new to the military. Are all these changes typical to the beginning of the year or is this more to do with new leadership in office (I’m assuming the latter). Is it typical for things to get tight over every change of hands and then loosen over time?
How do AFSCs like personnel and aviation resource management in the Air Force show leadership to top MBA programs’ applications?
With all these changes coming down fast and furiously, I am curious what our Jr Airmen, SNCOs and Officers are thinking currently.
I get out in January of 2026 but would like to extend to get out January of 2028 to reach the 6 year mark. (I joined in 2022 and have a 4 year contract) From my understanding personal reasons can only get you an extension of 12 months. Is there a way I can extend 2 years to get to the 6 year TOS mark so I can pass my G.I. Bill to my child?? Or would that be considered personal reasons?
Do you get the negativite sentiment similar to police officers? Do people view you as more intelligent compared to soldiers? What's been your experience

We all know
Can anyone help me find some milsurp pants to match this shirt my dad gave from his time in the airforce? He served from 1980 to 1988
What? You gonna write me up?
My wife decided to have us be in an open relationship and planned with said BF to join the Air Force so she could then have the benefits for her and our 3 children. She has made it seem as though I'm a horrible person, but I have done everything possible to make her and our 3 little ones safe and happy. Her BF and her made an agreement with me that if there was any problems in her and my relationship that they would stop dating and her and I would go to counseling. But, instead they planned on her divorcing me so he could marry her, he told me this himself. Is there anything I can do?
Just submitted my paperwork to go from reserves to AD…anybody else do this and how long did it take from time of submission to get a decision? (Not orders but just the eligibility determination that I’m good to be further processed/wait for a slot)
I just got approval to retrain into this career field. I've looked over the doctrine but I was hoping someone on here could give me a more of an insight of your day to day, deployments, how it translates into the civilian world, etc. I was looking on AMS for base options but it doesn't seem accurate.
It's February 1st :(
End of contract is April 2026. Planning to go Reserves back in IL Scott AFB. Will need to cross train into HVAC or structures. Currently maintenance in Minot ND.
Looking to take advantage of learning opportunities etc that I can do or enroll in before I move home.
Hopefully I can learn from other’s mistakes or make the same that I will regret later.
Hope to hear any advice. Thank you!
Hello everyone, I am a military spouse and I need some guidance. My husband and I have been married for 8 years. We have been separated for almost a year. I’m currently in Utah because our last assignment was Hill but he’s currently at Luke AFB. I found out about 6 years into our marriage he had been having an affair with a girl who worked under him. The affair lasted 4 years. I stayed and he promised to be better but the next two years I caught him 2 more times talking to the same woman and then the last time I caught him talking to a new woman who is also in the military but she was the same rank as him. He decided that he no longer wanted to make it work between us so I moved out with our 5 year old daughter. I originally told him I wouldn’t tell the military but I am really struggling. I still have access to our joint account and use it when I really need to with groceries for my daughter but he doesn’t like it when I do that. I work doubles as a server pretty much every week as well as working almost everyday and I barely make $2000 a month and my rent is $1800. I’m really struggling to provide for my daughter. He gets paid almost $8000 a month and I right now he pays for her school which is $1200. I know it’s pretty steep for her tuition but she goes to a really good school and that’s what I needed for her as I was going to be a stay at home mom and homeschool and this was the one condition I had. I just finished my school to get my real estate license but I still need to get certified but it’s a career that doesn’t have a steady income and I’m so worried. I need to move forward with the divorce and I need some help because I don’t even know where to begin. If I seek legal advice, I have to pay for it which I don’t have the money right now to do so. Do I tell the military what he’s done? I have proof of the messages. He saw her on work trips, right before I was going to deliver our daughter, and they are both in the military. Sometimes I feel like he was the one to do this to our family but yet, I am the only one suffering the consequences of his actions.
Diagnosed with MDD. What if meds never help? What medications are disqualifying?
After you receive your DD Form 4 and DAF form 901 for reenlisting, what am I supposed to do other than reviewing it. For whatever reason anyone who's reenlisted has forgotten and being that it's the weekend I can't ask CSS. I'm supposed to reenlist this Tuesday but just got done with a 2-week exercise, so I am just now seeing this.
Hello I am an A1C with a little over a year in service and am asking what is the likelihood or me getting separated if I seek treatment for suspected ADHD? The other post I saw which has decent answers was about people who have been in for awhile and have an established career, so not exactly pertaining to me. I just want any input on this as I've heard it's grounds for admin sep so which I do not want. Thank you in advance.
