A new medical drama on Peacock. I’m 3 episodes in and I’m impressed!
A lot of young new cast members and Noah Wyle 🤌🏼
Simple question - which of these two shows should I watch? If it's of any help my all time favorite is Castle
Brooklyn 99 is my comfort watch, and I can not recount how many times I have rewatched it over the years. Some of the episodes I have watched maybe more than 20 times! I absolutely love it!
HOWEVER... The volume of the intro is SO VERY LOUD ! It has been years since I started watching it, and now I have built the habit of skipping it if the remote is around me, but it still gets on my nerves if my the remote is not near me and I don't skip it lol. It's the one thing I hate about B99!
What is a thing you hate about Your favourite show? (outside of weaker episodes, arcs or seasons).
Hello, I am an AP research student seeking individuals who are 18+ and have watched the TV show Arcane to participate in a research survey on the colors and emotions of Arcane. My study aims to investigate how viewers of Arcane believe that the color usage in scenes, regarding lighting, makeup, and costumes has affected their emotional perception of the characters and emotional response to the scenes. Your insights will contribute to a deeper understanding of the effects that colors have had on viewers’ emotional perception and response. Take the survey at https://forms.office.com/r/FiwWftUVqw if you are interested! :)
I just finished watching this and was blown away. So if anyone's looking for a recommendation . . .
It's from 2017, and I know I checked it out a few times since then but didn't feel it was my type of show or just couldn't trust it was going to turn out well.
Finally decided to take the plunge and try it out a couple days ago. Was really afraid several times it would keep getting too seamy or needlessly spookily violent. But I persevered because there was always just enough of a golden thread to fuel my belief that a hero would emerge.
The last episode was dynamite. The whole series came together in such a satisfying way I just felt I had to say so somewhere.
The series won three prime-time emmies. There are way better and more beautiful reviews than this on IMDb's web page - reviews that elevate it to the level of art. I agree with those.
Give it a try if you're still looking for something and haven't already seen it. It plays like a 7-hour movie. (Seven hour-long episodes). Production values very high. Music is excellent. Acting is first-rate.
EDIT: I actually watched this some weeks ago- post was sitting in drafts & I didn't realize it.
my favorites include: bojack horseman, malcom in the middle, arcane, death note, banana fish, adventure time, jjba
*if required additional info to make more sensible recs don’t hesitate to ask questions pls
Looks to be a successor to Halt and Catch Fire.
Silicon Valley? Does Silicon Valley ring a bell? Will they go with the same title?
A couple of years ago I watched Carter with Jerry O'connell. It's no longer available to watch in my country and when I Google for episode synopses I get nothing more than a brief overview.
Anyway, there's an episode in season 1 (episode 3 I think) that I losely remember. It's a man killed on a farm where he lived and worked with a father & daughter. It turns out the father attacked him but it was actually a male neighbour who killed him, thinking his wife was having an affair with him. I think. But was she having an affair with the dad or daughter and not the dead guy?
I feel like the ending I'm thinking of is this Carter episode. But also maybe a Mentalist episode!
TIA
I just started a rewatch yesterday and this show is genuinely one of the best of all time. Does anyone else here feel the same way it's such a great show
I see the writers have taken cancellation well! A ghost, an asteroid strike and an impending nuclear meltdown. I bet that script meeting was fun. Let's blow everything to kingdom come!
So me and my friend have been really into watching TV shows recently.
First we watched Doctor Who, as being a life long Doctor Who fan, I needed to get her into it. She particularly enjoyed the Christopher Eccleston era of the show closely followed by David Tennent. She didn't think much to Matt Smith but really enjoyed Peter Capaldi and Jody Whitaker.
Then we started watching Breaking Bad, as again, it's one of my favourite shows. She didn't think much to it, and we stopped watching half way through Season one.
Then Squid Games Season two released. I had only seen the first two episodes of the first season so we decided to start from the beginning. I thoroughly enjoyed every second, and it quickly become one of our favourite shows. The first season gripped me from the beginning to the end. When we got to Season two, it didn't have me as much. But I really enjoyed it still.
After that we were a little stuck until we got a recommendation on Netflix for a show called Alice in Borderlands. When I say we both loved everything about this show, we really did. Again for me, one of the best shows that we have ever watched.
Now we have reached the end of Alice in Borderlands, we are looking for something new to watch. But nothing has really scratched the itch in the same way that Alice in Borderlands, Squid Games, and Doctor Who did. We tried Class and Torchwood (as I had never seen either), and just couldn't get into them. We both love a well written story that throws twists at you around every turn. I love the idea of a good K Drama/J Drama, but I hate reading Sub Titles and would prefer if it had an English dub.
Based off of what we enjoyed, does anyone have any recommendations of something new we might both enjoy?
I know this is a little long, but I wanted to really get in what we both enjoyed and didn't.
TLDR: Please give us a recommendation for shows similar to Alice in Borderlands, Squid Games, and Doctor Who.
If anyone would like me to review either of the things listed, please let me know and I'd happily share my thoughts.
Hello everyone. I am a medical student and I am putting together a presentation about the depiction of women as forensic pathologists (aka: medical examiner, coroner) on television or in films. Quincy, ME was what introduced me to the idea of a forensic pathologist. Later, I grew up on The X-Files and Forever Knight as my introduction to women in that role. As someone in my mid-40s in med school, I am definitely a product of the Scully Effect.
Here is the thing, I don't have much experience with other TV shows outside of a few. At least not recent ones. I've seen some clips of Rizzoli and Isles and it never grabbed me. The fact that she rolled up to a crime scene in stilettos and a short pencil skirt did not help my suspension of disbelief. But, I am willing to give it a go for this upcoming presentation. Of the programs I have seen over the years I have noticed some trends and want to explore those further. However, I don't have the time to watch every single episode of every single show out there.
What I am looking for are examples of women as forensic pathologists in these shows and an episode example for me to check out. Law & Order has had a couple over the years it looks like. Silent Witness has one I think. I remember Gotham had a character who just switched from being a psychiatrist to being a pathologist. That sort of casual switch seems to be a running theme in some of the shows I've come across.
If you can recommend either favorite episodes and/or ones that heavily emphasize their character and the work they do in the show I would greatly appreciate it. I'm looking for fictional. Dr. G is great and will definitely get a mention. But I want to contrast that with fiction.
tl;dr: Shows/movies with a woman as forensic pathologist and an episode to give me a good idea of how they're represented. Can be any country too (UK, India, Korean, etc.)
Thanks!
more multi species shows
I only saw a 1-2 minute clip of the show so I'll try my best to describe it.
Some lawyer was suing the city and/or police department, and the case was going well until her daughter leaked information to the press because she thought her mom wasn't doing her job. The daughter is later called out for being arrogant/naive and because of her actions there is no longer a case.
Apologies for not having more info.
Hi all! I hope this is an acceptable way to use this. I am looking for TV shows from the '90s to the '00s with younger or older characters who display less traditional forms of masculinity. My main example is Cory Matthews from Boy Meets World. While he has some stereotypical masculine interests, he tends to act in a non-stereotypical masculine way in some of his hobbies, mannerisms, etc.
Please let me know if you know of any shows from around that time that fit this criteria. Thank you!
Hypothetically say you are about to head to the gym and you turn on your spotify playlist called cartoon gym music, what's going to be on it ?
So far i have watched many many tv shows but the only ones that came close or did success in making me drop a tear are the following: Lost, Supernatural, Attack on titan.
Tv shows like game of thrones or such made me sad but in a different way, a way that i just felt bad for what happened. But i need a genuine teardropping ending like Lost's one, not that you feel bad for what happened but you feel connected with the characters. Thanks in advance.
Here is another thing, i feel much better watching known high quallity tv shows but ill consider anything.
Does anyone know of a website that provides detailed summaries of every episode of a specific TV series, including spoilers? The episode descriptions on IMDb aren't detailed enough. I'm looking for a site where I can find out exactly what happens in each episode. Any recommendations?
it an Italian Reality show Like "steve austin broken skull" and "physical 100"
Just started Happy's Place. Am enjoying it. Decent sitcom, in my opinion. And seeing Reba McIntyre and Melissa Peterman together brings back memories of Reba. It is definitely light and no intense thinking needed. Though I think they are trying to interject some heart into with the dead dad having a secret love child angle. Anyway, if you liked Reba, you will probably like this.
