So I just got a mustang and I want it to look like Kurt's but having trouble finding the pickguard just want to see if anyone can point me in the right direction thanks
I think the very beginning is: 4 4 X 2 2 2 But I have absolutely no clue
I’m bored and need something to put money towards though my next paychecks and really want the authentic nirvana tone through amps and pedals on each era
What is the quality of the download? I've been looking through this sub and online and I can't find the answer anywhere. I'm considering buying the digital download for the Nevermind Super Deluxe album from the Nirvana store, but I can't find any info about the quality. I don't want to get mp3's, I'd rather download either wav or high quality lossless flac files.
I'm sorry if this post doesn't belong in this subreddit. I wasn't even born by the time Nirvana was popular and Kurt passed, and I just found out about them like last year, being from a country where they're not as famous. I don't even understand why I'm sitting here deeply indulged in a dead rockstar's stories and breaking my heart over them :( I suppose there just is something about this man and Nirvana's music.
I know, I know: "Nirvana is one of the greatest bands of all time!" There, settled.
But over time, I've realized that the line between band and solo project/artist is blurry. There are some bands where one or two members have the predominant creative control. There was one interview with Krist Novoselic where he agreed with the interviewer who said it was "Kurt's band".
Artists like Bruce Springsteen And The E Street Band and Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers often straddle this blurry line. Sometimes they're portrayed as bands, other times they're treated as "solo artist+backing band". There's some collaboration but there's still a primary creative force who writes most of the songs.
Overall, the level of creative control and collaboration makes it hard to definitively decide. Kurt did want Dave to start writing more so that does make it more like a band. But there were also times where he made it more like "My band".
I'm creating a playlist dedicated to songs that may have inspired each and every Nirvana song, here is said Spotify playlist. https://open.spotify.com/playlist/3fcw7oHFucWzVNVSeRnnJW?si=No3VEFDFQAqco9LnHv9aag&pt=cf96b6a60536c3306afaa37b2a128a8c&pi=JxKURuhfR1Kl9
I apologize to the Reddit mods if this breaks any sort of rule, just wanted to have some fun and find the influences behind these incredible songs!
There are a ton of songs where I have a song in mind, howver I believe there may be something better in mind, here are all of the songs I am still trying to look for: )Also please keep in mind that this list is NOT to say "hey Nirvana sucks they ripped off all these bands!" I love Nirvana and just want to have a giant list with all of Kurt's influences throughout this incredible song career) (ALSO ALSO, I am trying to find songs that existed before the song was created btw, some cases I just didn't but for the most part that is what I'm looking for)
Again sorry to the moderators if this like breaks some rule I'm just a bit neurodivergent and just enjoy doing really strange things like this (nuance my ADHD plays into it idk) I just got bored lmao
That's all. Glad to hear that at least once in my life
One of their most badass songs.
I remember seeing some kind of article in the magazine, that said that nirvana shows were either best shows you could atend, or worst shows with Kurt butchering lyrics, being dunk etc... Was it really that bad, that it was quite literally 50/50 if the show will be good or not?
I personally liked Joan’s performance, for she was the most energetic, and she kind of handled the song so cool.
I know, body proportions wonky
It's alright. What do you think?
I watched the Nirvana reunion concert for the Fire Aid LA cause, and i couldn’t help but notice Pat’s guitar tone on School. Is it just me or… something’s wrong? Like… it’s over-fuzzed and… bizarre. What are your thoughts on this?
It's been like thirty minutes since I started looking for this thing and I can only find "On A Plain". So if it doesn't exist then I waisted 30 minutes of my live, but thats about the whole post so yurt.
Thanks 👍
Curious what everyone’s biggest draw to Nirvana is? Is it their pop / radio friendly songs like All apologies, About a girl, Come as you are?
Or is it the grunge, punk heavy songs like Negative Creep, Territorial Pissings, Breed, School, etc.
I have always found them to be the ultimate and definitive version of what a grunge band is. The raspy, angst, screaming vocals with the heavy distortion, feedback all over, guitar sound is my reason for loving them. Kurt wasn’t a technician on guitar, but I would take his playing and sound over 98% of all other guitarist ever. My favorite version of them is from the Live at the Paramount concert. Love their sound in the set.
He was friendly and even gave me and my buddy postcards he keeps on him that has a pic of him playing bass. I told him I learned to play guitar to Nirvana when I was young and he was stoked. Rad dude!
Basically what I'd imagine a nirvana album would look like in the 2000s
stumbled across someone selling the gold smells like teen spirit promo record (gold/yellow) on marketplace for 160. thinking about taking the jump and buying it- is it a good idea? mint condition on the sleeve/cover, record is unplayed.
