I mean actual materials gone into making the sets. I have absolutely loved the sets of bridgerton so maybe sets like those but it shouldn't be green screen or anything it should be real.
This is a docu-series reenacting the events surrounding the shootout at the O.K. Corrall. It focuses on the Earps (Wyatt and his brothers Virgil and Morgan) and the Cowboys that they were fighting. It's narrated by Ed Harris.
This series is great. The acting is good, the narration is awesome, the story is told extremely well and in an extremely entertaining way that keeps you engaged. There's side stories about JP Morgan and his efforts to consolidate the railroads, love triangles, mob bosses, corrupt politicians, and lots of historical context.
My favorite part is Doc Holiday. A former dentist turned drunken gunfighter that just kinda hangs out around Wyatt after saving Wyatt's life and beginning a lifelong friendship.
Highly recommend this show. Check it out!
I've watched brb, bcs, suits, dark, sex ed, never have i ever, money heist, prison break, lost etc. So I want something like suits or something thriller as well. Tried mindhunter but it's not very thrilling. So any good recommendations ?
Mini series or movies like the gentlemen
Can someone recommend me a series or movie where there is a group of friends (if possible they don't know each other from the beginning) and the genre is action, fantasy or horror.
Need some new series to watch!
Hey folks! 🫶 I'm looking for some new TV series to watch and would love your recommendations. Here are some of my top favorites:
I also really enjoy documentaries by Mads Brügger.
As you can see, I enjoy a mix of thrillers, crime dramas, historical series, and some lighter comedies. I love documentaries that adress contemporary societal issues.
I’d really appreciate any suggestions that align with these interests!
Thanks in advance for your recommendations!

There was a series on Netflix a while back about different cults and murders. I can't remember the name of it for the life of me. I wanted to see if it was still on there.
I watched this a long time ago, but just can't remember the name. It's a documentary about a man who kidnaps/seduces women and coerces them into cutting off contact with their family and uses them to extract as much money as possible. One of the women's dad goes all out in trying to find his daughter and save her from this man. WHAT IS THE DOCU CALLED? It's NOT the tinder swindler
This week the Netflix Gaming Club is playing Acid Nerve's fantastic souls-like action adventure game Death's Door!
This game is so cute! We loved the characters and environments and the surprises it held along the way!
To give you a taste of things I’ve liked, but also hopefully give some of you a few good recs of my own, here are some of my favorites:
Trial 4 (I know it’s not traditional true crime, and more of a courtroom/justice documentary, but it’s one of my favorite documentaries)
Trial By Media
Making a Murderer
Tiger King (the first one)
The Jinx
The Innocent Man
Icarus (again, not classic True Crime, but still revolves around crime and illegal activities)
The John Wayne Gacy Tapes
Waco: American Apocalypse
Unabomber In His Own Words
Murder Among The Mormons
American Manhunt: The Boston Marathon Bomber
Fear City
Sins of Our Mother
Who Killed Malcolm X
Meltdown Three Mile Island
The Devil Next Door
Killer Sally
Inside The Mind of Aaron Hernandez
Harley & Katya (not true crime, but very dark)
The Hatchet Wielding Hitchhiker
Fyre
Turning Point: 9/11 and The War on Terror
Curry & Cyanide
Murder in a Courtroom: Indian Predator
Ice Cold: Murder, Coffee, and Jessica Wongso
Gladbeck: The Hostage Crisis
Strong Island
Aftershock: Everest and the Nepal Earthquake
American Nightmare
American Murder
I’ve also watched pretty much every documentary there is on Jonestown.
The only documentaries I absolutely don’t want to watch are Wild, Wild Country, The Staircase, and Time: The Kalief Browder Story. I tried multiple times but I couldn’t get into WWC, and I’ve already seen The Staircase and it was infuriating imo. As for Time, it was just too deeply upsetting and it took a huge toll on me mentally when I first watched it.
Thank you and I hope you guys like my recs!
How has no one mentioned this show before? (I’m sorry if you have and I missed it!)
It’s an Australian legal show. But it’s not a high stakes courtroom drama. It’s about a suburban probate law firm. (Money and people dying).
The banter between the characters is amazing, and the jokes keep coming. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a new comedy show.
i am open to quite literally any show, just preferably not one with a cringeworthy plot
I’ve seen a lot of discourse online that breaking bad is one of the best shows ever made and I just don’t see it yet? I am on episode 4, and my usual rule is “if I’m not invested after 3 episodes I should stop watching”. This disappoints be because of how popular it is, does it get way better and is it worth pushing through? I feel like a show labeled “one of the best ever made” should be interesting from the very beginning
My memory of this movie is pretty bad, so bare with me.
I think the movie was in German.
The main character was a teenage age (or early 20s) girl who had a troubled life.
She meets a somewhat older man who she is romantic with.
She later in the move goes to a nightclub and meets another man who she is...also romantic with, she then sends a photo/video to the previously mentioned man to anger him.
The movie has a very gritty, dark atmosphere.
The movie is broken up with her reading a poem that I think was about the sea.
I'm sure it was on netflix around the same time as Fishtank and Copenhagen, It has a similar theme to those movies.
i need some MUST watch tv shows even if they're old ones. kinda like those tv shows which you procrastinate into not watching it but once you watch you regret not starting it earlier, for me that was stranger things so i want something along the lines of that. any iconic best tv shows that will almost change your brain chemistry i need something to wake me up and use my brain ykwim? (even mainstream ones will work since i dont watch tv shoes and movies alot and i haven't watched even the most popular tv shows like breaking bad so i want to get myself into watching more)
I absolutely adore the cozy vibe in Gilmore girls and I need something similar to watch! I don't really care too much for the plot, but I do care about the characters. GG nailed the atmosphere, but went a bit overboard with annoying characters, otherwise I would just rewatch it.
I enjoyed the first few episodes because of the feel-good vibes but I’m now on S2E20 and I’m starting to think that the characters are just pathetic. Rory is selfish, she cheats on Dean, and feeling no remorse about it. She only thinks highly of herself. Lorelei is pathetic & selfish too, wants all the attention, doesn’t really care about others.
Does the show/characters get better? Should I continue watching it or just choose a different series? What would you recommend?
Thank you.
I really don't know how to explain what I'm looking for other than giving examples.
One of my favorite shows, "Chernobyl", did this mystery vibe thing really well. I don't know what it was exactly but the atmosphere of the entire thing had me interested in more the entire time. Even when they were just talking.
Another show that did mystery well was "Leave the world behind". I really disliked the weird focus they had on some characters for seemingly no reason but I LOVED the mystery. Wanted to know what was going on throughout every minute of the 2:30h movie.
"Severance" is also a show that did mystery sooo well. One of my goat shows.
"10 cloverfield lane" was also quite interesting when it focused on the mystery but I didn't like the characters that much.
What I'm not looking for is shows like "3 body problem", "Safe", "Red Eye",… I never felt the vibe of a bigger mystery going on in those shows. 3 body problem was a bit too on-the-nose, Safe was more about the characters than the mystery and Red Eye was more focused on the "mystery" of who did it than something bigger.
Not sure if this gives a good picture of what I'm looking for but maybe you understand what "mystery" I'm looking for. If it kept you interested in what the fuck was going on, I wanna hear it :D
So, not Lost.
As the title says, I'm in the process of developing a chrome addon that allows you watch a perfectly synced movie on netflix with your partner(s)/friend(s)/club.
There's an expansion already planned to accommodate more streaming services such as Disney and Hulu.
Are there any other tools or functionalities you'd like to see in it?
How much would you be willing to pay for this service, if at all?
I just recently finished a good girls guide to murder and loved it. It kept me guessing from the start. I want to know similar shows to that as well. Also it doesn’t necessarily have to be on Netflix either.
Please suggest a movie that changed your life forever or one that made you stop and wonder
Hello, I have the Netflix app on my smart TV, but since I've updated it, the app shows on the side (like it would on the phone, except my TV is in landscape mode, obviously). It turns when I put on a show, but it's still very annoying to navigate. Any advice?
Does anyone have any recommendations for shows that are 20-30mins long per episode? I have a hard time focusing on longer lol
I love crime & comedy, but I’m open to any genre. Doesn’t matter how many seasons as long as it wasn’t cut short with an unsatisfying ending.
It would be helpful if you could include a mini synopsis or why you like it! Canadian flix btw
I’ve been really wanting to watch Modern Family but I’m too lazy to go through the hassle of torrenting it. If you happen to know a specific country where it’s currently streaming, I’d love to just use a VPN to access it instead. Any suggestions on where I can find it?
Hello,
I'm looking for the name of a movie about bank robbers. the only thing I know is that at one point the robbers drive over a bridge in 2 vans and one bus suddenly robs the other and then it turns out that half of the team wants to rob the other half. then after a shooting in the middle of the bridge, robbers jump into the water to avoid the bullets.
I hope you can help me!
gr
Please suggest some shows like “The Gentleman”.
Never really been a huge fan of streaming services because most shows I like are documentaries (not sensationalized ones or overly dramatic) but ones that are true to the subject nature and just factual. Netflix really never appealed to me just because I work a lot and never have time nor interest in original fictional tv shows/series.
Been reading how they actually have a lot of documentaries so I thought I would try it out for a month. What are some good documentaries that are not overly dramatic and just factual and informative. It doesn’t matter what kind really, just don’t like overly dramatic music every 2 mins and not docs that try to make something seem more dramatic than it really is. I do know they stretch out many documentaries into multiple episodes which I guess is fine….right now watching “The Trials of Gabriel Fernández”
