It's time for our monthly review of the things we bought, passed over, finished, rediscovered, loved, or hated this month!
Been having a rough couple of weeks and I really want to treat myself. Can be anything; skincare, makeup, fragrances. I'm game for anything. TIA!!
Post all the rants here!
Makeup is a form of expressing ourselves in many forms and everyone has a different perspective of what «art» is. With internet there’s access to Instagram, Tik-Tok, YouTube etc. and the power of influencing and marketing can make us intentionally or not to buy a lot of things either because we want to, need to and many other reasons. Well, sometimes things can go a bit overboard if we’re not careful. If there’s a thought that you want to downsize your makeup collection, what category (or categories) would you like to downsize and why?
I’ll go first; Ideally, I would like to downsize my lipstick collection because from when I was a teenager, I had (and still do) a weakness for lip products. I like variety but I don’t need every single one that belongs on the market haha. Also, eyeshadow palettes; I have 4 but my goal is 2 because I don’t use it very often and it’s not necessary to have that many!

Spoolies suck, at least the ones I can get here, even when I use good quality mascaras I always get mediocre results because of ugly disposable spoolies. Since I don't know what to do, especially when I have occasional clients like film extras, etc. I always ask to bring their personal mascaras or use a cake mascara (but still, I get poor results in this case). What should I do with important clients instead?
After an excellent recent post from /u/5Gs-Plz , you guys wanted to have a regular space for, as the OP put it, maintaining a sense of realism about makeup. In their post they asked:
We never see end of day photos of makeup and it is very difficult to feel positive about how makeup breaks down during the course of a day. I was thinking maybe we could dedicate this post to photographs of how our makeup looks at the end of a long day? I would be curious to see how it wears.
Does your mascara flake? Does your foundation disappear around your nose? Or does your eyeliner smudge?
You can certainly share photos and talk about your end of day faces, and it'd also be cool to talk about other aspects of cosmetics and beauty in general that we don't see/hear a lot about, which is when things aren't perfect.
Does anyone remember Benefit Powderflage, the undereye powder? This product was my holy Grail for setting my concealer, and I haven’t been able to find anything like it since they discontinued it. If anyone has any recommendations, I would love some. 😊

Hi :)
Hey all! Curious subject today... Is there any items you regret decluttering? Either because the item ended up discontinued and you realized you actually liked it and only got rid of it because you wanted to try something new, and now can't re-buy it? Or maybe you bought backups and sold them because you thought it was silly to have on hand, but now realize you would actually need/use it?
I used to have a backup of one of my favorite Nars eyeshadows, Kari, and sold it. I feel like such an idiot lol it's one of the few pinky mauve shades which doesn't turn orange on me, and I actually love using it as a blush and eyeshadow for a nice monochromatic look. I still own the one I currently use but with the pan getting more and more of a dip I'm really starting to regret getting rid of my backup. And figures, my other favorite eyeshadow is Nars Himalia which has a similar dip forming in the pan and it's the PERFECT brown for me for a one and done eyeshadow look. I wish Nars never got rid of their dual intensity formula, it's really the best and honestly cant find anything that compares.
I’m returning back to work in a few days. As FTM needless to say the bags under my eyes are definitely there. I work as a hair stylist and the lights in my salon are very bright, it shows everything which is great for doing hair but not so much when trying to figure out the right makeup routine/ under eye coverage. Does anyone have any tips or can share what products works for them?? I do drink a ton of water and stay very hydrated as much as possible considering EBF/pumping for daycare purposes.

Does anyone know if the quality or performance is weaker on the mini sizes? The mini size seems like it would be plenty enough for me, but I'd shell out for a full size if there was difference in quality
i love a moodier lip for the fall time in all types of colors: reds, browns, and berries. (dark lips for fall? groundbreaking). here are my favorites:
revlon rum raisin and raisin rage: such cult classic lipsticks for a reason. rum raisin is more of a everyday color for me while raisin rage is a bit more bold and red but still muted and vampy. super moisturizing and comfy on the lips. some days i put these on bold and other days i blot the color a bit
clinique black honey lip oil: more pigment than the lipstick, thin formula and hydrating on the lips. not sticky at all
kulfi lassi lips in tamarind- such a gorgeous glossy lip stain. the stain is super pretty and brown and isn’t patchy
morphe trendsetter liner with a clear gloss: super pretty deep brown comfortable lip liner

I don’t know if I just have really bad taste or what, but my current foundation obsession appears to be being discontinued.
It’s the L’Oreal Age Perfect Balm. When it went on sale recently I managed to get a decent stockpile of my shade (fair 20), but it’s such a bummer.
I just went through this with the Believe foundation from Dollar General, but I love the Age Perfect even more. It’s super travel friendly, and such a perfect match and my dry skin just loves it.
I think this would’ve been huge if it wasn’t marketed for anti-aging.
I just found this playlist on the English Heritage YouTube that looks super interesting
Where else can I go to learn about make-up in different time periods, countries etc?

Kiko here, PMG examples here and here.
Thoughts? Not the shades obviously - the packaging and the look of the formulas.
Kiko EUR 26.99 (about USD $30), PMG USD $38. The Kiko ones are made in Italy. I couldn't see 'made in' info on the PMG website 🙄, but I do own one of the earlier quints (Bronze Bliss) and it was made in Italy.
Anyway, I am guessing that they were made in the same factory. I would love to know how similar the formulas are. Unfortunately the colours are not for me... otherwise I would probably perform the rituals and sacrifices needed to get Kiko in my country so I could compare them for science 🤭
Edit: No ritual sacrifices necessary! Looks like an intrepid European youtuber named BoB has filmed a comparison. I'm watching now but the tl;dr seems to be the formula is the same.
