I am really desperate to start wearing nice outfits but no matter what I put together I always feel like it looks worse than others. I recently bought some clothes and friends responded with it’s just not my vibe
How do I find what works for me? How do I make sure everything looks nice together? I completely understand colours can’t clash etc but I just really struggle with making sure everything looks good.
Watching this scene in the Sopranos i see Christopher wearing this really nice looking brown shirt, and i've been looking but can't find it. I'd be super grateful if anyone can tell me what shirt this is, or similar shirts, just any information. Here's link to the scene: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=knCATLInM34&ab_channel=T.Smith
Hi!
So, a couple months back, my fiancé mentioned that he wanted to start getting some nice underwear eventually, rather than the usual Walmart/Target brands we always stick with. While I agreed we could start a collection, he hasn't brought it up again since we've been focused on getting everything for our baby on the way. I want to put together a little self care kit to add to his Christmas present, but there is SO much information on what defines "nice" underwear for men, and I really wish I had pressed a little more for what he had in mind at the time.
He likes cotton and wears boxer briefs and trunks. Are there specific go-to brands anyone would recommend specifically, especially for comfort and/or moisture wicking materials? Tom Ford, Lululemon, Calvin Klein, etc?
Hello! Which is, in your opinion, the best color available for levi's 501 and 505 on the market?
thanks
I need to know how to alter my size from pants sitting on my hips to my waist. My job is requiring me to tuck my shirt in(with a T-Shirt?) and I'm trying to comply but the shirts are too short to stay tucked in at the hips(lots of bending/squatting etc. at my job) and pulling my pants up to my waist causes a "great divide" of some essential body parts. Any help would be appreciated. I can request new uniforms, but I just don't know how I should go about readjusting the measurements to account for this change in position. Any advice would be appreciated.
Im searching for this sweater I saw recently (I made a 3D version to make it easier). Black, with a skull (i think). I think it was out of wool and the "hairs" were quite long.
I tried searching everything, but couldnt find anything.
Hello, I will be attending theater and later after that a semi-formal party (dancing, chatting etc). I need advice on what should I wear with my suit.
My old suit used to be 3 piece cobalt blue suit, but since finishing military and now attending university, the old suit has gotten small for me from waist and shoulders. So I got a new medium bluish-grey 2 piece suit for myself, while I also have one of the dark navy blue waistcoat's from thrifting.
Should I wear waistcoat, which goes well with my shoes as they are similar colour and gives a little contrast or is the waistcoat little too much in your opinion? I added a few pictures with imgur link on how the suit and waistcoat sit on me.

Thank you in advance!! And my happy to take any constructive criticism or suggestions.
They have a sale on some of their 100% wool suits on their website and not sure whether to buy. I've seen some reviews saying that the quality of shirts has dropped massively post-acquisition so wondering whether this also applies to any suits? Would love if anyone could share their experience.
What are the best flannel brands and color types? Getting quite cold where I am and want to pick some more up but am wondering what kind and from where to look. Atm I've got quite basic red, green, and blue variations.
Found a sick polo, Johnny collar style with no buttons, but I wish the V would stay a little bit more closed than it naturally does. Basically I wish it had buttons... any ideas of an invisible way to keep that V slightly more closed? It's only one layer of fabric so I don't think I can do a safety pin without it showing...
I had a P-coat a while back and lost it big bummer there. It is a wool p-Coat with a zip out turtle neck which zipped into the jacket then has a normal front zipper. As well as had 2 inside chest pockets with a 2 column 3 row button lay out. Any thoughts on a brand that sells something like this.
Mainly thinking about brands like Peter Millar, Cole Haan and other dressier/business casual
I'm pretty new to dressing like a normal person (up until last week I wore sweatpants every day, barring a special occasion). That being said, I've decided it is time to change my wardrobe. I have concepts of ideas, but not really sure how to style myself. I like ringer tees, I like leather jackets, I've been thinking about wearing a watch? I realize this isn't that helpful, but I'm not sure where to start. I wear a lot of graphic tees and Reebok Club C70s. I'm in my early 20s and I'm around 5'8 and 160ish pounds. Where do I begin? How do I figure out which brands are good and most importantly, are leather jackets still cool?
Before wearing these new shoes (Grant Stone), I applied a coat of Saphir leather conditioner and, after a break, multiple coats of Saphir neutral creme polish. I let the shoes sit for days before wearing.
Fast forward to today when I take them on their inaugural voyage. I'm walking across a parking deck and, just as I look down to admire my new purchase, I nearly gasp at the site of several deep fault lines running across the left shoe (pic). After a 100 yard walk. The lines have shown no signs of fading throughout the day either.
I know leather creases. I'm new to Grant Stone, but I own over a dozen pairs of Allen Edmonds. None of my other shoes have creasing near this level. My left loafer looks like it got beat up. Obviously, I'm disappointed with the results. Unfortunately, the shoes are now worn, so did I just make a very expensive mistake? Or am I being overly picky? Any other advice?
I've usually always worn the same thing. Ball cap, T-Shirt/hoodie, jeans, and either work/cowboy boots. I tend to definitely gravitate towards more of a blue collar/ mild western style.
I Want to start wearing more flannel outter shirts, get a nice trench coat for winter (That doesn't look like a typical Wall Street style), really open to ANY suggestions/ideas.
Definitely on the big and tall side, 6'4" and 300lbs (1.9m, 136kg) but I don't LOOK that heavy.
Looking forward to any ideas, links to sites, or advice y'all can give!
Hi Everyone, I got my right leg amputated less than 2 years ago and only now an event is happening that I will need a suit for. Due to my prosthetic, my right leg below the knee is wider than natural left leg. Wondering if anyone can recommend any tailors or suit shops that have experience with suits for folks with disabilities. I'm in Orange County but work in LA. So any places in that area will do. Thanks again.
i need inspiration and i realized i need to get a good winter hat but i have actually no idea what's a good "masculine" hat. it's a bit silly to ask, yes men can ear whatever hats and something like a "masculine hat" sounds stupid but i'm a trans man and anything that helps me pass better is great. i need something you wouldn't normally see on a woman-passing person, my dysphoria is quite bad and wearing the right clothes helps a lot.
Hey everyone,
Just looking for some nice shoes to wear for business casual outfits and formal suits. I don’t quite want oxfords or loafers but still want something classy that fits the bill. For reference I usually wear some nice pairs of Nike Dunks, Represent shoes if anyone is familiar with them, and I have a pair of golden goose’s for when I go out. I like the golden goose’s and want something similar that’s maybe a step up in formality!
Appreciate any suggestions. Sorry if it’s an open ended question but I’m mostly just curious what you all wear with a suit/other nice outfits without the footwear being as formal!
I'm looking into getting an overcoat made. The tailor doesn't have quite what I'm looking for (heavy camelhair or wool/cashmere/mohair blend). Does anyone have any suggestions on places I should look for heavy, quality coating fabric?
I'm in AK but will be traveling through NY, Paris, London, and Zurich over the next few months.
I recently started a new office job in tech, and we have our Christmas party very soon. Dress code is formal, as we will eat at a fancy restaurant.
I'm not the kind of guy who wears suits, but I don't really know any alternatives when it comes to formal clothes. I'm very open to be original, and a bit out there, but I don't have the eye for such thing!
I'm a 28m, 5,10 ft, 180 Lbs.
So I basically live on kahkis, Eddie Bauer shirts and flannels but my fiance wants to go to a nice cocktail bar thag has a "SMART CASUAL LUXE, YET CHIC" which i assume is basically smart chic. I have holey blue jeans and grey jeans. All my kahkis are cargo. I have no suit coats or non flannel button ups. Anyone able to give me something to look at?
I recently watched the movie "Drive" and now think about if i should buy the scorpion jacket Ryan Gosling is wearing. Would you say its wearable in public or just cringe?
Edit: just bought the jacket and am looking forward to wear it. Its definetly not something you should wear every day but its fine every now and then i guess
I have 2 sweatshirts. One is solely for the gym, its sole purpose is for me to sweat into it, it will never be seen outside of a gym. The other is my midweight zip Carhartt hoodie. I love that thing. It's no nonsense. I'm never self conscious in it, I can go from work to a cool party in it. I'm comfy in it and when someone is cold around me, I give it to them and they're comfy in it. But also, I don't baby this hoodie. I can get all kinds of crap on it & throw it in a regular wash, no special cycle, & have it go from wash to dryer. Best of all, I've put it through so much & it's in practically the same condition as when I first got it. I'd like another hoodie that has these qualities going for it. Budget is flexible for quality.
So this is my personality: rock/punk rock, surf/skate culture/alternative vans/doc Martens type crowd, etc. Also always dug the metalhead, rock and roller look, but I have a curly fro and can't grow it long.
I'm 44, right now I just dress "normal" Polo shirts, slacks when I have the occasion. When I'm playing music, it's jeans and a cool band t-shirt. Maybe flannel and a baseball cap. That was generally how I dressed, band shirts, shorts, pretty much like a teenager, through my 30's, it was always a part of my personality.
Now, since I'm in my 40's I'm dressing "more sophisticated" but I feel like it doesn't show who I am, which is edgy/alternative. It definitely gets women's attention when I dress nice, I look like I'm in my 20's, work out and am in great shape, and I am handsome. I feel like edgy and sophisticated is kind of a contradiction. You can't have both together, because alternative culture is rebellious against the "sophisticated GQ type look" So, is there any fashion hope for someone like me? I just don't feel "cool" dressing normal. Thinking about going back to the Vans and T-shirt, but I don't want to look like an overgrown teenager and attract women in their 20's that think I'm their age either.
Also, switching out an entire wardrobe is expensive, and additionally, I have pretty poor artistic sense when it comes to clothes. Maybe I should hire a stylist? How much do they usually charge? Is it worth it? Maybe I can learn how to match colors?
Hopefully, I can solve this fashion crisis!
I've been trying to dress up more formally and want to purchase this pants.
I see a lot of ads on IG for iloveugly and Taylor Stitch pants but don't find any good reviews. What are peoples go to places to purchase pants?
I see good reviews about Suit Supply but they are expensive.
Thank you.
I am trying to find a nice Brioni blazer and I found one, but I’m really confused about this jacket. I like it, but I’m not sure if it’s real cause usually with Brioni Logos the B and the R are usually connected, but this one stitch looks a little off if anybody knows I’d really appreciate it
Looking for classic and durable heavy cotton camel color shirts in the style of "the camel man" from those old cigarette ads. Cant seem to find any. (Preferably in South Africa)
I have lots of different clothes but have super hard time matching them, is there any resource, guide, youtube channel or an article that you recommend to thoroughly learn the subject?
I've been trying to find a black bomber jacket that's 100% cotton, no polyester or nylon at all, but I haven't really found anything. I'm not familiar with clothing brands outside the most common ones like Nordstrom, so I could use some suggestions.
