Hello fellow TvShow lovers. Just completed my uni exams and now I'm looking for something to kill time but I want to watch something western TV show which might stick with me for a long time. I'm listing out my preferences so that you can suggest me some shows.
10/10 shows in my book:
Shogun, Severence, Black Mirror, Dark, Vinland Saga, Avatar: TLA, Alice in Borderlands, The Mandalorian, Full Metal Alchemist, Steins Gate, Itaewon Class, Peaky Blinders etc.
Also I don't like the series which oversexualizes everything like Game of Thrones and Euphoria. I generally liked those shows but stop after one season due to this reason.
Thank you!!
I am in between tv shows right now and looking for something good to watch. Do you guys have any good suggestions or apps that I can use to decide what to watch next?
Wow it was sooo good! I think I liked it better than season 1.
What did y'all think?
Sidenote: season 1 episode 5 (the scene with the mom and baby) has got to be one of the most disturbing scenes I've ever seen 😭
I read that Jackson left the show because they wouldn't show the truth about racism??? They literally dedicated a ton of time into it... his TO that overly aggressive and racist... they literally did an entire storyline around it so it just makes no sense. Feel like it was just an excuse. What do yall think?
then if you have watched good omens on amazon prime then you should watch dead boy detectives on netflix.
Is there a TV series you wish had a prequel made about any or all of the original characters?
Mine would be Downton Abbey, specifically, Violet Crawley (Maggie Smith). In the original show, we hear about her early years but I’d like to actually see her as a younger character. Of course, does there exist a teen/20 something actress who could play the younger Violet and match Maggie Smith?
I’m hoping the power of Reddit can come in clutch here. I’m 22 and used to watch this cartoon as a child, me and my parents remember it vividly, but we can’t remember the name of the show, it was about this little lion cub and an old Indian man, they used to travel through waterfall and you’d find out about animals such as anteaters etc. I really hope someone watched this show too, if you remember the name PLEASE tell me 😂😂
Feel like I’m the only one who watched this little show but any help would be very appreciated to find the name of it 😂😂
I just started watching the Netflix series a Man in full. What are your thoughts?
Not saying anything based out of island theme or anything, but maybe something similar to survival theme which develops good enough characters, relationships has hint of adventure, mystery and thriller.
I have already seen
Manifest, The 100, walking dead, from
any other suggestions would be great :)
What's a cliche episode subject a lot (if not most) of the shows you've seen have?
For example one of them for me would be the Hawaii trip. I don't know how common the trope is anymore but it was common in thr shows from 1970s-2000s. I've seen it used in shows from before and after tho, just not as much.
Another one would be Thanksgiving or any other US holiday. Btw I'm from and in the US.
What about y'all?
Okay I watch the same things over and over again. I usually watch Gilmore girls and Heartland and Friends. I started watching Heartbreak High which captured my attention. I also love shows geared more to young teens like Netflix's babysitters club and Alexis and Katie. I like family oriented shows
With that said I DONT like modern family or Seinfeld. I don't like This is Us. Any help would be appreciative ☺️ something wholesome and emphasis on family r friend oriented.
It’s weird. I’m about to start episode 11 of the first season, and it feels fake and scripted, but isn’t as interesting to me as Laverne and Shirley. I also don’t really find it to be all that funny (Laverne and Shirley, which I’m almost on s3 of, gets a chuckle out of me at least once every episode. Happy Days doesn’t.) I love the theme song, but even though I romanticized the 50s when I was little, there’s something about this show that just doesn’t appeal to me.
I think I do understand why people liked it, but I’m wondering if it’s weird that I can’t properly get into it. Maybe it’s because I’m 19.
I'm 36 and grew up with all kinds of shows. Like, I may have seen most of Matlock myself haha. Even own the first season on DVD. Still, that's considered a show for old people and long has been.
I work in senior living and they tend to like reruns of 60's and 70's shows, and newer movies. I helped a new resident with her remote the other day and she didn't even know 80's shows like Growing Pains because she was 91. When I found her a channel with Maude, she said "oh, keep it here! Perfect!"
So, as I prepare to continue my series watch through of The X-Files with a 32 year old friend this evening (the movie is up next!) what shows will put future caregivers be joking they need to put us in front of? I think they'll be one or two for boomers and then for us millennials.
For boomers like my dad, my money is on Magnum PI or perhaps Star Trek TNG (though that would be on mine as well). When I'm 79, The Original Series will turn 100 haha
Severance was probably one of the most fun viewing experiences for me, not really knowing what’s going on most of the time, sort of having to theorize what everything’s about. Are they any shows that are like this ??
I know this is going to turn some heads, but I fully believe that LoK was the best of the two. Every season had very intricate villains who were powerful and skilled. They gave more depth to the avatar state and the spirit world. The fighting was better (probably because of technological advances), especially S3 when Tenzin was beating the absolute life out of Zaheer. The character growth from the main group, as well as Tenzin and his children were very well done. I loved TLAB but I enjoyed LoK much more.
Hi guys! My girlfriend and I are looking for a show that we can just sit and watch while we eat our dinner. We just finished up Community (I recommended it, she never saw it and we both loved it) and are currently waiting for the new season of Big Mouth.
In the meantime we’re looking for a new show to watch. Something lighthearted and funny ideally with 25-30 min episodes so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
We have most streaming services so feel free to suggest a show off any of them.
Thanks!
It reminds me of an 80s TV from my childhood. It just got dimmer and dimmer until most shows were unwatchable.
Outer Range is unwatchably dark 70% of the time. Every scene that's at night, dusk, or any interior scene.
For example, right now I paused on a guy drinking a beer at night. Literally the only thing I can see is his face, hand, beer, and parts of his clothing. The rest of the screen is pure black. It takes a camera change just to see he's in a building.
It's not worth the eye strain. How did they get a 2nd season if they messed up the 1st?
Edit: rephrased a few things five minutes after my first post.
Something in the vein of: The Good Place, Ted Lasso, Schitts Creek… any suggestions?
My girlfriend watched a show a few years back and can't remember the name of it,or the actors. The only thing she remembers is there's a guy who's kind of a psycho, meets a girl who turns out is a psycho too,and the ending is they blow up the school and everyone dies. I dont know if she even remembers right,I couldn't find anything and I know this is very vague but thanks to anyone who can help.
Hey fellow tv heads.
I'm looking for some comfort Shows, food shows would be amazing as well.
Here is my list that I play when I'm under the weather or the mind decides today we are not getting out of bed.
The office Cheers Boy meets world All of Gordon Ramsay shows All of Anthony Bourdain (Rip legend) Two greedy Italians Simpsons Family guy American dad king of the hill News radio Just shoot me
I'm a sucker for sitcoms.
Thank you all
I recently saw a conversation about shows that disappointed fans as they went on (and wow there's a lot!) but I wanna know what shows are perfect?
It can have plots or characters you don't love, but objectively they didn't ruin the show. I'll go first: Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and Schitt's Creek. Sure Rebecca makes some cringe decisions and I know most people hate Roland Schitt, but overall they're excellent shows with proper pacing and perfect finales!
Dexter is probably my favorite show of all time, but I never hear anyone else talk about it. Maybe because it’s an older show? I don’t know
I became hesitant when Netflix did the same with Sky High: The Series (not Disney).
Just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to this awesome community! You all turned me on to some incredible shows recently:
Silo
Severance
Fallout
binged them all way too fast, and now I'm left with a serious sci-fi craving.
Looking for more mind-benders with time travel, murder mysteries (bonus points for a sci-fi twist!), like Dark, 12 Monkeys, Passenger, and Stranger Things.
Any shows on streaming services that'll blow my mind?
Thanks in advance!
