For the techs that have gotten out. What are some VA Claims that we don't think about that are associated with being EOD? In the process of getting out after 12 years š
I submitted a packet at the same time I was PCSing from Korea. Got to my next duty station and found out I have to be at my new station for 1 year before I can PCS for school. Has anyone ever gotten an ETP to get an earlier class date?
Has anyone gone through something like this? I got a PI in August and finished up everything that the court ordered and got the case dismissed. I went through pushing my ship date a few times to get waiver and to finish probation and then I got my official ship date for April 9th. I just got a call from this random number on conference call with my recruiter and they said that because my public intox wonāt let me get the top level security clearance that EOD needs, it is unavailable to me. They keep pushing me to go SERE but I was absolutely set on AF EOD. Is it official not an option? My recruiter said he will call me tomorrow. Iām going to ask what my waiver was for if I donāt get the job and if there is a waiting period to be further away from the court date so I can still go EOD. Any other questions I should ask? It was all rather confusing.
I came into the Air Force in 2013 with a college degree and graduated from EOD School in 2014. I submitted my transcripts and tried to get a CCAF in 2015 and was told that I needed ALS but I had everything else I needed for it. I completed ALS in 2019, then Covid, then CCAF was down for like a yearā¦but anyway I went and talked to them this week to finally get this stupid degree and was told that āI need the EOD Craftsman Team Course certificate to get the degree and that in 2021 they redid requirements and the year I went to EOD school wouldnāt count towards itā
Does this sound right? What exactly is the āEOD Craftsman Team Courseā?

Key Requirements
Major Duties :
I recently graduated from BOLC and am a member of the Army National Guard. I am an Ordnance Officer, but still really have a strong interest in pursuing a career path in EOD. Any other Guard Officers make this switch, how was it?
Wondering what E5 slots are looking like at Fort Carson and Fort Stewartā¦ putting dream sheet in tomorrow. I also know that itās rare to get what you actually wantā¦ but just wanting to put 2 places I want incase šš»
Long story short.Im a 21 year old E4 in Active Duty Army @ Ft.Cavazos ("THe GReaT PlaCE").Im also a practicing Sikh with a Religous Exemption for my beard and turban.Would me having a Religous Exemption for these 2 articles of faith be a issue during my endeavor to become a 89D? If so why? Thanks in advance. I'll take a Mcflurry and some slimy ass dfac eggs.
As an MOS-T (army) guy coming into the school. Iām trying to get an understanding of the balance of life and school while in the pipeline. Obviously IET joes are gonna have more restrictions but I was just curious what itās like for MOS-T.
I'm in a suspense writing class for college. For an upcoming assignment, I wrote a short story with a focus on bomb disposal. I have no background in EOD, but I try to make my writing as authentic as possible... or at least make it not sound like it's written by an idiot.
Would anyone here be open to reading the story's draft and giving me feedback? It's 7370 words. I'm trying to keep the story entertaining and in line with the class requirements (spy thriller style, two people in room, etc.), but also not making the story too Hollywood, if that makes sense. There's no "cut the red wire," or anything like that.
I need to know if anything jumps out as blatantly wrong. There's probably something, it's a first draft after all, but I don't know what since I'm not versed in EOD. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
If anyone is interested, please let me know and I can PM a link to the story on google docs or email it as a word doc. Thanks.
I am going active duty from the guard. Iām gonna give the EOD pipeline a shot. Obviously Iām not planning on failing out but obviously itās the army. Iām currently an MP. I was wondering if I fail out could I just skip going to another AIT and just go back to FORSCOM and be an MP?
Anyone who has recently graduated or is currently at phase 2 who was/is IET from the army please let me know if you would be willing to answer some questions about things like privileges at Eglin, family situation once you are there, and hold times.
Airman wanting to cross train into EOD. Does EOD still fall under one of the career fields where FTA are allowed to cross train at 24 months TIS. The most recent memo Iāve found is from 2022, which did not include EOD. But Iāve heard of people cross training into EOD using this policy. Thanks in advance.

Need rocket fins for practice, we got turtlebacking in a screener coming up. I'm not sure how to size the fins/boots, and if there is a specific brand I should look at. Thanks
So, Iāve been in the Army about 6 years - Prior Enlisted MP, current Ordnance Officer. EOD has always interested me, but I never considered it a real option until now.
Does anyone have any similar experience? Advise? Maybe some information as to how I can approach EOD?
Iāve been looking for a mentor to sort of give me some insight as to what to expect, how to prepare, etc.
My biggest fear is going to school unprepared and failing. So, anything helps! Thank you all.
Met a guy telling me the reason he didnāt go EOD at army BOLC was because he didnāt pass the mental health screening because of a history of behavioral health issues. Is that a thing?
I recently conducted a screener and I was not recommended on the grounds that i would be committing ācareer suicideā coming from the 03 field with two adverse fitreps in grade. I have the opportunity of getting one removed because of lack of supporting documentation and I was recommended by some members that I should definitely try again at another unit and explain what had happened. I guess the final say bigwigs really didnāt take the adversities too kindly but most overall thought I had a shot. At this point Iām heavily considering the re-screen but wanted to ask the USMC EOD community the competitive nature of the MOS and would I really be risking the possibility of a 20+ year career for 5-6 years max of having possibly the greatest job I can ever have in the military.
For reference, both adverse fitreps happened within 6 months of each other, one happened at Sgtās course for failing ht/wt but still graduated and got my cert and successfully made tape the following week to go to CIS. No 6105.
Second one was because I worked under a platoon commander trying to make a name for himself and got me fired from my squad leader at the end of our deployment for cheesing myself and my squad out of PT one morning so he ran it up the flag pole.
I'm a CBRN 74D and currently on the fence about going EOD or just switching to NG. Been in 6 years, 3 duty stations, all non-chem units. Ive only ever been the additional duty, paper pusher with occasional gas chambers and equipment training with a bunch of joes that don't give af about M8 paper or a JCAD. Don't get me wrong, cbrn is a great technical mos, but the orderly room is not what I signed up for. I dont care if i have great NCOERs, or 'the best' training NCO, nor for the 6 others add duties im 'good at'...I really truly love cbrn but im done. I was expecting a job where I can nerd out and focus on the technicals of a specialized job. I've been doing some research and EOD sounds like heaven if i can make it through...but also a hellish abyss if I fail....
Anyway. I'm in germany with my spouse and kids wanting to reclass so what am I looking forward to? Where will my family be while I'm gone? Is it tdy enroute? What happens if I fail? Cbrn is always understrength so do I stay 74D if I fail out of EOD? Do I get a second chance as an MOS-T or is it really 1 and done? Hows branch and getting orders to somewhere I want if I graduate? Lastly...Is it even worth the trouble...? If it helps I really think EOD is a good choice for me. I got my Haz tech cert, working on my Bachelors in science. I did get some training doing site survey and initial entry.. so I'm not crazy risking it am I?
Putting my dream sheet in very soon, whatās the best duty station for training, and also have time with my family. Iām army!
Alright so Iām starting army EOD AIT on Monday at fort Gregg Adams and Iām just wondering on what itās going to be like because Iām a little intimidated as a pvt
