As the title suggests Iām looking for adult, slice of life shows which focus on young adults; similar to MTVās downtown. I love that show and it just left a hole in my heart knowing that thereās no 2nd season. So Iām looking for something similar.
Preferably with the same ambience/clothes :) And a girl having an important role ? Many thanks !! :)
Like 90s had friends 00s had how i met you mother 10s had New Girl
Does 20s have any show like this. Which deals with group of friends and relationships of current scenario?
Not sure about the hipster/nerd types part, but looking for shows like The Flight of the Conchords, The IT Crowd, and The Office that have that sort of awkward 2000s vibe. Specifically only looking for shows made in the 2000s. Thanks!
I've had this series on my watch list for a long time, I wish I had started it sooner (two episodes in, please no spoilers). It's a very well written thriller, that keeps you constantly engaged. Yet it has warmth and heart to it as well. It also reunites Joel Kinneman and Mireille Enos, from The Killing. Brilliant action sequences, some well written dark humor. You're never quite sure where it's going to take you next. Highly recommended!
Hi all, looking for something good to watch. no genre in particular, but i'm very picky with what i like and hoping someone could point me into the right direction.
some of my all time favourite shows are;
- Dead like me
- Community
- yellowjackets
-sweetpea
-pantheon (or anything animated of the sorts but i've seen alot, almost everything lol)
- ghosts (the american one sorry)
- kevin can f himself
- charmed (the original one)
- a series of unfortunate events
- the umbrella academy
- theres more (so much more) but i think these are definitely my top picks
and ofc the usuals like friends, the office, new girl but i'm not really that into those. i like weird off beat things that usually end up getting cancelled after 1 season (end of the fing world, i'm looking at you)
anything with magick or paranormal, don't care about gore or death. doesn't have to be either of those as long as its good, please help
thank you so so much in advance xx
i need a show to watch and i will watch literally anything. some of my favorites that ive already seen are: yellowjackets, fleabag, dexter, barry, the good place, breaking bad, beef, shameless, twd, and any other drama u can think of. i also looove animated comedies like south park and bobs burgers. any suggestions would be helpful :)
I have watched:
Presumed Innocent
Slow Horses
Silo
Defending Jacob
Bad Sisters
Hijack
Severance
DNFāed:
Trying
Shrinking
I have watched vampire diaries, friends, schitts creek, office, brooklyn 99, from, little thing. Like this I want some show i can go to at the end of the day which is easy yet great story. Please suggest.
I get super depressed in the winter months and am usually able to find a good show to look forward to watching every night to help me get through it. In the recent past the shows I've enjoyed for this are Peep Show, Detectorists, Superstore, Wilfred, Spaced, Single Drunk Female, Kingdom (the Korean zombie show), Katla, Fortitude, Black Mirror, Scavenger's Reign, Electric Dreams, Maniac, The Bates Motel, etc. I've watched a ton of shows and I don't want to rewatch ones I've already seen, looking for something new to engage with. I currently have HBO Max and none of those shows seem to be cutting it. I tried watching Severance and it didn't keep my interest. I've seen and loved Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. Saw Mr Robot and was disappointed with the ending. Watched Stranger Things (and most other Netflix shows) and lost interested after a few seasons. I don't like detective shows or procedurals or medical dramas. I don't like political or businessman shows. I've seen most of the sitcoms from the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s. Seen and loved Reservation Dogs, tried Dark Winds and lost interest because it's a detective show/police drama. Tried Pushing Daisies- don't like it- detective/mystery show. Enjoyed Transparent and Baskets. I know that's a lot, but I'm super picky and my tastes are all over the place.
Edit to add: also not a big fan of crime or mystery shows.
Anyone have recs for chill shows that are already complete with preferably 100+ episodes?
Iāve liked:
Shameless
Desperate Housewives
Downton Abbey
Gossip Girl
Parenthood
I like shows with plot and drama but not super serious so I can watch it while I cook, etc. Preferably more quality than Gossip Girl though lol
Looking for recommendations for true crime series that I might have missed. Iāve seen too many to list. Also, it is too late to get a dermatologist referral to Keith Morrison?
Dark
Chernobyl
Blackbird
Breaking Bad
Better Call Saul
Sopranos
Your Honor
Yellowstone
1883
1923
Landman
Not too much to ask right? š
Anyone have any suggestions for an easy watch, chill TV show with a splash of culture that takes you somewhere interesting? I'll admit I'm struggling to define exactly what I'm after, so it might be best to give an example.
Man vs food, I'm English and man vs food is played on some of those "oh man there must be nothing on, because you're so far down the list of channels" channels on TV.
Its been running for years now and on the rare occasion I turn it on, it reminds me of the warm feeling I got watching it when I was younger. The show travels round the US and focuses on local cooking styles and food challenges, but that's not what I loved about it, that's just sort of something to give it a purpose in the foreground. The actual enjoyment I got out of it came from the slice of culture (or something like that...) that I got from it. It just felt so different to English versions of the same thing. It's a bit intangible for me, because I can't explain why I don't feel the same way from the many modern versions of similar shows you can find on streaming platforms etc.
Just to clarify, the suggestions do not have to be food related.
I think if I was answering my own question based on this, is suggest Anthony bourdain's parts unknown, but I've just mentioned that. So any other suggestions would be very much appreciated :)
ive seen charmed, buffy, angel, smallville, roswell etc. is there anything ive missed out on? doesn't need to have fantasy or sci fi elements, i love dramas like the oc as well. thanks for any ideas!
I always see the same old big names on this subreddit so i want suggestions of shows I could like in the genre of my guilty pleasures: Primeval Sanctuary GRIMM La Brea Monarch LotM Terra Nova Carnival Row
Not sure how to phrase exactly what Iām looking for but: my partner and I have a lot of political anxiety right now and Iām looking for something for us to watch that falls under the āfaith in humanity/people can be generally good to each other/characters working together to make things betterā category.
Weāve already seen Avatar: the Last Airbender, Legend of Korra, The Good Place and Man on the Inside which all kind of fit what Iām looking for. Another favorite of mine is Good Omens for similar reasons, and my partner really likes Abbott Elementary.
We usually go for darker and grittier shows (The Sopranos, Breaking Bad, and Barry are some we liked a lot) but our usual vibe is starting to feel a little too heavy - we started The Curse a few days ago which I thought would be a good change because it seemed less violent but the āpeople are awfulā vibes are still there and itās just majorly bumming me out.
Any ideas? Weāre pretty open to any genre, but I donāt love the voice acting on a lot of anime.
Color me surprised when I watched this back in December? and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. Very fun watch. I liked the movie and am a big fan of Glover, so was always gonna check it out, but was only surprised at how good it was because it seems nobody on this sub ever mentions it. Definitely recommend to anyone who enjoyed the movie. Itās very different, but enjoyable in a similar way, if that makes sense.
I mainly consume reality television so I have a hard time finding something to watch with my partner. And for the most part I'm not a re-watcher. Please help, lol. Bonus for queer representation.
Some shows I like:
Insecure
Euphoria
Vida
Shrinking
The Morning Show
The Girlfriend Experience
Sex In The City
Handmaids Tale
White Lotus
The L Word
The Affair
Presumed Innocent
Your Honor
No Good Deed
Dead to Me
Suggestions on something that the wife and I would enjoy. Any suggestions, not just sports themed related, would be appreciated.
Hii! Recently Iāve watched Slow Horses and Bad Sisters and honestly theyāre one of the few tv shows (from recent shows) that I found good quality and pretty engaging! Based on this can you please suggest some shows ? Please no āmainstreamā shows
Thank you!!
Looking for a binge worthy show to stream. Below are some shows that I really enjoyed so you understand my taste.
Severance, Silo, The 3 Body Problem, True Blood, The Leftovers, Childhoods End.
I recently watched 3 episodes of Fringe and I'm already bored by it. I watched the 1st season of The Expanse and I didn't love it. These surprised me because I tend to really like sci-fi. I need something that can pull me in and hold my attention or else I get bored with it. Any suggestions?
Anyone seen this, if yes is it worth watching?
Please suggest murders, crime , whodunnit shows that are sort of chill like Bad Sisters, Why women kill.
I am very picky about what I watch and I feel like Iāve seen everything that I would like. Can anyone suggest anything similar to this list of shows Iām watching/have watchedā¦ I do have Netflix but never use it. I would love something with a few seasons since most of the shows below are only one episode a week.
-severance -shrinking -silo -doc -high potential -will trent -the pit -school spirits -ghosts -elsbeth -yellowjackets
