Soviet-era cartoon that displays the visual results of a child interpreting Russian idioms literally

For example, if the child heard the phrase "don't hang noodles on my ears" (a Russian idiom meaning "don't BS me" basically), the cartoon would then show their vision of a person with noodles literally hanging off of their ears. It's a charming cartoon, and it was fun for a Russian language learner too.

My memory of the cartoon is pretty fuzzy, but it's probably pretty old. I saw it once in the early 1990's but wouldn't be surprised if it's much older than that.

Russian detective TV show

I have been searching for a while but I can't find a show I used to watch when I was a kid. It was about this agency, I think, that solved crimes that the police didn't want to. Their cases all had some mystic part to it but it was always explained to have a reasonable answer. But it would have the very last scene of each episode have the mystic part as being true or something like that. One random scene that I can remember is that a girl wanted a tattoo but everyone tried to get her to not do it cause she didn't know the meaning of them. Eventually, she came back with what she thought was a real tattoo but was upset cause people were saying stuff to her but her friends had asked the tattoo artist to give her a temporary one so it was all good. Please help me find it.

Please help me find this show

There was a show on hulu about 5 years ago, i believe it was Japanese but maybe Korean. It was stop motion and was about superheroes living together. One character’s superhero name was wood man and i vaguely remember one not ever paying rent. It was hilarious to me at the time and i cant find evidence of its existence anymore.

The Mountain Detective - French Tv show

Anyone know where I can watch all 19 episodes?

I discovered it on Amazon Prime Video (via PBS Masterpiece Subscriotion). It is a French Detective Tv-Series, with English subtitles. I have

Amazon/PBS offered 9 episodes, and saw them all and very much liked - so would like to view the 10 other episodes. I have searched high + low looking for the 10 episodes not available via Amazon/PBS... but no luck. So thought would ask here.

Thanks!

need help finding the name of an asian anthology series

i don’t remember the name of this show but i watched three episodes of this show in 2021 (i think?) on netflix and went back to watch more less than a year later and it was gone… it was an anthology series from a country in asia but i’m not sure where exactly… i know for sure it wasn’t japan, korea, or china because i didn’t recognize the sound of the language at all or any of the writing on signs in the background

the first episode was about a guy getting stuck in a time loop after work (i don’t really remember this one)

the second one was one of the most striking episodes i’ve ever seen of anything, it’s about this woman in a white room who becomes obsessed with a tiny spot on her wall that eventually keeps growing as she gets more distressed

i don’t remember much about the third episode either cuz i was dozing off but i remember a tiger being involved…. i’ve googled the premises of these episodes and for whatever reason can’t find anything… i’m starting to think i hallucinated the whole thing

Is there any source of Portugal's "Sul" available for American viewers

It's a series from a few years bar, very much the Lusophonic version of a Scandi-noir type thriller. I saw one episode while in Lisbon, and there seems to be no way to get it in the US at all, and I can't even find a torrent for it (I'm happy to pay for a stream, but unless I decide to move to .pt and get HBO Portugal, there seems to be zero options)

Looking for Spanish miniseries

Hello, I can’t for the life of me remember the name of a mini series I watched or even what platform it was on. It’s Spanish (from Spain, not just Spanish language haha) during the pandemic and some of the episodes were: a woman introduces herself to her neighbor then finds out he’s a serial killer; another one there’s a teacher who mentors his student on how to kill people and the student eats pizza?? Thank you in advance 🥲🥲🥲

I'm searching for a tv show from a foreign country that I had watched a YT video years ago

Hello! I'm searching a tv show that I watches a video on yt YEARS AGO! It was definitely foreign. It reminded me a lot of Murdoch Mysteries and Bones. It was set in modern day, the actress had blonde hair and I think that they were working for the police or be police both of them. I remember from that clip video that they had a baby and possibly a dog.

I think it was procedural and it reminded me a lot "will they/won't they" trope.

I know it's a long shot but if anyone remembers or knows the show I will be eternaly grateful.

Trying to remember which show

I started watching this show/movie- unsure which but leaning towards show. It was on either Netflix or Prime but I have a feeling it was Prime. If was a foreign show about a semi retired writer whose husband is an actor and starts working with a young actress. The actress runs into (not coincidence) the wife and compliments her work saying she wanted to be a writer or director I forget which. I think she may have been stalking her not sure. I don’t have the rundown on what the movie/show is about overall though.

Disappointed with ending of Limbo

Hello, What do you think about the way the Swedish tv series Limbo ended? I had been waiting for it to be available in the US and I have to say the ending left a lot of loose ends. Maybe because there will be a second season? I hope so.

La Niña (2016) - Where to buy or download episodes?

Does anyone know where I can buy or download episodes of La Niña, the Columbian drama series produced by CMO Producciones and streaming on Netflix? I would like to own the series, preferably with English subtitles, but I haven't been able to find it anywhere other than streaming providers.

Here is the imdb link: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5677942/

Nine hundred Ninety Seven Down, Four to Go

Hi all.

I'm trying to complete watching all of the shows in the book 1001 TV Shows You Must Watch Before You Die. This follows a completion of 1000 Recordings to Hear Before You Die, and 1001 Movies You Must Watch Before You Die (yes, all the versions...). So I'm a bit of a completist.

I'm at the end of a four year project, and I only have four to go:

  1. Sue Vida Me Pertence (1951) Brazil, the country's first telenovella

  2. The Chinese Detective (1981) UK with David Yip

  3. Nummer 28 (1991) Holland, one of the first - if not the first - reality show.

  4. Borgia (2011) France (they also have The Borgias, with Jeremy Irons; this is the French language version.)

If anyone has any links of information where I could obtain these shows online or through libraries, I would greatly appreciate it.

Identify this k drama or movie

Need help identifying this k drama which I happened to see a recap of a long time ago. From what I can remember it’s about a guy who’s born as an heir to a car company and decides to work as an intern or an assistant of their rivals. The female heir and the male heir don’t get off to a good start as the female president is almost in a accident with the guy and becomes irritated. However over time she starts to develop feelings for the guy and only realizes the guy is the heir to their rival car after their parents and them are invited to eat together. The female President wants to marry the male heir and decides that they can form a cooperative relationship between their two companies if he accepts to marry her however he ends up declining as he’s already in love with another woman who comes from a normal household. This is about all I can remember and I’d appreciate it if someone could help me identify this k drama or movie.

Does anyone know this show from 2014?

There was this Spanish show released in 2014 called The Avatars. It was about 3 friends, J.P., Bo and Robbie who try to form a band but they are always refused by companies because they are 16, always hearing the phrase "Come back in 2 years". Luckily, Lou, J.P.'s sister, creates virtual avatars for them and makes animated music videos for the boys, so they can share their music online.

I have been looking for a way to watch the episodes of this show, or just listen to the songs, but I can't seem to find any episodes, and I can't find all of the songs, because one of them is missing. If anyone can find the episodes, please let me know. I would be grateful!
